Excellent Service

We have been staying here for a few days every week whilst building work is ongoing at our home. We were booked in for 4 nights during our last visit but we received an early morning emergency call from family and had to leave in a hurry. At this point we didn't think that we would be able to return to the hotel. We had such kind and efficient support from Laura H who said she would try her best to help us get a refund and also had the presence of mind to not check us out until the end of her shift...we did actually manage to return for the rest of the stay. We came back to a lovely message and treat from Laura and her team. Really cheered us. All staff we have met have been excellent, the rooms are clean and comfortable and we always have a good experience. Thank you all...esp Laura.

We booked 2 racecourse view rooms for an event at the races £420. Upon booking we asked if we could book in at 12:30 as the room was needed for changing and as I have mobility problems and needed the room on standby in case I needed to rest hence us booking the racecourse view so I could still observe. upon arrival we were told no rooms of our type were ready and to write phone number on a post it note and we would be called as soon as they were ready. The day was a celebration for my sons football event and his room was also delayed so we had to leave our suitcases behind reception which I wasn’t really comfortable with. By the time the event had finished at 7pm we had still not been called so the only reason that we booked the rooms was pointless. I live less than 30 minutes away and could have got a taxi and gone home. We booked in at 7:30 went to dinner outside the hotel came back at 10 to have a drink in the hotel bar. I went to the toilet to be greeted by a river of water 2 inch deep all through the corridor and into the toilets which was lovely when wearing sandals which are now in dire need of sanitisation. If I would have known I would have no use of the room for the day I would never have booked what a waste of money! I must add night manager was apologetic and did give us a drink on the house. Unfortunately I will not be returning

Great experience

Our stay was completely faultless. Room was bigger than expected, with a nice bathroom and complimentary facilities, a large & comfortable bed, we stayed on the ground floor which the receptionist arranged for us when we requested it. The cocktails at the bar were fairly priced and tasted delicious! The night staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome and relaxed. Same can be said about the morning staff, smiley, friendly & helpful. Breakfast was very nice and set us up for a busy day of shopping around the nearby shops in Bawtry which is a very pretty village. Would highly recommend The Crown Hotel to anyone visiting the area

AMAZING SERVICE!!!!

We booked the hotel as we were heading to Doncaster races and we did not regret our choice! We arrived early and were greeted by the lovely Andrea and Deb.. We had paid for an early check in (1pm) and we were a little earlier, this was no problem as the room was ready. We were shown all the amenities and the lovely grounds.. the building itself has Lots of character with plenty of places to sit and relax, there’s a bar and restaurant, The grounds themselves were lovely and it was nice to just walk around and explore. There is a large group of wild peacocks roaming the grounds led by Paul the Peacock, Debs was super accommodating and also went out of her way to feed the peacocks so that we had a chance to really see them. Food can be ordered for the room out of hours and staff go out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need, including extra coffee/tea etc. what made our stay most memorable has to be size and style of the room.. we were very lucky and had a room overlooking both the walled garden and the grounds. Breakfast was amazing.. we had poached eggs and salmon where there were some twists that really made it special! We really got the impression that staff genuinely care about the hotel and it’s service…. Thank you very much and we shall see you again soon xx
