Getting its name from the medieval Duchy of Limburg (now split among Holland, Belgium and Germany and the birthplace of the infamously pungent Limburger cheese), Limburg is the Netherlands’ southernmost region. Many of the area’s best attractions are concentrated in the capital of Maastricht, but other sights include the 12th-century Valkenburg castle ruins, the 17th-century Eijsden castle, the 20th-century Glaspaleis (built next to a medieval church at Heerlen), and De Meinweg National Park.

Dating back to the 15th century, the former Kruisheren monastery and adjoining Gothic church have been transformed into a spectacular five-star design hotel, located in the heart of Maastricht’s historic centre. A member of Design Hotels™ and awarded the Dutch Hotel Award 2017, Kruisherenhotel Maastricht combines thought-provoking architecture with original features throughout the 60 ultra-modern guestrooms, each with their own individual quirks and details.
This hotel is one of the top number one hotels in The Netherlands. Situated in an old monastery with gorgeous modern styling. Great rooms, best service. Nothing is too much for the very very helpful staff. Doggie sitter arranged. In the room all sorts of surprises for us and for the dog. So thoughtful and lovely. A perfect position to explore the town. And a have of peaceful calmness when needed.

Located next to the Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Center (MECC) and the Randwyck Railway Station, and directly outside the historical city center, the NH Maastricht provides a sophisticated gateway for business and culture.
Booked this hotel for 1 night during the weekend. During reservation, no CC guarantee was requested. I arrived on Saturday at 17h15 at reception. After a couple of minutes, the girl at the reception told me my reservation was cancelled as I did not give a CC guarantee during my reservation. I was flabbergasted. If this is a requirement, then ask for it at reservation. This would not have been an issue. When I asked if something could be done she told me to go see another hotel nearby, did not even offer to call that hotel herself and just left me in the street with nothing. I have NEVER EVER been treated this way. At least call, send an sms, e-mail, send a reminder one day before but don't just cancel people's reservation and leave them without anything on the street. I was luckily alone and found another room elsewhere, but imagine what would have happened if I came with my family. This is absolute unacceptable customer treatment and I was very offended and surprised by this incident. I can still not believe it actually happened. Summarizing: ALWAYS use CC guarantee when booking at NH Hotels, otherwise you are treated as rubbish.

A hotel as thriving as the "Wyck" neighborhood. If you enjoy design, Designhotel Maastricht is the place to be. Spend your time lounging on the enormous beds, admiring the coolest artworks, or go shopping for must-haves at one of the area's chic boutiques and concept stores. Simply create your own plan. Sleeping in the Designhotel Maastricht is always a unique experience, with so many unique rooms. Our rooms have something for everyone, and are well-equipped for a great visit!
The best part must be the location—5 min walk away from the train/bus station. This is excellent if you decide to travel to nearby Belgium/Germany or around Maastricht over weekends etc. It is also walking distance to the city centre. There is plenty of good food offerings nearby. The interiors are clean, elegantly designed and comfortable. Staff are always helpful and many greet you by name each time. They offer bike rental which is convenient to get around with. Price wise a bit on the higher end but still reasonable and good value.

The perfect hotel for guests who don't just want to be part of the crowd and who want to create their own story. A stay at the Mabi City Centre Hotel means giving free reign to your fantasies and bringing stories to life; stories imbued with just a hint of those censured scenes of the iconic films of the past. Within the walls of Mabi City Centre Hotel, located in the heart of the historic city centre of Maastricht, a world is created that inspires you to write your own script that is enacted against a backdrop of classic decor in the flamboyant 1920s Art Deco style but with a contemporary twist. Our personal service and luxury facilities create a new impression and experience of freedom.
Had a amazing stay at Mabi Hotel! Nice service and love the details. They also think further and give me a nice letter at the start and birthday. Clean rooms and hotel bar available. Good service just ask the crew

Personal, small scale hotel. Great setting in a forest, yet only 2,5 km's away from the historic centre of Venlo. The hotel has 82 non-smoking rooms, including 3 junior suites and 23 Executive rooms. The reception desk is manned 24/7. Free WIFI in all rooms and public area's. Great hotel for guests who also appreciate facilities for relaxation like fitness, swimming/sauna and running in the area. Leisure guests will appreciate the Wellness Center where they offer several treatments. The landscape and the Limburg culture (think of Roman life and the peat extraction) are truly unique and worth discovering and experiencing. The reception offers serveral cycling and walking trips. The region offers many shopping possibilities like in historic Venlo itself, Designer Outlet Roermond or just across the border in Germany. With kids you may visit Amusement Park Toverland or the attractive outside playground Klein Zwitserland on walking distance.

Hotel Valkenburg by Mercure, design with character An old brewery gets a new location: a design hotel, in the middle of a lively mix of facilities and nature. A hotel that compiles raw elements with fresh design. Extraordinary class, with a rough edge. Design, with character. Imagine yourself in the opulence of nature, meeting luxury. Designed right next to the Geul. An environment that invites you to discover, explore; an adventure. You wind through the southern hilly countryside while cycling. A burgundian lunch, and then a stroll through the old city of Valkenburg. In the evening, a whiskey – neat – or a martini – on the rocks – at the bar of RUW. To then wake up in an environment of raw design with a warm touch. A refreshing wellness shower, a cup of coffee – black – and a view of nature as far as you can see, start your day. Ready for a new adventure. That is the description of an overnight stay in Hotel Valkenburg by Mercure. Class, with a rough edge. Design, with character.
Although we are not cycling fanatics, we had a great stay in this hotel. Nice big room, clean and good breakfast. Close to the city center within short distance (1100 meter walk). A great base for a weekend!
