Things to do in Escaldes-Engordany Parish

Whenever we enjoy a moment of happiness and tranquillity, we would like time to stand still. Except at Hotel Mola Park Atiram. Because things get better and better with every second that passes here. Located in the heart of Escaldes, near the Caldea spa, Inuuu and the Grandvalira and Vallnord ski slopes and a stone’s throw from Vivand, it offers infinite possibilities. Its 88 rooms, wide range of culinary and dietary options, and its unbeatable customer service will make your stay an oasis of tranquillity. Time does go by. But every second is unforgettable here.
Booked this hotel through Weekendesk. Yes, I know, I should have booked it directly but weekendesk's offer stated a welcome gift and free bottled water which were non-existent when we arrived. Such a scam, but probably not the hotel's fault. They should check their contract with weekendesk though if they have one. Anyway, Hotel's check in time is a bit late, 16h00. I'm not sure if it is the standard check in time in that area but it is the latest check-in time I've ever had with staying in hotels. We sent a message that we arrived early but the room was not ready when we arrived, which is understandable as they cannot promise early check in. Since we arrived early, the receptionist asked us to do a pre check-in. They don't have their own parking area. You would need to pay and get a card from the hotel which will give you access to the caldea spa parking area right across the street. Pre check in was fast although I find it unecessary for them to ask for identification from all the people that are staying in the room. Usually, in all the places i have stayed in, they would only ask for one ID. But again, maybe it is standard practice in Andorra, i'm not sure. After check-in, we parked our car and walked around the city then enjoyed the caldea spa. We went back to the hotel and was greeted by a male receptionist this time. He barely spoke english and an understandable french, but he was nice. He gave us the keys to the room which was located on the 3rd floor. The room though had two single beds eventhough we booked a double. So We had to ask the receptionist to change our rooms which he quickly did. Although they never offered assistance with luggage. Usually when there is a need to change the room, hotels would usually offer luggage assistance, but it's ok as we managed. Finally got the room with the double bed, and it was ok. Functional but not well kept. A bit dirty and you could see that it needs refurbishment. I see wear and tear all over and the small mirror's extending fixture was broken. Also, the air conditioning didn't deem to work properly as it was quite warm in the room so we just opened the windows. The room had no view and wifi was not very fast. I got disconnected a couple of times Which was frustrating. We had half board, and dinner wasn't very good. Not a lot of options and the food tasted like they were frozen or came from the can and were just heated in the microwave. i don't recommend eating there. Bed and pillows were decent and we slept well. Breakfast buffet was good with a lot of sweet and salty options. Although the staff were not really as helpful as the staff during dinner time. Check-out was fast although we had to go back to return The parking card and get our deposit back. They should just give disposable parking tickets next time to lessen the hassle. Overall, it was an ok stay. You get what you paid for, but wouldn't really recommend staying there as there are other better 4 star options in the city. Although it would be a convenient accomodation if you came to andorra for the caldea spa.

We spent one night in Andorra during a trip mainly to see Barcelona. I chose this hotel because it was a good price, has a spa area and offered parking. The half-board option was also convenient so we wouldn't have to spend extra time deciding on a restaurant for dinner. It worked out really well! Check-in was a breeze and we learned upon check-in that our reservation included time in the hot tub in the spa area. We were expecting to have to pay extra for that, so it was a welcome surprise. Our room was spacious enough for one night and included all the amenities we needed (shampoo, soap, etc). The room faced a rushing stream which was perfect white noise during our sleep. We normally use a white noise app on our phone, but it was not needed this time. The bed and pillows were perfectly comfortable. The spa area was nice and we enjoying hanging out in the hot tub after walking around the town for a bit. Our reservation included half board. Dinner was from a fixed menu, but there were some good options to choose from and our meal was tasty. The server was not super friendly, but efficient. Breakfast had good options and variety and we were fueled up perfectly for our drive back to Barcelona for the rest of our trip. Parking is available for an extra fee in a lot down the street from the hotel.

Recently stayed here for a Thursday and Friday night stay. First and foremost was the price of the accommodation (€56 per night for 2 people with breakfast included), we didn’t think deals like this existed anymore. What seems to be rule of thumb, is a manager/owner that believes a small profit is better than a empty room. A lot could learn? The hotel is in its own 3 sided cul-de-sac. Hotel, it’s parking (underground) is to the left and straight on, restaurant and apartments to the right. It is situated on the main shopping street in Andorra and is about a quarter of the way down. If you turn right, there are a few shops, but, turn left and tax free shopping begins in earnest. The room was good, in fact for a 3 star, it was very good. Yes, there are a couple of warts, but we have stayed in pro ported 4 star hotels in France, that cannot hold a light to Les Closes. Add the discounted room rate and bingo. Breakfast is fair, it is limited but there is plenty and it is replenished quickly. Quality is above basic, but, for the price of the room, the owner does have to make some profit. Parking is €18 a day. Some will say this is steep! I call it cheap compared to a €100 fine for illegal parking, or having to walk 3 miles for a parking spot, but that’s just me. Now, finding the hotel and parking is not the easiest if you have not been before. Also, if you use a Tom-Tom beware, it tells you to go down a pedestrian only road. This was kindly pointed out by the policeman who stopped me, the irony, is that you still have to cross the pedestrian road/area to arrive or leave the hotel. That said, for what we got, for what we paid, it’s really nice to come away having a good hotel at a remarkable price.

We were supposed to be staying at Hotel Roc Blanc this weekend, but unfortunately we were effectively turned away as we entered the hotel due to the Coronavirus outbreak and Andorra’s decision to close the borders. However I wanted to write a review as the hotel handled it brilliantly, it was clearly a shock to the staff as well and they will be affected by it, yet they were keen to help us, very apologetic and communicated with taxis and the local buses to ensure we knew how to get back to Barcelona. They dealt with it with dignity and care and we really appreciated it. Thank you.

After booking this hotel through a deal on Secret Escapes, we were pleasantly surprised! Although the hotel is not anywhere near the ski slopes, they do offer a small free mini bus ride to the gondola which will take you to the slopes. On our first day we realised that you had to book the shuttle a day in advance and the earliest you could call up was 8am. Seems fairly reasonable, however when we called ahead a day before at 8am the popular spaces were already taken! We managed to get a few rides at later times there and back and when we weren’t able to catch a lift we caught the local bus which took us to the gondola (around €3.20 for 2 people, 1 way). The rooms were lovely, really comfortable bed, complimentary shampoos and shower gels and small TV. There is also a mini fridge which you can store some water or snacks you might buy at the local supermarket next door. Rooms are definitely not sound proof-we had some noisy neighbours who would meet late at night in the corridor and in the neighbouring room to have a chat -(Although the floor throughout the building would be a nice hangout zone, the red carpet looks quite comfy to sit on!) What ever you do, do NOT pack your swim suit. After finding it on the top floor we were escorted to a very VERY small rectangle with already a family of 6 taking up the beds, the pool, the showers and the steam room. The staff member asked us to put our valuables and clothes into small fabric cubby holes situated right by the elevator (no lockers - very unsafe), before we took off our shoes into another cubby hole along the corridor. If you’re visiting make sure you say you’re using you’re free session - why anyone would actually pay to be there really beats me - so don’t get pushed into paying (which we nearly were by the staff member sitting by the pool). After having 10 minutes sitting in the corner of the pool with screaming children, we decided to leg in when we saw another family arrive and try squeeze in with their family of 8!There was no crown control or limit of people in the pool area as the woman watching the pool area had left and hadn’t come back even after we changed and waited a further 10 minutes. The food was what you pay for. A lot of the food is a mixture of Italian, French and Spanish and are made up of very unusual combinations like chicken and squid stew, or leg of lamb with jus (no potatoes, no veg - just lamb in juice). All the desserts are served cold including pies and rice puddings. The wine list is reasonable and they charge little for large bottles of water. The breakfasts are nice with a hot and cold buffet, pastries, meats, cereals, fruits and juices available. I’d recommend being there before 9am as it gets quite busy at peak times! The staff said there were complimentary teas, coffees and pastries by reception but we never saw any pastries at any point during our stay which was disappointing when we wanted a snack after skiing. Overall an average stay -reception staff were very lovely!

Excellent stay. Central to shopping, very well organized for Covid precautions. Clean and friendly and helpful staff. Parking worth the 20 euros. Well served buffet breakfast. A shame the bar was closed and the restaurant for lunch and dinner due to Covid.

We have recently moved to Andorra and were looking for a serviced apartment. We found a one bedroom, living room and a fully-equipped kitchen at Hotel Cosmos. The receptionists were very helpful and very friendly. The room was a bit dated but very clean. We stayed at this hotel almost a month before moving to a furnished apartment, awaiting our residency. The price was very reasonable and the location is great, with 2 supermarkets and a fruit store within a minute walk from the hotel. The laundromat is right opposite which opens daily from 7am to 10pm. A few steps from the shopping mile makes it easy to get around. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel

Located at the junction of Andorra La Vella and les Escaldes, in the very heart of Andorra, the Hotel Princep is quite possibly the best choice for those who consider the hotel's location the key factor when making a decision. The hotel has 50 double rooms spread over 5 floors, as well as a Japanese UDON restaurant, a meeting room for a maximum of 25 people, free wi-fi access throughout the whole premises, a ski storage area and parking in the hotel's vicinity.
Hotel Exe Princep is always my first choice when I'm heading to Andorra. I've stayed there for 3 times already and I will comeback for more. The location is perfect, right in the city center of Andorra La Vella, the rooms are warm, comfortable and modern. Restaurant is good and not expensive. An inside pool would be a great addition, but you have the biggest spa in Europe just a few minutes away. Staff is very friendly. Nothing to complain. Totally recommend it.

The Hotel Exe Prisma is a family paradise in Les Escaldes: it has rooms and suites for two, three, four... even seven people! The superior family rooms have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, 60 m2 and a maximum capacity of 7 people. The Hotel Exe Prisma has 55 rooms of different sizes and capacities, its own pizzeria, gym, ski storage, WiFi connection throughout the entire premises, private parking, charging point for electric vehicles, reading room and fireplace, among others.
Hotel is basic but clean and well located in middle of town. Unfortunately one staff member in particular was extremely rude and unhelpful. Most likely the manager, totally unwilling to go out of her way to be in helpful at all, a real attitude problem. I would suggest you send her on a course to educate her in the basic customer care. To summarise if you’re looking for service with a smile don’t stay here. Other than that it’s a decent hotel.

The hotel "In situ Eurotel" is situated in Les Escaldes, just 400 metres from Caldea Thermal Spa. It offers functional rooms with flat-screen satellite TV and a safe. At only 700 metres from the main shopping streets of Andorra la Vella. The hotel is a 15 minute drive or bus ride from Encamp, where you can take the funicular to Grandvalira Ski Resort. "La Massana" Ski funicular is a 10 minute drive away. The hotel's restaurant serves varied buffet breakfast. There is also a café-bar including TV. Free Wi-Fi is available in all the hotel, and ski storage and private parking are possible on site.
I stayed at the Eurotel for four nights in September 2019. The reception staff and management were very friendly and helpful. On arrival the receptionist came to my room to resolve an issue with the bathroom. After having checked out and returned to the UK I realised I had left behind three important items of clothing. Two days after returning I telephoned the hotel and they arranged for the clothes to be packaged up and posted to my home. I am most grateful for their helpful response.
