Doesn‘t live up to its reputation
Reviewed By juliushhAlthough the rooms are spacious, they are not particularly comfortable or nicely decorated (although they were clean). The beds in particular were unbecoming of a 4 star hotel: small pillows and blankets and a thin, uncomfortable mattress were more in line with a youth hostel. Like most of Hohwacht, this hotel had its heyday at some point in the 70s/80s but has absolutely failed to keep up with the times, despite their confident claims and high prices.

Holstein, Lovely hotel, spacious room overlooking the sea, spotlessly clean and great breakfast-all fresh with good coffee and friendly service. Good restaurants and enough places to sit outside for a drink, within walking distance.

Not fair
Reviewed By 688ricklVery dissapointed!!!!!!!! paid good money for room including meals. They said they had a bar, no bar!!!! Our room was not cleaned until 1430!!!!!! Breakfast went till 1100 but they ran out of food at 930!!!!!! Staff was very nice but owner of hotel cut corners and stated it was a 4 star hotel. Would not stay here again

Reviewed By auryn0410The place is set in a quiet area of the East-sea and is pretty much undiscovered by major tourism. The Hotel sits a spectacular spot directly on the shore and divided only through a patio with "Strandkörbe" and a cycle path. We, as a family of 4 with kids under 2, stayed in an apartment attached to the main house facing one of the wings which comes old-dated but to a reasonable price per night. We love the spot and it is great for relaxing on the beach, do little walks and eat seafood. We have always traveled a lot - even with young kids - and bring always our own travel cots due to the fact the our kids feel more comfortably in their own beds. We loved the private sauna option in the main area and it has worked with wireless baby-phone app. What else - nice breakfast and wee cosy bar works great after sauna! Not typically a place you would go with kids but we loved it and will return.

Reviewed By Maik HBereits die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin im Vorfeld war mühelos per Telefon oder WhatsApp. Sie empfing uns, übergab den Schlüssel und erklärte alles. Auch meinen Extrawunsch (Blumenstrauß & Flasche Sekt) hat sie realisiert. Wir hatten ein riesiges Appartement (115 qm) mit 2 Schlafzimmern & Bädern und einer super Terrasse mit Nachmittagssonne. Auch der große Garten war toll, waren wir ja mit unserem Hund angereist. Allgemein sind dort anscheinend alle sehr tierlieb. Beim Hundestrand ist man in gut 5 min., zum Essen empfehlen sich der Nudelladen (ca. 10 min.) oder das Seaside (gute 15 min.). Vorher gleich die Luca App auf dem Smartphone installieren und Check In & Out funktionieren reibungslos. Tagesausklang war öfter das Strandkörbchen direkt an der Hohwachter Bucht.

Reviewed By Daniel_ProtONeKurz und knapp, das dreckigste Hotelzimmer was ich je gesehen habe. Hohwacht ist schön! Wir waren an einem Samstag in Hohwacht unterwegs. Abends gab es Livemusik und kurzum haben wir uns entschlossen die Nacht dort zu bleiben. Das Hotel "Howachter Hof" hatte noch als einziges Hotel Zimmer frei. Zimmer 17!!! Das Badezimmer war so mit Spinnweben überseht und Schimmel an der Duschkabine. Komplett verkalkter Duschkopf. Der Unterschrank vom Waschbecken war innen sehr verschmutzt. Die Badezimmerentlüftung verschimmelt. Zwischen Unterschrank und Dusche eine dicke Staubschicht. Beim Unterschrank ist die Beschichtung aufgeplatzt und das Holz darunter Schwarz. Also duschen war definitiv nicht drin! Im Schlafraum in allen Ecken Spinnen und Spinnweben. Und und und... Hier ist eine Renovierung bitter Nötig. Ich überlege hier schon die schicken Fotos hochzuladen. Naja.. Dem netten Mann an der Rezeption war es sehr unangenehm. Er hielt Rücksprache mit seinem Chef um Preislich was zu ändern. Dem war es anscheinend egal, denn er wollte von den 115€ dann noch 100€ haben. Gabs nicht! Das Frühstück war ne 4- und im Seehotel nebenan. Die gehören zusammen. Die Tische wurden alle vor 8 Uhr morgens eingedeckt und alle Tische bekamen auch schon eine Große Kaffeekanne hingestellt. Als ich den Kaffe trinken wollte war er leider schon fast kalt. Auf die bitte hin einen frischen Kaffee zu bekommen kam die Servicedame dann mit der Kanne zurück. Der Kaffee war dann lau warm Also wohl heissen Kaffe auf den fast kalten drauf gekippt??? Gehts noch? Frech! Alles Aufbackwaren. Nichts für mich. Ich empfehle niemanden dieses Hotel!!! Hier kann man dann besser im Auto schlafen.

Lovely stay, wonderful staff and great food
Reviewed By travelnamhWe had a lovely stay at this excellent located hotel. The hotel is located only 3-5 walking minutes from a really nice beach. The hotel is accessible to disabled. Children are very welcome, pets are welcome, too. The staff at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful and our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Even though the hotels‘ interior is a little dated it still has its charm and all is clean, functional and well-maintained. We can really recommend the food in the restaurant. The freshly made, genuine german dishes/ cakes and pastries tasted truly homemade, they came in huge portions and were definitely worth their price. The breakfast is comprehensive and offers everything that makes a German (or breakfast lovers) heart beat faster - fresh and local ingredients, nicely prepared dishes, fruits, etc. The the lovely lady that was in charge for both breakfast and reception, was very friendly and observant, you would never wait long for your coffee and all dishes, drinks, etc were filled up quickly at all times. All in all, this hotel was a perfect stay for us, even though the huge construction area right in front of the hotel wasn‘t the most beautiful sight. The construction area did not bother us too much though, the area was still nice and quite and our room was, too. We will come again and we can recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to experience a genuine German vacation.
