The staff, room and food were all very good. I was however disappointed when they closed off the pool and swimming area, the day after a large group were enjoying both. I would recommend staying at this hotel, but call first to check on deck and pool if that is important to you. It looked very inviting, I just wish we could have used it.

The hotel NH Palacio de Oquendo is a charming hotel in Caceres, Spain, ideally located at the entrance to the ancient fortifications that still surround the historical city center. The central plaza, shopping, and business of Caceres are very close to the hotel and easy to access.
There isn’t a window but there is a skylight without a shade/blind option, making the room very hot during the day and difficult to cool down at night. If I wanted to sleep in after the sunrise, I had to wear my eye mask. Even at night, the sky brightened the room. However, the location of the hotel is fantastic. The breakfast was excellent and the service great. The skylight issue should be an easy fix for the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

The hotel is conveniently located on the main square in Merida. The square provides a good choice of dining refreshment. The hotel is a short walk from several important historical sites. The hotel has a small roof top pool which was useful for cooling off in the unusually warm weather this May. Driving around Merida can be a bit daunting so the option of valet parking is useful.

This newly built hotel opened its doors in May 2004. Its special architecture and excellent qualities make it one of the city’s primary locations for holding business meetings as well as for enjoying quality tourism. Enjoy the excellent location, right in the main shopping and commercial center of Badajoz, very close to the Congress Hall.

I'm not going to write a long review A newly renovated small hotel inside a bigger building. I think this fits the "Hostal" (not "Hostel") category for Spain. About two-thirds of the rooms are in a hallway accessed from the high side of the building and about one-third of the rooms are on the floor below in the back accessed from the outside. Each apartment was like a typical four star hotel room with the addition of a kitchen wall. Everything was nice, clean, quiet, and comfortable. I especially liked the individual heat pump (climate control) for the room. It's conveniently located about a 10 minute walk from the train station and just a five minute walk to the main tourist attraction (Roman theatre/amphitheatre combo). Merida has a small walkable core area with most of the sightseeing close by. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this property. We enjoyed our 2 night stay very much. My only caution is that it is a small property (<20 rooms) and doesn't have the amenities of a larger property that some people might expect (no 24 hour lobby, breakfast, business center, etc.).

Well sited hôtel - as are most Paradores hôtels. The bar is discrete, serves pleasant dry Sherry at less tgan €3 a glass. Next to the grou d floor bar, one can use the shaded, inner courtyard for seating. Much recomended for locals or tourists.

I found this hotel through Booking.com. The reason for my stay was to pay a short visit to a friend in Merida. Well, I brought a gift I wanted to give to my friend, and I wanted to give it to her someplace private. I don't think I need to disclose the reason for doing this, do I? Well, I brought her to the hotel, went in and the gentleman at reception greeted us, we did so back and headed upstairs to my room. Two minutes later, I received a call from reception asking me to pay more money because the room I was staying in was a single room and not a double. At that moment, I felt embarrassed in the presence of my friend because who in their mind would call a customer in their room at 02:00 am to ask him to pay more for his room given that now it was two of us and not just me??? I was very upset. Really upset. My friend spent less than 2 hours in my room. No, she didn't stay with me. But I still paid for a double room. I think the person behind the desk went overboard with me and did not do his job professionally. I don't recommend staying at this place unless you have absolutely no other choice, and if I was you, I would be sure to check with reception before doing anything you might think is ok, but later would be added to your bill... I will never ever do business again with these thieves.

Hotel built with classic, Roman decor and modern comforts is located near historic monuments.
Arrived at 2am. Friendly night porter. One room smelt of smoke and the other had a loose headboard. Rather tired decor. Left too early next morning for breakfast. Parking very convenient next door for a small fee. Some off street parking available directly in front of hotel.

Merida, the capital of Extremadura and declared World Heritage. In this city the Hotel Mérida Medea Affiliated by Meliá is the ideal location for an unforgettable visit and obligatory stop on the Ruta de la Plata. Situated close to the commercial an leisure areas and a few minutes away from the Palace the Congress and the city’s historical centre.
We booked this hotel as it was convenient for our trip home. We'd actually stayed before and now I know why we'd never been since. Quite possibly the worst 4* hotel I've ever stayed in. The beds were awful. Sprung mattress with the springs at the surface of the mattress. The hotel have tried to improve comfort by using slightly padded mattress protectors. I actually tried turning the mattress over but it was so old it seems it's been turned before, someone had written initials on the corners! I was so uncomfortable that I went back to my car and got the airbed out that I had with me in case we'd ended up staying in a mobile home or due to covid, a hotel we weren't sure of cleanliness. I actually slept on a blow up bed on the floor. I did mention it to reception who offered to change us to the room next door but it was exactly the same. The beds were also on castors at the head end and rocked around! The furniture is dated, the fittings and fixtures old. This hotel is in need of major refurbishment. Although the hotel is very dated and the rooms tatty, the room was as clean as an old room could be. The cleaners do a great job with a poor base!
