No airport shuttle
Reviewed By toshajones07Adequate breakfast, clean downstairs area. Was going through renovation, which we didn't know in advance and the hallway on 2nd floor was dirty and dusty. Ac was noisy so you heard it every time it went on and off. Room walls are very thin, could hear the next room tv. Was not aware that there was a train track behind the hotel so you heard the train come thru early in the morning. Biggest disappointment was that the hotel didn't offer airport shuttle service but had a van and shuttle bus available. But offered cruise port service for a fee. Doesn't make sense with the airport being a few miles down the road. Probably will not stay here again since they do not offer shuttle and the train noise.

Reviewed By 754ktmNicest parts of the hotel are the breakfast--made to order and being right next to Lake Ponchatrain. Otherwise, it's a dive. Dingy hallways, weak shower. Attracts bad people. One person was smoking pot in hotel and outside. Hotel needs major renovations.

Simply terrible customer service!!

I could not reach the hotel, the phone lines were out of service and there was no email available…I wanted let them know we would be arriving at 1 am and would need the airport shuttle to pick us up. A week before I tried to reach them with no luck. I reached out on the Choice hotel 800 number, they had no idea how to reach the property or what was going on. I called another Comfort Inn close by to ask them, they didn’t know and NOT ONE of these sources would help! I had a nonfundable rate or else I would have just canceled my reservation. When we got to the hotel at 1:30 am after I paid for a Lyft, since the 24 hr shuttle from the hotel wasn’t there. I asked the front desk clerk if they knew their lines were unavailable she gave a curt nod yes and NEVER made any verbal communication or apology. I totally understand that accidents happen but good God, you are a business, make an alternate plan for your guests to reach you!!! Let the 800 number know what’s going…seriously will never stay at a Choice property again, if avoidable! And another note…breakfast was included but it was cold and gross. Eggs undercooked, sausage hard and cold, no water, had to ask to refill it…and area was dirty. Only plus….the shuttle driver back to the airport was very friendly and informative. He was the only one who acknowledged that the lines were down and told us what happened! All around simply…DISAPPOINTING!!

Comfort Suites don’t get the hospitality industry!
Reviewed By Angelique TThis hotel is a dump. We arrived in the middle of the night . The front desk clerk should have been the first clue. We got to our room and the lightbulbs were burnt out of the lamps or the lights just didn’t work? Not sure which. The lamp shades had stains and cracks in them. The beds were hard and lumpy. The air conditioner was on but smelled strongly of mold. Microwave had been used by precious guests and not wiped out. At breakfast the scrambled eggs were floating in water? Or just not cooked all the way? The sausage was sry and hard as a rock. You had a choice of three cereals ( not anything a kid would eat) , plain oatmeal or grits ( packaged). The bread was didnt need toasting it was dry and stale. There was peach or raspberry yogurt and some past its prime mushy bananas and apples. We passed on “breakfast”. We asked the manager who was just lurking in the area if he would turn on local news. He just said thank you and walked away. There were a couple of men in the area-not watching the tv. The entire hotel smelled weird-moldy and some other weird smell. Pool is inoperable and they had a sign posted saying there was no airport shuttle either. Very expensive for such poor service, dirty outdated rooms, and no amenities.Do yourself a favor and stay at one of the other hotels!

Reviewed By LydiaLLDI’m always surprised to read reviews that are vastly different from my personal experience. In fact, I almost chose another hotel based on a few and I’m glad I didn’t. The room was upgraded and incredibly clean (I’m very picky) – so much so that my white socks remained white despite walking around the room in them. It was quiet, the bed/pillows were incredibly comfortable and for my very short stay, I had no issues with the internet. It wasn’t super-fast, but had I needed to do more than check mail and social media, I would have paid the additional money to get an upgraded internet. I suppose I could complain they ran out of cookies and I didn’t get one. I only had one very small issue with the room. The air wasn’t working, and it was getting warm. After adjusting it several times with no results, I called the front desk. While on hold, I looked at the unit and noticed the plug was partially out of the socket (probably hit with the vacuum cleaner). I laughed, hung the phone up, plugged it in and it worked perfectly. My situation was a little different in that I checked-in, needed to return the rental car, go the airport, and take the shuttle back to the hotel. When I inquired, the front desk staff were very accommodating and friendly. They told me to call and they would ensure I was picked up but the shuttle arrived to pick someone else up just as I walked out. They also run 24/7 and the 3AM shuttle got me to the airport timely, although not entirely awake. Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this hotel again. In addition to the positives above, it’s close to the airport and there are plenty of places nearby to get food and gasoline. I give them an A+ for a great place to stay near the airport.

Reviewed By swood317831This hotel was close to the airport and used Lyft for shuttle service. Clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Did not use the breakfast service as I was leaving for the airport; however it was available at 5:00 am if I had wanted to use it.

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve had at a hotel
Reviewed By R4210CMkaylahI NEVER write a review and will NEVER stay at this hotel again. My bed had 4 short, black curly hairs on the sheets and was dirty. Went to the front desk to request a new room, got to the new room, ANOTHER curly hair on the sheets. On top of that, I had a strange guy wait, watch me and follow me at my car into the hotel and when I saw him again in passing, gave me the most creepiest chuckle and made an inappropriate comment. Spoke with director of operations, Rudy Ward, who at the time, seemed very accommodating and was going to adjust my rate for the inconvenience. Fast forward to checkout, my bill went up $13 and was already charged to my card prior to checking out that day. As noticed, Rudy did not adjust the rate. I asked the front desk lady to please call him and she hesitated to do so and appeared annoyed. Once she did, he said take $10 off…. TEN DOLLARS? My first night stay should have been easily waived as this is a hospitality business. I asked her to then call him back and the front desk lady said “he’s not going to change it” and I told her call him anyway and I would like to speak with him. Once she got him on the phone, he was “off the property and could not speak on the phone”!!! AWFUL, awful experience. Something on the front desks computer said I would be refunded some money, but we will see. It’s just very disappointing because I was here for a work trip at the convention center next door and does not give the hotel a good reputation for health professional like myself AND others that traveled from all over the US. It’s even more disappointing because we advertised this hotel to over 500 health professionals and recommended they stay here, GIVING THEM FREE ADVERTISEMENT, BUSINESS, and PROFIT.
