Reviewed By Borborygmi2018The few positives: pretty gardens, comfortable bed The many negatives: no hot water in the shower, faulty air conditioning, no chairs to sit outside hotel room in the garden, only 11 sun loungers for the entire guest population, and worst of all ABSOLUTELY APPALLING SERVICE. No service around the pool so we tried to get a drink in the bar on 2 separate occasions to bring outside. Restaurant and bar staff were rude, hostile and dismissive on both occasions. Won’t be returning here and would advise anyone who is thinking of staying here to think again and choose elsewhere!!!! It is not the relaxing lush holiday break it purports to be!!!

Reviewed By bigaldesA totally enchanting experience. Greeted by the wonderfully friendly and English-speaking Mayte we were charmed by the luxury of the Areca. The hotel boasts so many individual areas to enjoy .. garden, spa, gym, solarium, lounges, bars and restaurants ! All so very calmingly comforting. Our room .. superb! Well-equipped, spotlessly clean and luxurious. Huge bed and an even larger jacuzzi bath enhancing all this. An evening in the bar was so much fun. After an exhausting week a few drinks and then a super choice of bar meals as we just didn’t want to sample the most interesting restaurant menu. A young man, Nestor, looked after my wife and me quite charmingly and entertained with his efficiency, wit and obvious personality. A great night’s sleep and then we were whisked to the nearby airport by the hotel shuttle and its most entertaining driver. A great mini-adventure .. wonderful surroundings and a hotel team that must be amongst the most friendly and helpful in the hospitality industry. All delivered at a more than acceptable cost and, if I say that, it must be true !

Reviewed By yvan2219good hotel, with covid it is not a normal situation but all necessary preconscious are present many problems with door cards, sometimes it is working only one time some problems with shower head, was broken after cleaning of the room, but no repair.

The wrong choice for us
Reviewed By teresab548We were very disappointed with the location , as we have stayed at the sister hotel in Elche which we love but was full up for the dates we needed . This property is not close to any real amenities unless you count over priced outlay shops . There was not a bar or restaurant you could walk to . We asked on arrival about that and we’re advised that there were some locally as we were there for 6 nights we would have liked to be able to walk to bars and restaurants as it was after we searched the are we found only one bar which was half closed . The saving grace for this hotel was its staff from reception to cleaners and bar staff they were smashing . The menu for the day 12 Euros included was a drink of your choice seamed good value but not particularly in the end . We send uncooked chicken back uncooked Turkey l left and the first breakfast I had was stone cold , when I complained to the waitress she went off and cooked me a fresh breakfast. That’s what I mean about the staff so helpful

Reviewed By 4UnowhereNecesitábamos un hotel para pasar la noche, y lo reservé por las buenas opiniones aunque ahora me planteo que criterio tiene la gente o si estuve en un hotel diferente. El hotel está ubicado en la carretera pero las carreteras estaban en obras y tuvimos que dar muchas vueltas. Al principio todo parecía bien, gel para las manos, te dan una bolsita con jabón, mascarilla...y entonces entramos en la habitación. El precio es por los servicios que ofrece un hotel no debería estar reñido con la limpieza, unas manchas enormes en las paredes de grasa o de algo que prefiero no saber, la taza del WC aunque estaba limpia estaba marrón del uso pasado, un calor enorme y aunque pusimos el aire tardo en enfriar. Sinceramente estuvimos lo menos posible, para descansar y nos fuimos sin tocar lo menos posible. Lo único bueno, el personal fue amable en todo momento y tenían un parking para meter el coche que se cierra. The hotel is located on the road, but we had to go around and around because the free-ways were under contruction. Once we were there at first, everything seemed normal, they give you a small bag with soap and mask, but once we got to the room it was disgusting. There were strange stains on the walls, I prefer not knowing what it was. The room was extremely hot, even with the air-conditioning took time to cool off. The bathroom seemed clean, but then the bowl of the toilet had like old brown stains which was disgusting. I ask my son to touch the less possible. We slept because we were really tired and left as soon as we could. I always believe that the price of a hotel should be related with the services offered, not with the cleanness. I am sure I will never come back, for us, it was a nightmare. I got this hotel because of the reviews but after being there, I am not sure of the criteria for this opinnions or if I was in the same hotel. I am confused, but my experience was very bad. The only positive for us was that the staff was very nice and tried to be helpful all the time.

Reviewed By Terrance MNothing really wowed me about the property. There was nothing wrong with it either. It is well situated for touring the World Heritage Site Palmeral of Elche. Lobby is spacious. The room was of ample size. The bathroom was good. Only had breakfast here, the only place so far in Spain to offer you plastic gloves to use. The fare was more than adequate. Lots of gel around due to covid. The street itself was quiet at night. Didn't have the best sleep but that was a personal mattress issue.

my best B&B stay yet
Reviewed By Martin HIt's a B&B so we should know what to expect. B&B Elche doesn't have the world's best location (to say the least) but, as for facilities, it takes some beating. Would I recommend it? If you're on a budget but want ALL the basics, you can't go wrong. Great breakfast too. Thumbs-up from me.

Reviewed By Lynne CWe have stayed here many times during the purchase of our home in La Marina. Yes its dated and tired but basically clean with all amenities. The location is on the outskirts of the village with an easy walk to restaurants and shops. The beautiful wild beach is also nearby. This family run hotel is very friendly and the food is good Spanish fare at a good price. Free parking opposite. Really enjoyed our stays here and would not hesitate to recommend. If you want luxury then go elsewhere or move out of your comfort zone and try the Montemare! We love it!

A great place to stay.

Inside the staff are friendly and the rooms are fantastic I couldn't believe the difference when I was inside. Everything you need they even supply shaving gear and toothbrushes as well as shower gel and shampoo etc and the normal towels, toilet rolls etc. Right in the middle of a great city, when I return to Elche I will stay here again.
