Appreciated the location within walking distance of Hirosaki Castle Park. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The young lady that checked us in and the older lady that served the late-night noodles were both very kind and helpful. Strangely, the male staff members we interacted with all came across as rather nervous/standoffish/brusque as if they did not want to deal with (Japanese-speaking) foreigners. That said, we enjoyed exploring the city and the Dormy Inn is a great base for doing that. Make sure to check out the rooftop onsen (especislly in the snow) during your stay. There is a great view of Mount Iwaki as well.

Good location located in front of Hirosaki station. All beds are made by Symons company. There is a convenience store on the 1st floor. Breakfast is very highly regarded.

This is probably one of the older hotels of the Route Inn chain. The design is old fashioned and the furniture start to show signs of age. But overall, the facilities are all up to standard and the room is clean and decent. There is an onsen for use by the guests. The included breakfast is more than adequate. Quite a comfortable stay. The hotel is within 2 minutes’ walk to the rail station and bus terminal and is therefore very convenient. Considering the reasonable room charge, it is excellent value for money.

Although the building spells the hotel name but it is in Japanese characters and I almost missed it. It is during the Cherry Blossom season and the hotel is busy but the staff is polite and accommodating to all guests need. The hotel is within 20-25 minutes walk to the 17th-century Hirosaki Castle (Sakura) and an 11-minute walk from Hirosaki railway station. Most of the guests are locals thus the breakfast is mainly Japanese-style and it is healthy and wholesome. I am impressed by the LOHAS concept of this hotel.

Pros: Great spacious room, plenty of space for luggage. Friendly staff. Great facilities including free DVDs and manga to borrow. Cons: Breakfast wasn't to our liking as everything was cold - even the meatballs and cutlets which I expected to be warm.

We stayed the night before going to Mt Iwaki, good location for the scene. Nice onsen, dinner and breakfast. Just one little complaint, I thought all onsen hotel will make bedding for you while you are having dinner. It wasn't a big issue, it might be my wrong perception that was the tradition in all onsen. Other than that, everything else was excellent.

This hotel is located near the Hirosaki Castle. It is a walking distance to there. Very ordinary business hotel, and I don't have much to add. Their key system to the guest room is very old fashioned. They give you a key which is commixed to the big acrylic bar with chain between them. You have to submit the key to the front when you go out, like hotels in many decades ago. No WiFi in the room. Internet is available only through ethernet cable. Reasonably clean and very cheap.

Although the location of this Hotel is about 15 mins walk from the Hirosaki train station, the walk to the main sights, Hirosaki park & Castle, is only 8-10 mins. So, we did not mind walking to/fro the Hotel in good weather (October). However, I strongly suspect that there is a 100 yen Loop bus that goes from the train station to the Hotel (please check while at the train station). Upon check in, we were given our requested higher floor on the 9th floor (hope I remember correctly) and we could see Mount Iwaki from our room!!! Twin beds were big and comfy indeed, not stone hard at all! Room was good size, too. There was enough space even for an extra coffee table and two chairs, imagine, very good size in Japan. What is most outstanding feature of this hotel has to be the breakfasts, think egg station, smoked duck or salmon sashimi, curry rice with seafood (yummy!), porridge with salmon roe, western pastries, fruits, salads, etc etc. Every morning, we would eagerly look forward to a 'feast' here ...Not forgetting, we even got a cup of freshly squeezed apple juice one morning, unforgettable indeed. SO be sure to include breakfasts with your stay here, you would certainly not regret it. Diagonally opposite is a Nakasan Shopping mall, with mid range Outlet shopping on the 4th and 5th floor (sorry, no European brands here). You could get quality clothings at 20-50% discount, really good value! However, no Tax free for items bought at this Outlet. At the basement is the Supermarket and a small food court with only 3 stalls (the Ramen stall on your right while standing facing the stalls is doing a roaring business). All in all, our 3 nights stay in Hotel was truly enjoyable and unforgettable. Will be checking out other Smile Hotels when we travel in other parts of Japan.

I booked a non-smoking room, indeed it's a big deal as smoking rooms in Japan is really awful if you are a non-smoker. Guess what? I was check-in to a smoking room on the day. I called the front desk, with my minimal Japanese language to demand a non-smoking room as per my booking, the staff told me the hotel is running full thus there is nothing they can do except giving me an apology. The room stinks! the duvet stained. The bed is old and uncomfortable...you don't need me to further describe, I believe. Please stay away from this old and uncomfortable hotel.
