Stayed as Spire AMB. The stuff are not trained to welcome foreign guests at all. I understand it's a iregular case because of the Covid-19 but their handlings of foreign guests reservasion was just caos. Also, no one here speaks English and their attitude towards guests was just horrible. Not recommended at all to foreign guests. Chinese local hotels are much better.

Super disappointed about the Westin Changbaishan. Service is inexistant, when you ask something to the staff they just leave and never come back. It’s far for the ski slope and overpriced. Food is disaster and crap. At breakfast the Westin is working like old style hotel. One fill of food at 7am one refill at 8 and one at 9am. So if you arrive at 7:20 to the breakfast there is simply nothing left. Not mentioning the quality of the food which is disaster and level of 1 star hotel not 5 for sure. We have paid 3500rmb (500$) per night and stayed a week. This is definitely worth of maximum 1000 and I am more than honest saying this. For the new year eve they had a “special event” and the cost was 999rmb per pax. The food was exactly the same than the other days at the conventional buffet. Staff are totally unprofessional and not trained. We have at many times tried to reach the GM of the resort Mr Eddie Zhao ([email protected]) but that person was on holidays (yes during peak season) and we were told that he was not able to be reach. Last but not the least, the last day before to leave my AirPod has been stolen in the room. To avoid absolutely!

We stayed using points and were pleasantly surprised that we were recognized with Platinum status on checkin with an upgrade to a one bedroom suite on checkin. We were accompanied to our suite by Alice who was very welcoming and spoke great English! We loved a platter of fruit, desserts, alcoholic beverages, and a card from Guest Service Manager welcoming us to the hotel. We were told that shuttle to the ski center would be every 20 minutes, but it was more frequent than that. Ski center was confusing and huge, but we had an amazing English speaking ski instructor named Bird who helped us with our equipment and ski lifts passes. They were part of Sheraton so we didn’t have to pay. The inclusion of ski lifts tickets and equipment are one of the many benefits of skiing in China compared to the US. Big thanks to Doris from Front Desk who helped us so much with restaurant reservations, getting refund from our ski center deposit, etc. The Font Desk Staff were all very helpful. We were able to only get the names of Doris, Alice, Tina, and Bob but then other staff members were friendly as well! The morning breakfast buffet had a great mix of eastern and western food. The brezel or bread combined with pretzel at the bake goods were to die for! At one point, I requested that they make fresh pancake for me as I saw one of the guests touch the food. One of the staff, Tiger, was so awesome and made fresh pancakes for me and my husband. Thanks to Tiger, Lilian, Herry, and others staff at breakfast. There’s a free shuttle bus to the airport that we didn’t know when we arrived but took on our return flight which was very convenient. Changbaishan Airport was only 30 minutes away. Overall skiing experience in Changbaishan was a lot better than Lake Songhua. We can’t wait to return!

Location is good and front desk staff are helpful but don't think it's worth the brand "resort".....Can't disagree with an earlier comment on the room termp. Though it's September, to keep the room temp at 26oC was a bit hot indeed to us even at night that I got a "hot" flu, running nose and sneezing. We already tuned the control down to 15oC but the room temp was static at 25-27oC.

Just stayed here over the very busy Chinese New Year holiday period. We stayed in a suite in villa 6. Cash rates include skiing, points rates do not. Our goal was to teach my family how to ski and this was the perfect hotel for this goal. We paid for private lessons: Beginner coach 550 rmb, ~1050 for mid, ~1400 rmb for advanced. We booked mid and high for our first 2 days, and they were good. The ski slopes themselves are good but nothing special. My first impression was it was like a hill more than a mountain. This is no Vail, Aspen, Whistler or Niseko. Still, it was a fun experience overall and good for beginners. Even during high season, the lines up the cable cars were never very long (2 minutes). It got crowded at times on the slopes but generally people were respectful. As for the Park Hyatt...The suites are nice and spacious. They probably will need a renovation in 3 years, but I was happy with the size and quality of the room. Le Labo Bergamote toiletries, Nongfu water not the 5100 I've seen in other PHs, Nespresso machine. My only slight problem was that we were in villa 6 which is separate from the main building so it was real cold and a little inconvenient to walk to the main building for the gym or pool. I'm not sure if there are suites in the main building. I did enjoy the outdoor hot tub which was nice experience being surrounded by snow while dunking outside. The gym was adequate. Nothing great, nothing bad w 22 KGs dumbells at heaviest and some machines. Breakfast was ok but subpar for a PH. Dinner has fabulous Chinese food and is not too pricey. It was actually surprisingly cheap for Chinese food. Because the PH is higher up the mountain and thus a long walk, we didn't come back for lunch and ate at KFC. There is ski In and ski out but only from one beginner path and not at night. This makes the PHs location inconvenient relative to Hyatt Regency whose ski house is right at the base of the mountain. Walking up the hill with skis at night to return everything was unpleasant with a kid. There's virtually nothing to do in the town. We basically skiied and ate bigger meals in the PH. They didn't recommend we go to Tianchi as far away and cold. They said to try in September. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely come back. If you are a serious skiier, you'll probably be disappointed but is perfect for beginners. We had a few service issues that shouldn't have happened but they were quickly resolved by the GM and front desk manager. Their service was excellent and I'm thankful to them. The hotel is quite nice but nothing over the top special. I'm a loyal PH type of person, so I'll stay here again but if cash prices were really cheap at HR compared to PH (say 60% cheaper), I might go there. But I expect to come here once or twice a year to ski. Two thumbs up

Hotel is located at the foot of Changbaishan, in the center of splendid forest with convenient transportation accessibility. It is only 20 minutes’ away from Changbaishan Airport and 5 minutes’ away from Chixi Tourist Service Center. Hotel features 299 stunning decorated and spacious rooms, includes 18 luxurious suites, 4 room style for guests to choose from, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.
The hotel is very good, excellent room and very clean but heating in the hotel was off, then very very cold inside. Bar, executive lounge and 2 of 3 restaurants were closed. So, although the infrastructure of the hotel is very good, stay was not comfortable due to the temperature inside and lack of options to eat.

Changbai Mountain View Hotel embraces the integration of Eastern and Western cultures in a very romantic setting. With its lofty hilltop site the Hotel overlooks a vast ocean of forest and faces squarely the immense panorama of Changbai mountain volcano. The Hotels unique layered design gives the hotel lobby, each and every room a superb view and a wide field of vision.
Our stay here has been very pleasant. The rooms have a beautiful view, and are well-fitted and comfortable to stay in. Service in the hotel is VERY friendly. Our appreciation to Bob and Ada who have been super helpful at all times, and to the restaurant team. One suggestion: the restaurant is nice enough, and has an open view; it could do with some beautifying and with a larger menu selection. Nothing that dampened our stay though. It was overall very good.
