We stayed for two nights but as we needed to leave the hotel very early on our first day we had expected to have to miss breakfast. When we told the owner this he very kindly provided bacon rolls to take with us. We also expected to be back very late that evening so didn't book a table for dinner but when we returned unexpectedly early they squeezed us in despite being full! The dinner menu is excellent and the food delicious. The Inn is situated in a very peaceful location and our room was very comfortable. Our only criticism would be that the lighting in the bathroom could be better and coat hooks on the bathroom and room doors would be useful. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would certainly stay again should the need arise.

Wanted a few days away over the half term, were looking at the coast, but this Best Western hotel came up and we have used them in the past. I can't comment on the normal double rooms as we paid a bit extra for a "superior room". We were extremely pleased with the room (or should I say room's). You entered the room, which was a sitting room with a sofa, writing desk and chair, a large chest of drawers and a full length mirror. There were two more small pieces of furniture which turned out to be commodes (don't worry, these were only for decoration). The next room was the actual bedroom, the bed was very high up and solid wood with a canopy and drapes, I found this to be very comfortable. There was more solid wood furniture, a small set of drawers, two bedside cabinets and another cabinet which had the TV on it. The bathroom was the next room with the toilet beyond that. We had tea at coffee making facilities, replenished each day, including biscuits. We did not have food at the hotel in the evening, nor did we use the spa facilities, but we were booked for breakfast. They had a choice of cereal and juices, yogurt and croissant. A long while since we have stayed in a hotel where they actually bring you a pot of tea or coffee rather than having to help yourself. Also, being a small hotel, they make your toast and the food is cooked fresh to order. I thought the full breakfast was extremely good. Our room was facing the road, and there was music in the bar opposite one night until after midnight (possibly just because of bank holiday), but I just closed the double glazing. It is rather old fashioned, the floors do creak ( I think this is mentioned on the hotel website), that's what we liked about it. I managed to park on arrival, no problems but we stayed in Driffield one day and went out by train the other two (station only a few minutes walk from hotel). We also found the staff friendly and helpful. Well done if you have read all of this, I rarely do reviews and never this long, but there seem to be a vast difference in other reviews, almost like they are talking about two completely different hotels, we really loved it.

Avoid! Asked for help and was ignored!

See photos for full review left on bookings.com 2 very tired children and adults making a 3 hour drive back because of issues.A member of staff (who had been drinking before her shift, when we were eating in there) rudely interrupted and accused us of lieing until another member of staff (who we were originally talking to) explained what room we were in, room 5. She quickly went quiet. All that was asked was when the music and extraction would be off in the kitchen as it was very, very loud. They said 8pm, we waited until 9:30pm and no change so had to leave. An industrial extraction ducting running through a room should be insulated, Not just boarded over. If you know your using the room above the kitchen for guests, a little bit of thought is needed when blasting the radio! Key was handed back to the member of staff we had earlier spoke to. She apologised as she had spoken to staff but it seems they ignored her. Now seeking a refund from either the hotel, bookings.com or failing that, the bank. Will update review on whether or not this is issued through the hotel or if we had to do a charge back through the bank!

Very relaxing; good hosts

Booked last minute an stayed one night in The Bothy. It was cosy, calm, rleaxing. Loved the bird song at dusk and dawn. We moved to Room #1 for 2 nights. This was spacious, clean and the most comfortable bed. Overlooked the beautiful garden - bunnies hopping around and lots of birds. The garden was so calming. Really enjoyed the spa and the cool swimming pool - very refreshing. Staff are friendly (including th lovely spa staff) and very helpful. Excellent breakfast - perfect scrambled eggs. Tips: Beverley has good restaurants but they are small and booked up. Stayed here for Bempton Cliffs - magical to see the albatross, gannets, guillemots - erroneously classified as penguins by one non-specialised bird-watcher!

Small park with even smaller facilities, caravan (even though paid for a supposedly higher ) was old and filthy, couldn’t use the lounge area as far too uncomfortable, filthy old fridge and ridiculous amounts of dust in the air vents on the radiators, so while it was freezing you couldn’t use them due to the dust and smell, absolutely no customer service at reception, park is full take it or leave it , first night the oven wouldn’t work so went to the bar for a meal £80 for dinged food that wasn’t edible, yet again customer service was non existent, the next day we went for coffee while the kids used the pool, coffee machine out of order and no kitchen service due to a technical error, this lasted until over half way into the holiday where it turned out they actually had no staff, pool consistently closed due to the same “technical error” when it does open you get a 45 minute slot every hour , where your told its due to cleaning and checks before the next slot , yet all you will see is the life guards going into the main bar to flirt with the serving girls, and don’t go expecting a great nights sleep a double bed so short my 5ft 3” frame had my feet hanging out and covered in bruises as the mattress doesn’t fit the bed so had continuous knocks from the wooden frame, stay away

If you work in hospitality, there should be some attempt at being hospitable. Stoney welcome, no hand pulled ale. Dark dingy pub in need of major refurbishment. Felt very uncomfortable. There is another establishment well worth a visit in Nafferton.
