A nice mid-range hotel that is close to the freeway. Please note there is nothing within walking distance, so you will have to drive to eat or do anything else. My king bed room was spacious, with a chaise lounge for reading or relaxing. Included a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Sink had lots of counter space and was inside the bathroom, which I prefer to the trend of placing sinks outside the bathroom. My only complaint is that the air conditioner was set to 68 Farenheit and the room was freezing. I turned the air conditioner off and never had to turn it back on.

While the property and furnishings are first rate, there are a few things that weren’t (as discussed in survey): toilet paper quality inferior, some minimal service should be made to the rooms daily (check supply status: toilet paper, cups, coffee, possible need for clean towels). Grilled chicken at Thursday night event was almost inedible as it was quite over cooked.

Despite "Mask Up" signs prominently displayed on this property, neither patrons nor staff seemed to pay any attention to them. A breakfast room attendant did wear a mask, but it covered only his chin and lower jaw, leaving his mouth and nose open to breathe the Covid virus in and out. Ditto for one of the desk attendants. A busload of young baseball players arrived for an overnight stay, but without a mask in sight. The breakfasts were quite disappointing. One one morning, there were freshly cooked scrambled eggs, along with biscuits and gravy, but other days only offered heated packages of unidentifiable breaded stuff that had no appeal whatsoever. A sign on the wall apologized for the minimal fare, but offered no reason for it. Due to the extremely thick box springs and mattresses, climbing into bed is a no mean feat for a person who is fairly short. That's why a step-ladder may be helpful. The beds, however, were quite comfortable, and our room was clean.

Convenient location, slightly dated furnishings, but very clean. An extremely friendly staff with a very good complimentary breakfast buffet. Enjoyed the mulberry trees, too. The HVAC was kind of noisy, but the beds were comfortable and there was no noise from the nearby interstate during the night.

I stayed here twice in the same month. The first time coming was to meet with a team to get the logistics of the hotel for an upcoming conference. I went across the street to eat at Carrabas and got a flat tire. The hotel sent a driver to pick me up so I would not miss my meeting. The bed was comfortable and the room clean, The bathroom had products that was more masculine in smell, so I am sure most people like having products. I would not recommend Joseph's restaurant, as a small group was there and service was terrible. They had staff walking around, but the service made the experience lack.

I cannot recommend this hotel for families or business travelers. The hotel just seems like a low-end place to stay. They have construction ongoing but there is no effort at outside upkeep during it and with only one entrance it is definitely inconvenient. Inside was okay but not worth the cost.

Nice hotel, pleasantly surprised. First time at a La Quinta. Large breakfast selection and very modern clean room. Price was a little high but service and room was worth it. Would stay again next time in town.

Our history begins in 1903, when the building was constructed to house the burgeoning corporate empire of Cone Export and Commission Company. At the time it was said to be “in every way up-to-date and well appointed.” This means completed wired for electricity and plumbing, and in 1920, they added one of Greensboro’s first unmanned elevators to the building; it is the one we still use today. They occupied the space until 1924 when they moved to larger building around the corner. At that time, the building housed local insurance companies. It was in 1929, that the building was converted to living quarters. Half of the building was used as an annex to the local post office, until 1932, and the other half was listed in the city directory as furnished rooms. The Greenwich, as it became known as the following year, was one of the first to offer private baths for around $2.00 a day. In the late ‘40s, early 50s, it became known as the Greenwich Apartments and stayed this way until the mid-1960s. In the late ‘60s, the building reopened as the Greenwich Inn, and a new face was brought to the building by renowned interior designer Otto Zenke. He modeled the hotel after an English hunting club and decorated the lobby as an old world drawing-room with walnut paneling and traditional hunting scenes. The hotel changed ownership once again 1992, and was renamed the Biltmore Greensboro Hotel. Today, we pride ourselves as a fine boutique establishment, offering old world charm accentuated by modern amenities you would find at any hotel of distinction. Under new ownership since 2007, we look forward to continuing to provide memorable experiences for all our guests. Stay once and not only will we remember your name but the little things like your favorite room or you need for a late checkout. It is always “no problem.”
Stayed only one night. 3 couples. We LOVED Brian's (manager) historical stories of the hotel. Hailey (desk) was amazing, too. So very nice and helpful, both of them. One couple ordered the charcuterie board/wine and it was HUGE and amazingly delicious. Kudos to Brian. Location of hotel was perfect for seeing little downtown Greensboro. We walked (5 minutes) from the Amtrack station. There were several great pubs and eateries within a block of the hotel. The window AC unit worked great... cooled my room to 64° in no time. There was some noise at night from the window and that's because one of the windows was Plexiglass. The room we stayed in definitely needs a new mattress.... we expected old, vintage, etc.. so were not disappointed by anything else. Amenities are very nice. Mini-fridge. Blow dryer. Umbrella. Free continental breakfast. No microwave or safe in room, though. Hotel area felt very safe.
