A magnificent hotel located in the quiet upscale residential area of Hoima Town, Western Uganda 245 kilometer from Entebbe International Airport. We offer Self Contained Rooms with DSTV and Internet, Conference halls, Health Club, Bars and Restaurant.
Last time i visited this facility, it was all fun but this time, the rooms are not worth celebrating about especially in the old wing. It looks like this has been ignored and the rate charged is not worth it. Two rooms that were allocated to me had a problem with plumbing( dirty water could not go down the sink drain), the ventilators had alot of dust( an excuse of dusty road can be given but atleast try to clean), The intercom phone set is just a space taker(not connected at all and i could reach the reception for some inquiry),Hot water was a challenge even on advise of letting the water flow for 6 miniutes, nothing as hot water came through. The health club is still good but the drainage in the men's bathroom is amiss. literally bathing in dirty water from a previous client. I talked to the staff on duty but they seemed un bothered. Breakfast options still fine. Management should deal with these issues in housekeeping or else other players will give them a run for their money.

A magnificent hotel located in the upscale residential area of Hoima Town, Western Uganda 245kilometers from Entebbe International Airport through Kampala city along an excellent highway. It is at the top of Kijungu hill giving our guests a great panoramic view of Hoima Town. We offer our guests with unique styled spacious Self Contained Rooms with DSTV and Internet, a 250 seater Conference hall, Bar and Restaurant.
Room 15 .... tucked away at the top of the property.. There is a nice garden area where you can sit in covered section. Yes, restaurant can be cramped if it is full (seats 20) bu haven't encountered that problem. Hot shower more available than previously.. Situated on outskirts of town. There are several nice country roads to walk on to see the countryside. Don't see children usually, but seems to me it would be fine. Staff is courteous, helpful.. Breakfast is very sufficient.

It is a very good place. The hotel is very good. The staff is good. We have taken tea and peanuts. They served Indian tea and it was good. The entire hotel was very good. A pleasant place to dine or stay.

We were visiting friends in the Hoima area and choose this new resort (opened in May 2021) to stay one night. Arriving after dark we could still see that the grounds were very well laid out. In the morning light we saw just how beautiful they truly are. Indeed the grounds are probably the nicest aspect of the resort, the designer and landscapers are to be commended for a true work of botanical art. As for our room, it was rather standard. Even by Ugandan standards (I'm from the USA, but married a Ugandan and have lived here several years) it is not luxury, but certainly in the top quarter. We asked for a family room, but they had none (apparently still under construction) and so stayed in a side-by-side two-room cottage. The kids had a room with two twin beds and my wife and I a double/queen. They are basic rooms -- clean, with a comfortable bed and a decent shower. One thing that I am accustomed to that some might not be is that the shower and the toilet occupy the same space. This can mean a wet floor in front of and around the toilet, and that was true for us -- water was still present in the morning even though we had showered the night before. This could be rectified with better design on the floor, or even just providing a squeegee, but alas we would have had to use our two towels to dry the floor even though we also needed them for going to the swimming pool as none were provided there. The children's room had a TV that played two channels. There was a wire for a TV in our room, but none was yet installed. (I didn't mention it to the front desk as we never really missed not having it.) What some will miss is that not only is there no heating (not something one generally would find any place in Uganda), but neither A/C nor a fan. Now, I've never used the fan I bought for my house, so I understand the establishment's choice, but if they wish to appeal to travelers from abroad, I recommend changing that decision. People from the USA and Europe are going to want to be cooler at night, and since there are no screens on the windows, you leave them no option but to keep them closed to keep the insects out and no way to cool the room if they are hot. The provision of a few hangers in the room's open closet area and another couple of towels would also be appreciated. As for the pool, it is very nice. The seperate children's pool is truly a respectably-sized pool, yet shallow enough for all but infants. The main pool isn't deep enough for diving, but otherwise fits most people's needs quite well. And there are sun umbrellas installed at the 8 very nice wooden lounge chairs surrounding the pool. The restaurant served a standard Ugandan breakfast of eggs (an egg which is first scrambled then fried and not fluffy), sausage, noodles, potatoes, matoke, and fruit; plus milk, tea, coffee, African tea, and juice to drink -- all cooked appropriately and I felt it adequate but my wife thought it a little bland. We also had a nice lunch. The menu is varied enough I believe to appeal to most tastes (pizza, burgers, chicken, beef, pork, and local Ugandan food) -- be advised in Ugandan just because something is on the menu doesn't mean it is in the kitchen, but in our case everything was. I found the service attentive without being overbearing, and by Ugandan standards it was also very quick (about 20 minutes). The kids had a couple of different chicken dishes with chips (french fries), my wife a whole tilapia, and I baked macaroon with cheese. I was the only one disappointed, not by the quality of the food, but that it wasn't the macaroni and cheese from the USA that my mouth was salivating for. It was instead just macaroni and spaghetti with some nice vegetable added and a sprinking of cheese blended in. Nothing wrong with the meal other than my expectations. There is also a very nice looking playground that my kids wanted to explore, but it required an extra 5000 UGX each, which I thought should have been included in the price of our rooms (205,000 UGX for our double and 225,000 for the kids twin room) and so I refused the additional charge and we spent more time in the pool instead. The resort is secure and quiet. The staff was friendly and they allowed us a late check-out of 2 PM vs their usually 10 AM. Kabalega Resort is located just a few km (5 minutes) east of Hoima on the road to Masindi.

We provide conferencing facilities. Our restaurant and adjoining coffee terrace, garden bar and Alice gardens provide a perfect spot for relaxation and offer panoramic views of Hoima town and surrounding areas.
Sat on the terrace watching the rain. The hotel is quiet. And I cannot help wonder if it will stay this way once the boom that usually happens after discovering oil begins to take place. The place is clean, food is fresh, cooked to order and served in a timely manner by friendly, polite staff. Sometimes change is not always progress.

From the outside, you can hardly appreciate this little budget hotel in Hoima. They have a small size reception with friendly team. The unique side of this hotel is the design of the guest rooms. Each room has got a private entrance and balcony. When you get inside, you will love the large room space special the double room. The hotel rooms are kept away from non-resident guests due to the way the hotel was designed. This gave us complete privacy. There are green gardens with rosemary plus other plants + flowers which grow in this area. The fresh aroma created by these plants made us connected to nature All rooms have large bathroom fitted with shower -something i found also unique to this hotel.

I first visited this hotel in 2013, and by then, it used to be Hoima Town's popular hotel. Over time, due poor management, the hotel lost most of its customers including myself. On my recent visit to hoima, I was surprised to see lots of changes taking place. The buildings have been refurbished, new toilets fitted in rooms, better beds with god indigenous furniture, and garden restored. We hosted a 1 day conference here and everyone from the staff to the manager were supportive. My only problem was with the shower. It could not produce warm water. The manager explained to me that they use solar water heaters, and due to the ongoing rains, the heaters could not make warm water.

Miika Eco Resort Hotel is a boutique Hotel with 64 rooms, modern facilities & amenities. It is situated in Hoima Oil City on Kaiso-Tonya/Butiaba Road, 3KMS from Hoima Oil City Headquarters. Its HOME to various tree species, monkeys, historical sites and an ecologically friendly environment suitable for wedding planners, honeymooners, tourists, business travelers and conventions.
7 of us spent 3 nights here on a business trip. On the plus side, the greenery is lovely and the little steep-sided valley running through the property has monkeys and birds. The rustic restaurant and bar is pleasant. We had excellent service from the bar staff, most of whom turned up a few short hours later to serve breakfast, still with smiles on their faces. The food came fairly quickly and the portions were truly ENORMOUS! Literally 3 times what a normal human could expect to eat. So no complaints one value for money. There is a large and well kept pool over the road. The main downside was the wifi, which was either very slow or non-existent, especially in the rooms (which is the most important place when you're trying to work). So for that I can't give a 5-star review. Install some more routers and we'll be back :-)

The bedroom was clean, cold water and no pression in the bathroom. The food is ok. The staff was not very friendly compares to the other places we went. The wifi is very low, and to finish, the road is realy nosy at night...next time we’ll go in another place!
