Great little hotel. We stay last night after a last minute booking. The staff are multilingual and very clear at communicating and helping with questions. The hotel room areas a good price and felt value for money. The breakfast was included and was tasty. The restaurant at the hotel is great, good menu. Well worth a stay.

Boutique hotel in city center of Eger.. gastronomic experience and sweet dreams.. The Imola Udvarház Dessert Hotel is in the country’s top 10 boutique hotels, according to the Gault & Millau’s rating. Our Hotel is located next to the Castle of Eger, in the historical downtown’s pedestrian zone. Our rooms have magnificent view on the town and the Castle. This way we can become part of the teeming downtown life or the history itself coming to life only by having a small rest on our restaurants’ terrace. The famous Turkish Bath and the Thermal Bath are few minutes walk from our Hotel. Our Hotel is waiting for its guests with 15 rooms and apartments which are furnished in different styles - in a fresh, but also friendly and cosy atmosphere. Our restaurants the Macok Bistro and brumbrum esentially a buffet are the members of the Stylish Rural Restaurants, the Macok is the 8th and brumbrum is the 17th best rural restaurant in the country according to Dining Guide’s rating.
What a lovely pleasant surprise. The hotel is situated just by the castle on the cobbled section. Parking for the hotel is a few metres prior to it, behind a garage door. Parking underneath the hotel will cost about £5. But parking there saves so much hassle. The hotel and room were absolutely lovely, along with the hotel staff. I couldn't fault my stay at all. Though the hotel would have got 5 stars (excellent) if there was a little more choice for breakfast. e.g. fruit, cheeses and some other jams. But what a great stay.

LIFESTYLE HOTEL MÁTRA superior is the first lifestyle hotel in Hungary where Guests can not only relax but try to achieve a complete life with physical, emotional, social, spiritual and mental harmony. The hotel is near Hungary’s highest peak, the 1014 metre high Kékes soars in the Mátra Mountains, offering guests all year round programmes and activities tailored to their requirements, such as Nordic walking, Segways tours, clay pigeon shooting, rock climbing or skiing. The hotel’s new, holistic AMETHYST SPA’s treatments are designed to gently support both the skin and soul and massages make you feel good and have proven healing and antidepressant effects. We pamper our Guests with special massaging movements during all facial treatments: while the mask works its magic, we gently rub through the hands, arms and the feet too with warm massage oils. All this would not be complete without the culinary assortment available for every stage and rhythm of one’s life: traditional Hungarian flavours and local Palóc dishes, homemade sauces and drinks, with products from local producers, lifestyle menus, including vegetarian, paleo and fitness diet dishes. The emphasis is always and everywhere on the possibility of choice, to allow our Guests to find the most suitable programme for their lifestyle and age, be it physical activity, relaxation, eating or spiritual rejuvenation.Visit us to learn about yourself and to explore the treasures of the Mátra Mountains.
We have already stayed in standard room and junior suite in this hotel. We visited this 5 times altogether. Everytime the hotel was clean, the staff was helpful. I recommend to ask for a room with view of Kékes, because it's beautiful, but if you get a room with park view it's also very nice. The breakfast and the dinner offer wide range of food and every day there is something special, I mean wild food, typicall autumn food. I guess everybody must find something to eat. We also tried to bob game, it was very pleasent and we had fun. But it's important to book a time in advance because it's very busy. Wellness part of the hotel is also very busy during the day. Usually we visited it between 7-9 pm because it's the silent hours, only adult time. This time the pools are quite and you can swim free. The hotel has a forest garden, it's very good to have a walk there, sometimes the wild animals visit the hotel garden. The crew clean the rooms daily. It's not a big cleaning, but they make the bed and empty the trash.

Nomad is a family owned and run hotel and campsite right at the southern feet of the Bukk Mountains, near the famous baroque town Eger. Ideal place for nature lovers, wine, friends, birdwatchers, families, horseback riders, mountain bikers, Hungarian cuisine fans...so for everyone!
Sadly only stayed one night, but the Nomad is back, and at its pre-Covid best. Barbara and Sany were their usual welcoming selves, I had an excellent supper and enjoyed the forest walks around the village. As usual, breakfast was magnificent, how do they do it every time ? What more can one ask ?

The familiar hotel settled in the city centre of Eger,100 meters far from the main street and the hotel is well situated, 2 minute walk from the pedestrian street! The cantine (with fancy breakfast) is on the gallery facing on a relaxing garden with a fountain. Our guests can park their cars in our closable parking lot or deep garage, which are 20 metres far from the hotel, and equipped with an alarm system.
What a great find! To be honest, we booked this hotel as we only decided to go to Eger a few days before our stay and many others in the town were already fully booked, but I’m really glad we chose the Romantik. I see there are a few poor reviews on this site but they all seem to be from a number years ago, I certainly couldn’t fault the place and if I ever return to Eger (and I might well!) I’d definitely stay here again! It’s much bigger than it looks from the outside but has a cosy feel, the rooms weren’t large but more than adequate for our two-day stay, very clean, with a comfortable bed and one of the most powerful showers I’ve ever found in an hotel – I couldn’t use it on full power! Breakfast was included and very good, with a great selection of fruits, meats, cheeses etc, and eggs cooked to order if required, served in a light and airy room which looked out onto an attractive garden – a lovely spot to relax with a drink or a book. The staff were, without exception, great. They were all very welcoming and went out of their way to be helpful – the guy on reception noticed me smoking while we were parking the car so offered us a choice of rooms opening onto the garden so I wouldn’t have far to go if I wanted a cigarette! They all spoke some English, the guys on reception fluently. They showed us how to get to the pedestrian area of Eger – a couple of minutes’ walk away, so close but far enough away for the hotel to be quiet at night – where there were a large number of restaurants and wine bars (and the castle, well worth a visit!) and suggested places for us to eat, drink and visit; they even told us the best way to get to a nearby thermal baths we told them we were planning to visit on the way back to Budapest. We really enjoyed our stay, köszönöm szépen, Hotel Romantik, thank you very much!

I stayed as part of a large group. There were rooms on the ground floor and the first floor. Some of the downstairs rooms had a kitchenette and access to the garden with table and chairs and a couple of sunloungers outside. My room was upstairs and was nicely furnished with a modern bathroom and hot shower. There was also a fridge in the room. My room had a blind which was very effective at keeping the daylight out in the early morning. There were plenty of plug sockets but no bedside table lamps so it was necessary to switch the light off before getting into bed. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice including Serrano ham. The proprietor and her daughter worked very hard at breakfast to ensure we were well looked after. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again, if in the area. There was free Wifi access in my room no 6. There was no air conditioning.

Mint 20 éve utazó és utaztató szakember nemzetközi viszonylatban 4,6-ot adnék, helyi viszonylatban (ár/érték arányban) 6-ost...ha 5 a felső limit :) I don't even understand why it's so cheap! We were with my family for two nights and it was an amazing experience in every way and I don’t just think about the things that only apply to the hotel. The environment, the approach, the atmosphere of the area was as captivating as the huge room and cleanliness of the hotel, the peace and quiet, the interior design, the balanced and homely atmosphere of the staff. It was an extra donation that there is a separate small kitchen on each floor, where I could go out at dawn to work with my notebook, have coffee, have breakfast (although breakfast is included in the price, only not at 3 in the morning, but at 8 am). As a traveler and guide in Asia for 20 years, I would give 4.6 internationally and 6 locally (price / value ratio) ... if 5 is the upper limit :)

Erla Villa lays in a quite little side-street, with a wonderful ambiance in the old-town of Eger, and offers a perfect starting point for business travellers and sightseers as well. The Villa's asset counts more than 2000 m2, and waits its Guests all year long with jacuzzi, inside pool, sauna and 10 luxury suites, each with their own special ambiance. The Villa's wonderful ornament is the Garden itself, which inculdes a fishpond, a little brook with a veil waterfall, and a relaxing terrace. Luxury desing was created by Zoltán Varró, interior designer, alloying the baroque and the modern style.
I had such mixed feelings after my stay that it took a while to process it and write a review. I made a reservation for 10 days holiday in advance, the person who answered the reservation phone didn't speak English so I wrote a request via mail. I have been suggested 2 rooms for my dates, one of which was a standard double room and another - a two-level duplex. I planned to stay mostly by myself so I picked a smaller one, unfortunately, the picture of it was not at a website. After when my boyfriend decided to join me for a weekend, I asked how much the extra going to be and the answer was that he has to pay the complete amount for 3 days stay though I have already paid the room. It took us 3 emails to figure out that it was a misunderstanding. At arrival we discovered that the room at ground floor that sales girl suggested for my 10 days vacation, which is a long stay considering everyone come for 2-3 days tops, has no natural light, is very cold (end of October is not yet a heating season, so only AC hot air was an option though the batteries are there on the wall), especially the bathroom felt like a cellar. Taking a shower was very uncomfortable and the environment was depressing. I asked to change the room, and an alternative was possible only for 4 nights during the week. The reception girl looked surprised and said that "Tuscany suite is a business room, guests don't stay long there".Why it didn't occur to the booking manager in the first place?!!? Other lovely details to remember 1) Maid knocking at my door at 7.30 am 2) Weird looking grey foam appearing in the jacuzzi every day 3) No instructions for switching on sauna 4) Lost waiter at the breakfast not giving hot breakfast menu to me 5) I was promised to be moved to nicer room for 2 nights but they gave it away to a VIP regular guest instead 6) I cancelled last 2 dinners in advance cause the food was heavy but the ending bill was not detailed and confusing, my feeling was i was charged for it anyway. All in all, I paid 425 650 huf for a lousy cold room and for poor client service. I believe the place is understaffed, the management prefers Hungarian guests to foreigners, that is the only legitimate explanation for this kind of attitude. I live in Hungary for three years now, but it is the first time I felt so disappointed. -

Since February 2009, reborn into its earlier magnificence, situated only 25 kilometers from Eger, La Contessa Castle Hotel**** awaits its honored guests in Szilvásvárad. The neo-barock castle, situated in a 7-hectare botanical park offers the elegant and relaxing atmosphere of old times. The hotel consists of 45 double rooms providing palatial pomp; the comfort of modern ages is represented by a wellness division of 650 square meters and by two conference halls that are perfect venues for smaller training sessions and presentations. The constantly updated wellness packages of the hotel and the local sights and programs offer a relaxing experience you will always remember.
The castle hotel has been renovated before. The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful, clean and well maintained. During the renovation, what was left of the past has been preserved. (We were in the castle building.) The basement wellness area is satisfactory in all respects. The staff is very polite, the food and drink supply and the kitchen are excellent. (Drink prices aren’t cheap.) Anyone who loves calm and quiet will find it here.

We are located in the wooded valley of Matra mountains (1.5 hours from Budapest), offering excellent opportunities for relaxing and wellness.
We spent a long weekend with the family at this hotel. Its location and surroundings are beautiful. The hotel has two wings, a patinated older and a newer one, connected by a hanging corridor. There are two wellness areas. Not too big, but everything you can find, the swimming pool is excellent. Cleanliness and services are adequate. The quantity and quality of the food is moderate. Overall, considering its value for money, it is good in its category.
