As a Mom of three, we always need to take into consideration, if this would be a "child friendly choice?" Never in my life, did I think this experience would be THIS remarkable!!! Friendly staff, super neat, clean, proffesional and unbelievably rememberable!! Surrounded by views, for days .... we have had more than just "a pleasant stay!!" I will save these memories in my heart, forever! Thank you Alida, and your team!! You may tap yourselves on the shoulder!!! DEFINATELY a place we will revisit!! 11 out of 10!

We wanted to relax and this was the perfect place to do just that. The nature around makes it even more relaxing. The management was extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean with a very comfortable bed. We'll definitely be back.

The lodge is situated in a private game reserve, with very kind owners that love and respect the animals. From our lodge, we could see the giraffes at a couple of meters away, it was incredible. The lodge itself is surprisingly luxurious, given that it’s in the middle of nature. There is a jacuzzi, perfect airco, and even fast and stable wifi. Our host took us on a game drive to see rhinos, hippos, and lions, and we even booked a helicopter tour with them to fly over the reserve and the sea, where we saw great white sharks. In summary, great place, could definitely have stayed longer, would definitely go back.

The pics taken to promote this hotel is SO misguiding! I’m actually at a loss and not sure how to fairly write this review! The photos you see on all the promotional platforms are heavily edited. And are mostly of the rooms in the front of the hotel that have a view. Please don’t be misled. Do not expect to find what you see on these platforms. If you do not have a room facing the river you are basically stuck in a a small dated what appears to resemble a granny flat or renovated tandem garage. The finishes and decor are from 80’s or early 90. There is no toilet paper and no little bath shower gels or anything pretty and fresh. The room is dark and gloomy, no aircon. There’s a old dirty fan that squeaks all night. The tiles are so sticky you wouldn’t dare walk bare feet. The rooms are just to sad to mention. The hotel in front ONLY has beautiful views and a beautiful pool area and that’s where it ends for this establishment. The focus is on the pool and the river and yet there are no pool chairs / sun beds to even relax on in this area and enjoy time away from your room which you WILL need to do. So you will need to lay on the grass. I feel absolutely cheated and robbed having paid to stay here. Ps: Sheets are stained and are yellow. For the price - there are other beautiful places in the area! Fortunately for us we only stayed one night as we off to our holiday destination for 10 days. Please be warned!!! Ps. staff are friendly, food is below average and guests walk around the place not wearing masks. Very very sad

Good things were: Clean facilities, comfortable bed. Manager friendly until you tell the truth about problems encountered. Terrible experience was: Do you want the truth about what I experienced? No hot water in the shower so I could not wash my hair, complicated tv system barely operable (kept dropping signal and gave errors), dogs barking all night, horrible smell in the courtyard, and when I wanted to get hold of the manager, she was not on the premises. I left a day early and asked for another date or partial refund which was flat out refused. The manager even went so far as to accuse me of being dishonest with my reasons for leaving and said that it was because my friends could not join me (I am nearly 50 so don't need friends to entertain myself). Not to mention all the rules - don't dare take a piece of paper out of the info book as it will cost you R150. Don't do this, don't do that - I wanted a break not to be in school. Oh and the R500 CASH breakage deposit is written in the small print of your booking so beware. I have stayed at various establishments all over the place for the past 28 plus years and this is the first time I have been made to feel so awkward when I point out issues. The cherry on top was that I was uncomfortable with the idea of being the only woman on the premises when the next group of guests were due to arrive (men only). I had initially tried to shift my dates but the manager was not willing to compromise and instead started accusing me of things. I will therefore NEVER recommend this establishment and am expecting my full stay to be refunded (not only the single night I refused to stay and put up with the troubles).

The new owners Rona and Lood were very accommodating and friendly. The accommodation was spacious and clean. There was very little road noise as the house is adjacent to an open field. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
