Facing the sea and close to the city centre, we are waiting to give you a warm welcome. Wifi access in all the rooms. Nicely located right on the seafront, the Hotel de la Plage offers a traditional welcome in a charming family atmosphere. The hotel has 40 comfortable sound-proof rooms, each with a hair dryer, minibar and a satellite TV. The hotel is close to the pedestrianised town centre with its charming streets and is conveniently close to the ferry terminal.

Reviewed By AvatomThis hotel is very clean and it is well placed. Its Covid arrangements were good. BUT we were not given any information about our room or any choice (maybe it was the only one available). The lavatory was separate from the bathroom with no ventilation and no hand washing facilities. There was a hanging rail with just 5 hangers. For other clothes there were 3 triangular shelves whose sides measured, I estimate, 10 inches! So we left our clothes in the case on the stand provided, which took up most of the floor space - and there wasn't much to start with. Breakfast had to be taken in the room, but there was only one chair - well, of course, no room for a second because of the luggage stand.It was priced on the high side, given its limited menu. (If you are a concerned environmentalist you will wonder why all the breakfast crockery and cutlery was disposable. What's wrong with removing viruses via a dishwasher?) The friendliness of the receptionists was variable (one was very good, one was a bit grumpy). Also you need to know that despite the huge number of parking spaces it can be difficult to find one free. One night we were driven to use the paying car park, and even there we were lucky to get the last available space. So our advice is: make a lot of enquiries before committing yourself.

Reviewed By jhny77I should preface this review by saying that I'm not normally a complainer. Rooms were hellishly hot but didn't think that would be a problem because air-conditioning is advertised and it's a four-star hotel. However, the air-conditioning unit in our rooms didn't work and when I queried this with reception I was told that none of them work across the entire hotel (they didn't see this as a particular problem to apologise for, more a fact of life about which nothing could be done) and instead to open our window. This advice is terrible given that the windows hardly open and, being a seaside town, there are seagulls screaming from first light in any case. When I contacted the hotel to ask for a refund, they refused. I see they are still advertised as four-star (in fact, the rating expired in 2020) and they are still deceitfully advertising themselves as having air conditioning. I would therefore strongly advise avoiding this hotel, particularly in warmer months.

Reviewed By mathow602905We used Balladins for the 1st time and as a last resort. We were surprised at the standard of the hotel, the spacious room and the much better varied food at the breakfast. We will be revisiting in the future.

Reviewed By curiousgeorgette1I stayed here for one night on my first trip to Dieppe. I enjoyed my stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. I especially enjoyed the view from my room of the beach and the swimming pool. My junior suite room was clean and spacious. Parking was convenient. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel so I can't comment on that.

Reviewed By Robin WA clean, friendly hotel in the heart of Dieppe. Rooms are basic, quiet and comfortable. Our second stay and will use again. I would recommend if you want a simple base while you're out and about exploring the town. Very reasonably priced and only 5 mins in a taxi from the port.

This was Kyriad Hotel and a bit 'tired' early September 2019
Reviewed By JojoattheKyriad2019Manager Kevin was such a star ! He was happy to call DFDS to rearrange my crossing to Newhaven.I couldn't do it with my very poor French. Such a nice friendly man on the reception make an average stay into a super stay. The Kyriad was showing some 'tiredness' at the time. Still, breakfast was good and room was clean and easy to sleep in. Bathroom a bit dated. I guess the new-name establishment may be upgraded ? Anyway, good value.

A landing in total peace!Welcome aboard. Hotel de l’Europe and its ‘crew’(equipage, mais ‘staff’ ok aussi) are happy to welcome you 24 hours a day, all year long. Here, the sea is the star. Approaching it, reaching it, there is nothing like the marine atmosphere of our hotel, one of the most recent additions along the Alabaster Coast. It was built on the layout of a cruise ship facing the sea, anchored in the heart of the marina. It is home to bright, warm, vast open spaces. You get a cruise-like feeling in the lounge or the bar and when you walk on any floor! It is a few steps from the beach and the Cité de la mer, and only a couple of minutes on foot from the historic city center with numerous restaurants. Free public parking is adjacent to the hotel.The Rooms “The sea, we see dancing…” Its shimmering silver, its shimmering changes put on a perpetual performance. The sea for horizon, what a dream! The rooms have a rattan theme, for comfort! Spacious, luminous, a relaxing way of live, they have everything to charm you during your stay.

Reviewed By tdealwisStayed one night on my return to France. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, smelt fresh and heated. Had a pleasant shower but the soap dispenser was awful. Breakfast cost approx 7€ and if one wanted, there was scrambled eggs and bacon. The breakfast was more than adequate.
