So we arrived at this hotel it was night time. We went to our room and slept. Next morning we had the view in the picture from our bed. Awesome. Don't take me wrong, this is not a 5 star hotel, not even a 4 star. It was actually pretty basic but, when you have that view... Who cares....

The lodging is a mix bag of business - retail shop and restaurant in front and lodging at the bottom. The staff here speaks no English whatsoever and we ended up using hands and gestures to communicate with one another. Suffice to say that the design is industrial style. The room is very echo-ey due to hard surfaces. The room has got a fantastic view to its surroundings and it's rather spectacular. There is strong WiFi signal in the room too. And now, let's get into the unexpected parts...right in the middle of the night, perhaps due to mating season between cats, many of them were purring at one another loudly for a very protracted period of time. In the end, the sound rattled up the whole "neighbourhood" and other hotel guests were attempting to shush the cats away but to no avail. Then, closer to 4am, the cocks started to do their bit to wake up the neighbourhood and it was seriously disruptive to our sleep. In the countryside, the noise made by the cocks were seriously loud and nonstop. If you are willing to put up with all the commotion, Wang Put Tan might just be your stop. Once is enough for us.

I had a Family room with balcony view blocked by a roof top, those staying in Deluxe rooms had better view. Spacious and somewhat clean room but with very dim lights so I can't really tell if there's dirt or dust. Bathroom floor tiles are quite slippery when wet, I slipped and fell inside, luckily didn't hurt myself. No decor in rooms or bathrooms, all very basic cement. I guess for this price we couldn't ask for too much. There's a roof top where you can go up to have a good view for sunrise though some other places offer better scenic spots. What I loved most is their dinner and their dining area, surprisingly delicious and a fantastic view. Free breakfast on the other hand had not much options. Ample parking lots.

We arrived late noon and Patrick was around to help us check in, a really quick and breezy process. We met his cute son who introduced us to the cats on the compound (although Ginger was probably the only one who appeared regularly). The grounds are big but it was lovely strolling around with the fresh air and beautiful environment. Brekkie is done buffet style if there are more residents otherwise the staff takes ala carte order, which is really a good way to avoid wastage. The meal is simple but the taste is yummy, like the typical home cooked Thai meal. There is a outdoor pool but it was too cold to swim. Rooms are uncluttered but equipped with all the necessities you need and the chambermaids were a happy friendly bunch. Wifi was VERY good and worked everywhere on the compound. Probably the cheapest snack bar we have seen too ?. Only little head scratching moment is the lack of a shower curtain resulting in a very wet toilet/bath and damp toilet roll. Otherwise, it was a wonderful, blissful stay.
