This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the former capital of Laos, and you'll see everything from golden-roofed temples to vestiges of colonial French architecture here. Buddhist monasteries abound in Luang Prabang, and early every morning, monks process through the streets collecting alms (their food for the day). If you want to watch or participate, though, ask your hotel for a brief etiquette lesson first—you have to distribute the food in a specific manner.

I've lived in Luang Prabang for nearly 3 years before, it's pity that I never checked Belle Rive from inside , whilst I knew the terrace in and out. Last week I had to fly to LP at a very short notice and Belle Rive was the only hotel came across my thought. Everything exceeded my expectations from the moment I called the hotel to book to the moment they dropped me off to airport. Clean, charming, beautiful hotel and the most important thing to me is the STAFF, very kind and welcoming team. Next time in LP, Belle Rive is the way to go. Thank you for having me.

Wake up to cappuccinos and croissants as saffron-robed monks file past in the early morning light. Cycle picturesque streets of a UNESCO World Heritage town, taking in temples, cafes and artisan stores. Charter one of our boats for a sunset cruise down the Mekong River. Get ready for your Avani Moments. Avani+ Luang Prabang Hotel is a modern boutique hideaway with a storied history. Formerly the site of French officer quarters, then home to a landmark local hotel, these peak-position grounds in the heart of the old town now welcome you with classic-contemporary style – design that’s a breath of fresh air while remaining true to the town’s colonial architectural heritage.
My family and I were pleasantly surprised by the quality of service we received, the cleanness of the facility and the overall organization of this Hotel. The location was very convenient and everything seems set to make it a wonderful experience for the guest.

We are a beautiful boutique hotel with a personal touch, located on the tip of the peninsula, at the very end of the old town, on the UNESCOs World Heritage Area. The view you have from the rooms and Café/Restaurant is the meeting of great Mekong River and Nam Khan River. The Hotel is quiet and peaceful with the beautiful former Royal temple Wat Xiengthong as your neighbor. Due to Unesco regulations, our Spa and pool is not on-site, but only a short stroll or boat ride (depending on the season) away on the other side of the Nam Khan river.
We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Room was nice but o=unfortunately we did not enjoy the view due to a big tress just in from of our balcony.... Pool was a bit cold as we went during the cold season and the pool is nopt in the sun for most part of the day... Food was good but quite costly in my opinion.

The owners were friendly and so helpful with bookings for day trips and onward journey. If you want somewhere out of the main tourist area, this is for you. We used the shuttle service but there are bicicyles available. We were in Laos before the lockdown and major travel restrictions came into force. felt safe.

We enjoyed a two night stay at the hotel in the Champa Suite courtesy of an upgrade. The room was nice and very charming. It is showing some age however it was very clean and functional with a good shower and large bath tub. The best thing about this property is easily the team from front office to f&b. They were quick to respond on Facebook and made the booking process very easy. We also appreciated the flexibility as we had to cancel a night on short notice as we were unable to secure train tickets to luang prabang. The team was very understanding. Also, we appreciated the surprise birthday cake (noticed from my passport upon check in). The hotel also had a large pool, though the water was way too cold to swim in Dec. Good, solid breakfast and a great location just outside of the night market and still well within walking distance. Thank you for accommodating us.
