Excellent and new hotel but you must book Twin Room if you are a couple. Double room is Super small even for luggages. Breakfast is average as it is complimentary. Free coffee n water is available from 1400 to 0000hrs daily. Many places to have dinner.

Location is excellent. Very easy to find and very close to the station. It is a nice hotel with nice friendly staff. Water is provided and service is great. The only shortcoming is the room and bed is too small even though we have made it clear during booking the number of persons staying. This is the only thing that could make our stay more comfortable. There are lots of restaurants around. It is also not far from the attractions.

I booked two single rooms via Japanican. The photos in the website matched what we found, so we were not surprised about the size of the room. It was really small but quiet and clean and did not face the castle. As far as I know there are no single rooms facing the castle. Our package contained I welcome drink which we could enjoy from first floor lounge facing the lit-up castle. The new and nice onsen also faces the castle. Breakfast was buffet style, no fresh egg dishes, mainly Japanese style food, mainly tasty. Would recommend the hotel as conveniently located to the castle, castle garden and station. Staff friendly, however, only a few speak English.

I stayed in this hotel for three days and i found it to be a bit costly as compared to other hotels in Hikone with same facilities. The breakfast was very good as compared to other hotels where i stayed in Hikone, the spread was wide and good. The rooms could had been bigger and the beds & bedding seem to be in need of a quick refurbishing

Nice, comfortable stay. Traditional and conventional Japanese Hotel. A few good restaurants in the area and is quite a way from the city centre. Just over the main road, the Samurai-Girl sake bar. Try it out, Kayo Nakamura is a hoot and speaks good English.

Ambiance enriched with Japanese cultures and traditions Exquisite cuisine of the lake country, Shiga Elegant Japanese garden Here at Ryotei Ryokan YASUI, located near the historical 400 year-old Hikone Castle(National treasure) in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, we highly cherish Japanese traditions, along with the Japanese spirit “Wa” atmosphere, and look forward to meeting everyone. Dining An uncompromising pursuit for fine cuisine of Shiga, the lake country Ryotei Ryokan YASUI, which is partly named after the Ii Clan, lords of Hikone Castle, brings guests the joy of experiencing peacefulness and relaxation with an omotetashi spirit.
When we were snowed in and could not do any sightseeing in January 2017, we were nevertheless so happy to stay in this ryokan, thanks to the wonderful "omotenashi" (Japanese hospitality), serene and beautiful garden, nice and spacious room, marvelous kaiseki dinner, exquisite outdoor onsen bath, and everything else this ryokan had to offer. So we decided to visit this ryokan again on our subsequent visit to Japan in May 2017. All the greatness was there to enjoy again, plus the splendid sights and travel spots nearby (Hikone castle, Taga Shrine).

We had a wonderful stay at Futabaso in Hikone City, Japan. A traditional Japanese Inn, our room had a great view of Lake Biwa. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Be sure to visit Hikone castle. We had easy access to trains for day trips to Kyoto and Osaka.
