A small town in the heart of the San Jacinto Mountains, Idyllwild is the perfect escape from Southern California traffic and the bustle of modern life. The big draw is San Jacinto National Park, where you can explore more than 50 trails. Rent bikes in town for a leisurely ride on a flat trail, or if you prefer, choose more rugged terrain. Rock climbers can scale Tahquitz rock. For those less experienced, sign up for rock-climbing school or try bouldering on the smaller rocks.
A hike through many of the forest trails will take you by mountain streams and lead you to peaks with views of the Coachella Valley below and, on clearer days, the Salton Sea hundreds of miles away. Idyllwild is small enough that wherever you stay, you’ll be close to nature. Head to town to browse local shops and restaurants.

The Grand Idyllwild Lodge is an unforgettable boutique luxury lodge nestled among the trees on over two acres of land. Located at the "top of the town," this breathtaking lodge features panoramic views of the pristine, idyllic San Jacinto Mountains, including a majestic backdrop of the monoliths Lily Rock and Tahquitz Peak.
Writing to object to an unreasonable cancellation fee of $45. My reservation was scheduled for mid-July for a work event off property. I cancelled over two months in advance. I will never stay here due to the unreasonable policy. I could see $25, but $45 is grossly unreasonable with over two months notice.

Idyllwild's only chic mountain boutique retreat. Check in and experience the wilder side of life, we have 9 stylishly designed rooms, 7 featuring manzanita fireplaces. We have undergone a major facelift, any photo's prior to June 2021 were pre-remodel. We hope you enjoy viewing the transformation as much as we did with the renovation. We are conveniently located on the quieter end of town, just beneath the towering Lily Rock. We are a brisk walk into the charming town of Idyllwild where you will find many small shops and fantastic restaurants. All of our rooms are stylishly designed and well appointed for a comfortable escape to breathe in the fresh mountain air.
Wonderful hotel. Room well decorated. Bed big & comfy. Heater/air efficient. Great bathroom & shower. Very quiet. Fast wifi. Online checkin/out. Lobby couch/chairs nice to hang out. As well as front porch. Close to downtown. I highly recommend.

Seated on a hillside overlooking the San Jacinto State Forest, the Idyllwild Bunkhouse is an affordable, eco-friendly mountain lodge tailor-made for hikers, rock-climbers, fisherman, mountain-bikers, or those of us who wouldn't dare head to the mountains without the kids or the pets. From camping-themed rooms with knotty pine interiors and vaulted open-beamed ceilings, to tastefully furnished cabins built with privacy in mind, every Bunkhouse accommodation has a kitchen/kitchenette, private balcony with stunning forest views, Aloe Vera bath amenities, free wi-fi and satellite television.
Best for 1 or 2 people. Simple. Cheap. Clean Cozy. Mostly Pcters. Tiny balcony. You're by the main road so gets loud. No place to walk so must drive to town or trails. Go see Nature museum up the road

This Historic boutique Inn has been a staple in Idyllwild for the past 50 years. Situated on a forested half acre parcel, its close enough to walk to town, yet far enough away to still enjoy the peace and quiet Idyllwild has to offer. This property has just changed hands to a few new owners that are renovating and sprucing up the interiors and giving it the love it deserves to last for another 50 years to come.
Couldn't have been more pleased with this little cabin close to town, with separate kitchen, closet (and writing desk!); and bath (with heating lamps!) and big luxurious towels. Beautiful and comfortable decor. Everything one might need -- the only thing missing was a clock!!! I hated having to leave!!!

One of our favorite places to stay. Wish the store and cafe was open. Several good hiking trails from easy to hard. The staff was super friendly and had all the answers to all the questions that we had for them. We are here a couple of times a year.

Checked out and then came back an hour later on out way out of town to stop and take a picture of the sign. From the parking lot. You’re not allowed here anymore I was told. It doesn’t matter if you’ve dropped hundreds of dollars there and supported their business once you’ve checked out you don’t exist to them anymore. Do you want your customers to come back??? They are not hospitable they treat you like they’re doing you a favor by staying there. Anyways we stayed in the honeymoon suite and The water bed didn’t have enough water in it left us super sore. The heater in the room was on the fritz and at one point would not come back on was freezing and was told they need to not book the room in order to fix it that’s a great idea how about not booking the room anymore until that’s fixed. And lastly in the dead of winter please have food available other than cereal. This place would be so much better if it wasn’t run by hipsters. Just like the guy was saying how you’re not allowed to walk up there and book a room he’s told to leave do you really think that you’re going to get people to stay there that way? Do you think you’re going to have your guests return when treated like that? That was my second stay there I’ve supported your business a lot I did not deserve to be talked to like that I should be welcomed there when I only left one hour ago. We are the people that support you . You guys need to do things more like a REAL hotel. More humanity less rules. Beautiful place ruined by hipsters.

Staff at check-in was extremely helpful and friendly. Stayed in room #14. The bed was very comfortable. Drawback, no outlets near the bed. Parking seems to be limited. We had to park down the street because there was not a parking slot available for us.
