Lovely hotel on shore of Ammersee
Reviewed By DavidJerseyCIOur experience was filled with nice touches. When we booked we received confirmation with a picture of the type of room we were going to stay in. As restaurant on reduced menu on Wednesday and Thursday I had requested some suggestions where we could eat and received a comprehensive list. My wife is a coeliac and she was provided with fresh gluten-free bread on both days and encouraged to take some to make a sandwich for lunchtime. All the staff were friendly and helpful without exception and we were made to feel really welcome. Our room was clean and comfortable and matched the picture we were sent. We had a balcony overlooking the lake (albeit somewhat obstructed by trees) and there were cushions and a tablecloth for the balcony furniture. Breakfast was delicious and fresh - able to order whatever eggs liked. We ate at the hotel on the Thursday evening and whilst a reduced menu once again they catered well for my wife - they adapted the Wiener Schnitzel. The hotel is right by the lake and the promenade which leads to other restaurants and provides a really nice run. In summary cannot praise staff enough and hotel was extremely comfortable and convenient.

We are situated close to a public shore and spa gardens and various hiking trails are reachable within minutes. Just in front of our hotel lies the jetty of the historical steamboat that takes you around the lake. Also, the train station is only a short stroll away and the regional express railroad takes you to different attractive destinations such as Munich and other beautiful towns within the Upper Bavaria area. Our 43 rooms are nicely furnished and comfortably equipped with shower/lavatory, hairdryer, TV, radio, telephone and partly WLAN. The lake view

Reviewed By thegoldenNomadThe location is premium and right by the lake. It’s a busy place with lots of tourists passing by. The service was quick to find us a table but we had to wait for a long time to place our order, local specialities. The food was slammed on the table giving us the feeling just being a number that needs to be fed and cashed in. The soup was of great taste unfortunately it arrived lukewarm, on a cold day a hot soup would have been great. The mains were just warm, too. The taste was good. The service (only non german nationalities) was there to make money, not living hospitality. You can’t blame them. The overall experience was ok. Though a little smile would go a long way and make this experience so much better. I guess taking the current circumstances into consideration you shouldn’t expect too much and understand businesses need to make up for this years losses...

Reviewed By Carolina BIt used to be nice but now the food is not good anymore. Actually, is a failure. There are better options by the Ammersee (lake). In the sinter is hot like hell inside and in the summer is full of insects.

Peaceful Family Run Hotel
Reviewed By linskitoursWe spent two nights here. It is in a quiet area with very easy parking. Breakfast is good. The bed was comfortable. My one gripe was that there were no proper curtains and the shutters were not closeable. I like a dark bedroom and we were at the front (which is always lit up at night) on the road and over the main entrance. Not great sleep quality. But that apart (and as long as you are ok with stone floors) it's a nice hotel!

Greatly improved decor
Reviewed By qub47I stayed here last year when I felt the decor was a bit tired. Since there has been a huge refurbishment gone on. The last bits are happening: the wooden stairs were being sanded and revarnished. The rooms have a contemporary feel with wood floors, wood and rattan furniture, up to date bathrooms and comfortable beds. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast buffet is not the largest you may find in Bavaria but perfectly sufficient on a self service basis. The adjacent restaurant offers decent local food. The location is very central opposite the local S-Bahn station to Munich and just yards from the lakeside and its long promenade. Easy access to shops and the departure point for lake boat cruises. Our room faced the road, and earplugs were provided, but not needed.

When nice staff makes all the difference
Reviewed By Tracy MA beautiful Bavarian hotel in a charming town. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was included and delicious. What really set this hotel apart was the staff. We were greeted by the nicest woman we have ever met. We made it right before the end of the night for the desk staff, but she made us feel very welcome and not at all rushed. The location is not as close to the lake as we would have liked, but the service made up for it. Plus there is easy parking which is great. It was quiet and relaxing. Our friends who were visiting absolutely loved it. We even forgot our son's favorite toy and before we could call about it, it had arrived at our home in the mail! We were so appreciative and look forward to staying there again!

The facilities are well thought out, the rooms are functional and pleasant- and the surroundings are ideal for early morning (or other time) walks to think through work (and maybe life) strategies. The food is home made and locally produced. Don't miss the scrambled eggs at breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Hotel is OK but nothing special

The view is OK, but the balcony is a bit higher than the floor in the room and so you can see from the bed only balcony wall. But you have behind the balcony door a door with a mosquito net. Beds are comfortable, bathroom big and huge TV. Wifi fast and stable. Breakfast you will get in the family hotel in front "Hotel Seehof". Here you will get your keys and will have to go for every request. I could not get a room in the Hotel Seehof and I think this would be a better choice. I do not like the red carpet in the room. It is not the room I have expected for this price.
