Named after the hill tribe village called 'Lisu', settling nearby the lodge, Lisu Lodge is an eco-friendly hill tribe lodge in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand. It is part of a community-based project that aims to conserve the natural heritage of hill tribes of northern Thailand. Built in traditional Lisu style with an eye for western comforts, the lodge overlooks the lush fields and hills surrounding the valley. We offer a wide variety of packages, from day visits to multiple overnights, including hill tribe experiences, soft adventure (cycling and white water rafting) and trekking. Our prices include accommodation in comfortable king-size or twin bedded rooms with en-suite bathrooms, electric fans (non air-conditioned), meals and drinks as specified in the programs, as well as English speaking tour guides / local Lisu guides.
Lisu Lodge is a beautiful place. It’s a collection of immaculately constructed bamboo lodges set in picturesque grounds, in the stunning Thai hills. The rooms are surprisingly comfortable - you take your shoes off before going up the steps into the lodge, and the woven bamboo floor is lovely underfoot. There’s no air conditioning, but with a fan and the air circulation through and around the building, it wasn’t needed at all - we all slept very well. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you need (a good en-suite for example). And it’s fun being in such a different environment! Plus it’s all so well-kept - really clean and well-maintained, from the buildings to the pretty gardens. We also had some fantastic food, including our best meal so far in Thailand. It’s well-judged with a range of options and heat-levels, so me and my husband (who love spicy food) and our 8 year old (less keen) were all happy. And it was a great experience eating on Thai floor cushions around a low table on our lodge verandah. For lunch and dinner we were served a range of options (for example dinner was chicken green curry, a mince stir fry, pork ribs, eggs in tamarind, a soup with meatballs, and rice, followed by fruit and banana in coconut milk from their own gardens). For breakfast you could choose American (eggs, bacon, toast), healthy (fruit, yogurt and an incredible toasted granola), or Thai. And it was all delicious! But the best thing about it was the care and attention of the staff. You could really feel the effort they made to make us feel welcome and comfortable, as well as in looking after the property. I’m so pleased we decided to come - it’s been one of the highlights of our holiday. And we really enjoyed our rafting trip on the local river while we were here - stunningly beautiful, with (small, not too scary) sections of white water interspersed with calmer sections drifting past friendly picnicking Thai families. All of Thailand has suffered with the lack of tourists due to Covid - I really hope Lisu Lodge gets the visitors it deserves very soon. We would definitely come back!Highly recommended.

This a beautiful hotel. The location is wonderful and the view is great. Ann and Mai were so amazing at check in. The site did not say this, but if you try to check in early, they can charge you 500 baht an hour. The internet is good. The room was pretty clean. They are remodeling the restaurant, so food is very limited. The bed in the the room was so hard it made my hips hurt. Through out the the night I woke up because my hips hurt. I will not come back here.

This place is amazing. The surroundings make you feel like you are in a oasis of nature and the pool is great. There are just 4 rooms plus the host house and therefore the place is quiet and you get a very personalised attention. Rooms are very cosy and the host made everything to please us ( organising some dinner for us, booking an elephant camp, etc) I would recommend this place to everyone we loved it

The nature's abundance at Km.32 of Papae, the small village among big hills in Mae Tang district, Chiang Mai has been found for over 10 years.Surrounded beautiful scenery experience has inspired to create the "little coffee shop" surrounding by natural abundances with the finest Arabica coffee beans in order to welcoming all tourists especially "Nature Lovers"...That's always gets the great feedback from all visitors...Inspiration for "restaurant" was created later on. with the freshest highest-quality ingredients and creative cooking by Super Chef. Not lonely anymore in the highland. it was also a wonderful that this area is alive and known to all visitors. To make this area promptly for one-stop services. The premium accommodation among outstanding natural areas with heart-warming service was established at that time. The resort was well-established with the corporate social responsibility and sustainability that focus on the great privacy, peaceful surrounds with beautiful scenery as well as protect and maintain the ecological integrity of the community.
Can not review the resort but thought the coffee shop is worth mentioning as well. Take a quick break here from the windy roads, leaving Chiang Mai, heading north. Many different coffees and teas to choose from. Food visa offered too. Clean toilets and lovely views over the forest.

We stayed for three nights and had the most wonderful time. The accommodation was fabulous (very stylish garden bungalow opposite swimming pool). The food was really brilliant and a surprisingly wide selection. Breakfast was good although I do think charging extra for a machine-made coffee instead of the instant on offer, wasn't a good policy. The grounds we're delightful and the quality of accommodation was excellent. The staff were smiley and helpful (limited English) and went out of their way to accommodate us. The swimming pool was a welcome respite from the day's sight-seeing and kept immaculately clean. Very few negatives although maybe the endless "Eagles" & "Western" music played to accompany meals was a teeny bit irritating! But all in all, a brilliant and unexpected find and, given the limited eating choices around the hotel, fantastic to have such beautifully prepared meals on tap.

Surrounded by the unspoiled forest, hill, river and peace, baanAnatta Resort is a perfect getaway to refresh your mind, body and spirit. nestled on the bank of Tang River, connected to Huay Nam Dung National Park, our "eco-friendly resort'' is packed with fun and adventurous activities for all ages to experience such as white water rafting, trekking, elephant riding and bamboo rafting.
Location and atmosphere which are peaceful, splendid and exceptional are key factors for me to choose Baan Anatta in Mae Tang for a short stay (1 night). The resort is set by the beautiful Mae Tang river surrounded by unspoiled nature but in the middle of no where so that a travel will need owned/rented transport to get to the resort. When arrived, it was obvious that the place had been run-down. Only couple staffs were on duty while all rooms were occupied, hence, no doubt that overall services were below expectations. My room (two-bedroom bungalow) is needed immediate maintenance and proper cleaning. Food is just ok but magnificent river view of the restaurant is guests magnet.

I booked this through booking.com. We payed in cash when we arrived but they then told booking.com that we hadn't showed up and tried to take the full price from my credit card as a cancellation fee. It could've been a misunderstanding as they didn't ask to see my booking confirmation or any ID and perhaps didn't realise we were the booking they were expecting, but I told them it was through booking.com and there was no-one else staying there so it should've been obvious! The room was good, they have 4 brick-built bungalows that are quiet with modern facilities. It's a good location if you're cycling from Chiang Mai to Pai and can't make the whole distance in one day (35miles from Pai and about 40miles from Chiang Mai). The food is terrible and they charged us for 3 breakfasts. I'd pointed to one on the menu and then changed my mind and pointed to a different one but they brought both and we just left the extra one on the table.
