Reviewed By Iain Neal JAfter looking through dozens of places to stay on Koh Jum we settled for a one bedroom beach villa at the Koh Jum Beach Villa resort. We asked for a private transfer as it was our first time there. Very well organized. We arrived at the resort to be welcomed by the operations manager David. After checking in we were shown to the Villa. We were speechless. The Villa had everything we wanted and more. A nice plunge pool with jacuzzi with clear views of the ocean and a ten second walk to the beach. Everything in the Villa and around it was spotless. An amazing bed with a very comfortable mattress. The bar and restaurant are both super relaxing. Cocktails in the bar are fantastic. Then there is the food!!! I can honestly say that I’ve never had such high quality food served so consistently. Specials everyday also. It is fine dining quality food but with big portions. We ventured out now and again but felt the resort catered for everything we needed so spent most of our time there. Finally the staff. All the staff were extremely polite and attentive. Of all the staff we spoke to all had a good grasp of the English language. David the operations manager was extremely helpful throughout our stay. A must visit resort and worth every penny. Thank you ?

Reviewed By C589BUerikaThe Ocean beach resort must be one of the greatest places on earth to relax. The friendly staff, the great food and perfect location makes for a lovely stay. When the tide hits the swimming is perfect and if you want to take a trip with the canoe there are plenty to rent/borrow. We had the "family" villa which was perfect for our family of four. There are a lot of stairs but no problems for us. Everyone in the staff did everything to makes us feel at home during our 3 nights stay. We'll be ack!

Reviewed By dolphin_jayStaying at thé koh Jum Resort was an exquisite pleasure, feeding thé soul. There is no thing to do: just be. This is its charm, it’s unique quality. The staff were wonderful : warm and helpful at all times, especially supportive of my health needs. I do not remember all their names. Mr Tum and Miss Lilly on thé dining side, and housekeeping and technical staff were great. A special mention must go to thé general manager Mr Koh. Mr. Koh took personal care of me from beginning to end. He was attentive and assisted me in many ways. This included organising thé transport for me to arrive here safely : thé island is not at all well known amongst Thai locals in surrounding areas such as Phuket. Without Mr. Ko’s help I could not have got there. I truly felt looked after and cared for by him and his staff. The food was great. The sunsets are stupendous. Thé wooden bungalows have rustic charm and sunken baths, which I enjoyed so much. They all look out onto thé sea and secluded bay. If you do feel thé need to ´do’ stuff, snorkelling trips to Phi Phi can be arranged, and nearby you can hire kayaks. You can take a tour around thé island, renting bicycles if needed. However thé deepest pleasure is to let go, chill and just ‘be’: let your soul breathe. ?❤️

Great hotel overall!
Reviewed By Tobias1581We stayed here for four nights in January 2020 and overall the hotel is very good. Want to point out that the staff has adequate English skills, the premises are guarded at night with an on site guard. The staff is friendly and helpful. The on site fitness center is top class with free water and towels. Big shower facilities and few people using it. Nice view too! Checking in was simple despite us being an hour early. Arriving to the pier via speed boat it took us only about 4 minutes to reach the hotel on foot. The breakfast is as any hotel breakfast, although significantly better than our other stays in ao nang and Railay. Big selection of American breakfast. The rooms are roomy, with a nice balcony and simple decor. The shower was amazing with high pressure water, usually not common here. Cleaning services are good, you get free water in the minibar every day. Beds are alright although one mattress was really hard and the other one really soft. The only problem with this hotel (which is why I have it 4/5) is that the walls are super thin and it gets really really loud at night even when people just walk around in the rooms next to you and outside. I woke up several times a night from the noise and I’m a pretty sound sleeper. Really a shame since everything else is great here. The hotel has a simple pool, sadly it was overfilled with screaming kids though. It’s a family hotel so I guess that’s to be expected. Really close and central of you want to explore phi phi don and the other islands/activities available from the various tourist counters.

Reviewed By Shropshirelad7Koh Jum is a lovely, fairly unspoilt island, just like Koh Lanta was 20 years ago. Jungle Hill resort is very basic. Nowhere to put any clothes, so leave them in your luggage. The staff were nice and helpful although their English was limited. Food was good. Being built on a hillside there were lots of very uneven and crudely built stairs. Not good for anyone with any walking problems. Make sure you take enough cash to pay your bill as they make a 5% surcharge for paying with a credit card.

Reviewed By Signemarie18Huts are located central on the island, which we found perfect for a small trip to koh Jum. There are several great restaurants only a few minutes away with AWESOME thaifood (the best we had on our vacation). The place is clean and we had no problem with not being that close to the sea. Aircon was a lifesaver!! The owner means well and arranged scooter rental for us for 200 baht/day. He is maybe a little (too) serviceminded and was trying to convince us to book further journey through him - seemed dissapointed we didn’t.

With FU Bar just along the beach for an excellent evening of cocktails life couldn't get any better ? Friendly's restaurant definitely serves some of the best food in Thailand so 10/10 all round. Can't wait to come back

Golden Pearl Beach Resort The golden pearl is situated on the unspoilt tropical island of koh jum. Koh jum is just one hour from krabi airport and we can organise transfers direct to our resort. We are on the end of a beautiful 4km stretch of west facing golden sandy beach in the warm crystal clear waters of the Andaman sea. The golden pearl has a good selection of bungalows to suit all budgets including two brand new deluxe bungalows right on the beach. We also have an onsite restaurant serving freshly cooked traditional thai food as well as a good selection of western dishes. There is ample seating including beachside sala's where you can watch the sunset over the islands of phi phi whilst eating. You can also play pool or watch the evening fireshow and we always have a good selection of fish and seafood which is fresh every day. We have an onsite shop for your daily needs, laundry sevice and we also have free wi-fi in the restaurant area. The golden pearl also boasts its own longtail boat which c an be chartered for various trips including snorkelling around the islands of phi phi, bamboo, mosquito and railay bay to name but a few. You can also hire motorbikes, bicycles or kayaks from us at a reasonable rate to explore the tradition working thai villages or many secluded beaches on koh jum. There is also an onsite masseuse offering relaxing massages right on the beach front or in the privacy of your bungalow. All of our bungalows a just a few steps from the beach and are equipped with a western style toilet, shower, fan and mosquito nets, or our deluxe bungalows are air conditioned and brick built. We can also arrange transfers to and from anywhere in krabi at very reasonable rates. So there you have it, the golden pearl offers everything you could possibly need for a perfect beachfront holiday all in one place. The golden pearl is a family run business and offers one of the warmest welcomes anywhere in krabi. Come and see us...you won't be disappointed!

Reviewed By 530nicolaeWe stayed in the bungalows on the beach, there is three of them they are lovely and traditional but could do with a few little updates... We couldn't lock our room when we were in at night, the safe wasn't attached to the wall ?and there was no fridge.... Also the make up wardrobe was broken so unable to use (no coat hangers) none of these things spoilt or stay but put right would of made the stay more enjoyable

Lovely place but.........
Reviewed By 14debbienStayed at Oon Lee Bungalows for 3 night. The resort itself was lovely, set up on the hill with the bungalows in the front with sea views and the back ones with garden views. They have a resturant which serves both French and Thai foods. As an FYI they do take credit cards. To get to the resort the ferry comes in and is met by long boats which you than transfer with your luggage to the boats (on the water) and are taken to the resort. For people who are thinking of staying you must have a moderate level of fitness, as you have to climb to and from the boat, you have to climb up to the resturant first to check in and than depending on where you are staying either back down or up to get to your bungalows. The part that was frustrating for us and was never really expressed in reviews was how far away it is from everything. If you are there just to stay at the resort and not explore it's lovely, but to really explore the area you need to rent a motorbike, however the road from the resort is a dirt road with pot holes and very uneven surfaces so you have to be able to ride with a certain amount of comfort. Please consider the rainy season and night time as well. To reach the first bit of paved roads you could google map the stone bar which is situated next to the paved part. Renting motorbikes was an event, please be very careful as they do not offer insurance and may charge you for damage that you didn't even do which happened to us.

Such a great chilled place
Reviewed By OntheSpectrumBack after 2 years. 1000 baht for an AC room with a sea view. Lovely staff, they'll bring food and drinks to your room and on the beach. Sea is lovely. Little challenging for a few days when the low tide is during the day. But you only have to walk a few mins either way to find better swimming. The piped music is mind numbing and needs to go :-) beds are very firm. Still love the place. Done it twice now. Highly recommended.
