The water around Ishigaki is pure blue, with white sandy beaches to soothe your senses. But don't just stand on the beach and stare. Travelers recommend a ride in a glass-bottomed boat to gaze at the coral reefs and tropical fish from above.

I am a foreign resident of Japan for over 20 years. Most venerable Japanese hotel chains or local independent hotels seem to aim for the lowest common denominator. They provide an acceptable level of quality for the budget traveler or families with kids. They do not provide any luxury or a wow factor. Fusaki is different and is really an international class resort. The beach is lovely. The pool area is directly on the beach, quite large, well designed including the lighting at night and has plenty of cabanas and lounge chairs. One thing I appreciate that you do not see in Japan is a bar next to the pool. So you can actually enjoy a drink at the pool -- and not just Asahi Super Dry. You can have actual cocktails, wine, or craft beer. There is also a cafe next to the pool and you can have your meal at the pool. I also like that they have a pool designed for kids at the far end, so if you want to stay away from the kids you can just stay near the bar. For a rainy day, they have a wellness center with a large indoor pool, gym, Japanese style hot bath, and spa. The general services are really good such as food, strong wifi, resort transport (free shuttle from the airport), shops inside the resort, self-service laundry facilities, etc.

I stayed in this hotel for 6 days on my scuba diving trip. Location of hotel is excellent, close to port where boat departs, close to bus terminal which is convenient to reach airport and other place. The room is bigger then other hotels with the same price, breakfast is delicious, healthy and tasty. I enjoyed it very much.

Not sure if it was corona that made the hotel poor or not. The staff at Grandvrio were few and low energy. No one greeted us and getting help always seemed to be an inconvenience for them. Also Hotel is dated - lockers breaking etc. the room was nice enough. Food hours are short. No beach. Pool is small. We spent one day at Fusaki resort and the difference was clear. There the staff was full of energy, food was good and quick, and the beach was great. I would not stay at Grandvrio again.

The staff was friendly and dedicated at all times. The food was nice as well and the hotel is excellent if you want to explore the remote islands as the port is very close. Public transport is also very close so that a car is not necessary. It was a coincidence but it was nice to have german native speaking staff in the restaurant, too.

The Kabira peninsula is located on the north-west part of the Island of Ishigaki. This Resort stands opposite a white sandy beach where the sea is extremely clear. The high quality of the underwater world and the wealth of fauna and flora make the bay of Kabira Japan's most beautiful diving spot. Kabira is also an excellent starting point from which to explore the purest of Japan's traditions. For all the family to discover, this Resort is an excellent way to fall for the charms of Asia.

We stayed for six nights on a family vacation with a child less than 2 years old. The ocean views from our 5th floor room were outstanding. The summer clouds in the sky reflected the sunset, to make for some of the most beautiful I've ever seen. The ocean swimming area is protected with a net to keep out dangerous aquatic life. The sea water is generally calm enough to let the little one swim with floaties, and the pool was clean and easily accessible. The room itself was nice, not the greatest shower/ bathroom but good for the price and area. The breakfast was decent but the dinner, while still served in the same cafeteria area was fantastic. Extremely high quality, and the sunset view was included. All in all it was an excellent stay. I'll review the marine house tours and renting area separately, because that wasn't nearly as good, but the hotel itself was just great (for it's price, and what it offers).

I had a good sized room with a table & 2 chairs. There was a large luggage rack which would fit 2 small cases. There was a clothing hanging area. The bed had a duvet cover which was dirty so I had to get it changed. It wasn't changed daily because there was an under sheet so I am not sure how often the duvet cover is washed. There was a tempura/foam pillow & a normal feather one. Unfortunately the large TV only had Japanese channels. There was a fridge and a large safe. The bathroom was quite a good size but they only provided a smallish towel. The water was very soft. The bath was quite shallow (more like an American bath than a deep Japanese one). The hotel only provided bottled water on 1st night despite the fact I stayed for 5 nights! There was a very good buffet breakfast with an extensive choice of admittedly mostly Japanese food. However there were croissants, fruit, soft scrambled eggs and a coffee machine. Staff spoke limited English. It was a 20 mins walk to to the port for boat trips to other islands. There were a few restaurants opposite the hotel. The pool closes in November which is a pity because it's still quite hot. There was a small hotel shop with a few necessities and tourist items. The airport bus stops at hotel and you can also catch a bus from the hotel to visit Kabila bay (but they are not frequent!). The hotel does provide a shuttle to the airport but it's very infrequent. There was some noise from other guests next door & in the corridor. The hotel seemed popular with large groups.

I love the staff! Room was good with my friend, exactly what you expect for the price. Location is in the town, so perfect you want to be in the nightlife! ("Nightlife" ?) We did not take breakfast at the hotel, as there's so many good places to eat nearby. But I'm not kidding, there is a haunted room here... be careful. The ghost wasn't in our room. But we hear from the hallway the guests who needed their room changed....

Great location. About two minutes walk to the port for island ferries. Most of the main shops and restaurants are also within a short walking distance. All rooms overlook the sea and have a terrace or balcony. The view is wonderful on a sunny day. Bedroom not huge but the balcony makes up for that. All the usual features are available including AC, kettle and hairdryer. Some areas seem slightly dated but it was excellent value at the time we booked (off season/ COVID) Reception is on the ground floor but the lift is external so you can come and go without passing reception. Possibly because of COVID, only a minimum cleaning service at the time we visited. Instead, we got two vouchers each day to collect a drink from reception. Enjoyed the beers more than a cleaning service! Staff at reception were very pleasant and helpful. There are also a few bikes which guests can borrow. Location is the clincher here but overall a really good stay.

We stayed here as a couple in January 2020. Our room was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. We liked the location close to the port and across the road from a very nice French Bakery. We were given the choice as to how much cleaning and changing of linen we felt was needed during our stay. If we chose not to have some the services (which we did) we could earn points to 'spend' in the hotel on our departure. We liked this environmentally conscious option. The staff were all polite, friendly and very helpful. A variety of hot drinks were available from the reception, including a wide range of herbal teas (no fees required). A wide range of foods were available at breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would comfortably come here again.
