Reviewed By cr765Location is very good, but for comfort and overall experience I'm sure you can do better. We booked well in advance and as a couple found the room too small. The double bed was against the window, making it difficult to exit. Breakfast was adequate but not inviting. Coffee machine in foyer a bonus along with the Family Mart on the corner nearby. English is not a strong point and other resources need to be used to find your way with tours and food. The walking tour around the Edo town is recommended, to help understand the history of Kurashiki.

Somewhat mediocre considering the parking, and noise... a bit too average.
Reviewed By psprofThe hotel overall was just a bit too average. There was no parking at the hotel and nearby parking was pretty expensive as they charge you every 12 hours rather than 24 hours. So, for one day of parking, the cost was over 1200 yen. The hotel itself has only one elevator and no inside stairs. So, it is often a long wait for the elevator. Although there is a sign in the hotel warning people not to take the elevator at busy times, that of course is silly. Those times are busy because people are choosing the best times to go somewhere or come back. The hotel has a lot of noise from neighbors as well and it does not make for a good sleep, generally. I strongly suggest bringing earplugs for this hotel. The bath was again quite average. It smelled a bit too chlorinated for an onsen, and there were only 3 wash stations. They even recommend that you might have to wait to wash during busy times. There are a lot of these kinds of "warnings" in the hotel asking you not to do x during the busy times. I think it would simply make more sense to remodel or improve the situation so that there is not as much congestion. The two more positive things about the hotel are the location and the fact that they did not violate the law by asking foreigners for more information than they are entitled to. The location is very near the station, so if you take the train, that can be very positive. In addition, they seemed to be used to foreign residents going to the hotel and did not demand to see a passport that I am not required to carry or any other form of ID that they are not entitled to see based on the law. So, the staff seem to be well-trained in that respect.

Impressive renovations
Reviewed By chakimamaThe most comfortable and pillows!!! After our early morning and ton of walking, the beds here were heavenly. The staff amazing. The marble bathtub was huge. I read some negative comments about how dated the rooms were but we clearly had a renovated one. The Ivy and the Dormy Inn, both with public baths, were my top choices for Kurashiki but fully booked. So this was the only option available for the tour package I booked. The Japanese breakfast the next morning was also amazing. Did not expect to like it as much as I did. Prices can run much higher than the deal we got. But we felt lucky to stay here.

Reviewed By sielI spent one night in Kurashiki on my way to Takamatsu. I arrived rather late but still went for a walk around the canal in the old town - definitely worth it as it’s much quieter than during the day. Same thing for an early morning walk, great for pictures. Hostel Cuore has a nice bar downstairs, where you also check in and check out. The female dorm was very comfortable, it’s more as if you have your own mini-room: the upper ‘pods’ have real stairs to climb up to them instead of a ladder. There is a curtain in front of every pod-entrance, so lots of privacy (apart from the curtain for the external window that was lacking right in front of my bed). I did miss a fridge in the tiny common room though, where kitchen facilities seemed very limited. It’s very close to the old quarter, in a perfect location. I went for lunch at the Mamakari-tei, they only serve the famous ‘sardines’ with their most expensive menu set, but it was definitely worth it. I visited several of the sites: - Ohara museum of art: I skipped the part with western painting but enjoyed the Asian section. In the morning there was also a hall open with views of the garden, worth a look. - Ohashi house: lovely place with a really enchanting tea house at the end of the tour. You can order the tea in the previous stop ( the library if I remember well) but have it served in the teahouse with a view of the garden. Lovely and quiet experience, nice chat with the lady working there. - I skipped the toy and Momotaro museums as I had no specific interest in them and didn’t want to overload the day - Kurabo memorial hall: not a lot of English captions, but if you like old pictures of the industrial heritage of the area, this is a nice stop - Achi-jinja: lovely shrine just a short climb up from the old quarter. Very atmospheric and quiet. - Craft museum: well presented, nice souvenir shop I ended up buying quite some souvenirs here: some cute toys and products made from the fabric that is used in tatami mats.

Reviewed By summ3rI booked the Chisun Inn through Agoda online and the process was fast and easy. We had GPS in the car so we found the hotel very easily, but it's quite a distance away from the tourist area in an industrial zone. We had a Superior Double room. The check-in process was easy and the hotel staff were extremely helpful. Both the room and bathroom were clean and perfect for our needs. We paid an extra ¥500 each for the breakfast provided by the hotel. It was a Japanese breakfast, served buffet style, with about 13 different hot and cold items, and a salad bar with 5 different items offered. The hotel manager was very good about keeping everything topped up. I'd recommend the Chisun Inn as a clean, affordable stay for budget conscious travellers.

壁が薄いのか
Reviewed By Sightseer46362671162建物は新しいようで内装はとてもきれいで清潔感がありました。しかし、壁が薄いのでしょう。9階のお部屋に宿泊しましたが、隣か上の階のドスンドスンという音がかなり響きます。また、廊下で話す方の声もほぼ聞こえます。お風呂は温泉になっているようですが、シャンプー・リンス・ボディーソープだけで、アメニティ類とバスタオルは持参です。部屋のTVでお風呂の混雑状況が分かるようになっているのは良いなと思いました。

The parking has no maximum level limit and good for any cars. Before checking-in, you can put your car and luggage at the hotel and travel light.

Reviewed By Frank vThis hotel is used by many workers, leaving in the morning to the construction site and returning in the evening. At return they all use the washing machines, so at this time there is mostly none available. The rooms are average and clean. Beds are made daily and also the towels are renewed daily. The room has AC, TV, fridge and water cooker. The room has a private bathroom with toilet, sink and a small bath. Toiletries are available at the reception. Breakfast is a buffet with a small amount of Western and Japanese breakfast items. Simple but fine. From 24:00 till 07:00 there is nobody at the reception and you have to enter with a code. There is no bar or restaurant, but there are 2 vending machines with drinks. The hotel is at about 10min walking distance from the station and centre.
