The Daintree Rainforest Retreat is a small family owned motel. It sits nestled in the forest surrounded by towering trees and lush gardens. While we do not have a restaurant we do offer a covered BBQ area with its own sitting area and a fully equipped and comfortable communal kitchen together with 2 further sitting/dining areas. The Cow Bay Hotel is a 2 minute walk and while it is very close, it can be neither seen nor heard from the motel. Our rooms are cooled by ceiling fans and guests can further escape the tropical heat with a dip in our palm fringed swimming pool. We look forward to seeing you.
There is NO AIRCONDITIONING which was something I didn't think I needed to ask about. Wifi very poor so don't rely in having it. The room was clean and tidy but things like milk and T-towel missing and had to find rubbish bin liner from another room. The outside cooking facilities were very dirty but the games/coffee room was acceptable. The cleaner was friendly and doing a good job with what was available. The manager was friendly and it would have been handy if he was contactable. On the plus side (for us at least) there was only one other person staying there.

Daintree Riverview offers eight en-suite lodges in the heart of the Daintree Village overlooking the beautiful Daintree River, with views of the lush, tropical, rainforest-clad mountains beyond. Each of the lodges opens out on to an extensive undercover timber deck where you can relax in complete tranquility, taking in the sights and sounds of the Daintree River and surrounding bird life. Includes a full kitchen on the deck, with a BBQ and laundry facilities nearby. Daintree Riverview also offers camping and caravan facilities, with or without power, in a lush tropical setting.
Amazing little caravan park, peaceful and picturesque surroundings. Excellent boat ramp and jetty just meters away, plenty of fish and some sneaky big Barra among them. Good facilities, toilets, showers and laundry just meters away up the stairs from our powered site. Lovely friendly staff and the place is in a convenient location for a day trip on the Ferry up to Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation. Can’t rate this place highly enough, it’s family and pet friendly, the only problem we had was that we was that we had to go home, but we will definitely be back, lovely place, thank you so much ❤️?

Noah Creek Eco–Huts are situated on the Noah Valley Rainforest Reserve. They offer private self-contained accommodation in the Cape Tribulation Daintree rainforest. All accommodation offers a fully equipped kitchen, BBQ, fireplace and a balcony with picturesque views. Guests of the reserve gain access to trails, swimming holes and waterfalls.
Absolutely stunning. This is the Daintree I wanted to experience. The craftsmanship from this build is amazing- built from oversize timber felled on the property in the 70’s. We stayed in the Ridge House. You need to know what you are booking- there are no walls on the ground living areas and only mozzie nets on the beds. But this makes the house. You wake up in the morning looking out the window at the mountain ridges out front. No 240v power, no wifi, no landline phone, no mobile reception, only a radio if needed. We were on the road for 2 weeks and this was the highlight. Family of 4- 3yr old and 5yr old. Plenty of toys for the kids to play with. Views for days! Loved it- will be back

A wonderful and picturesque place to stay. We did the Laura, Cooktown, Daintree, Cairns loop with 2 other families and this place was the best. Mark and Janelle were such friendly hosts, the fire pit, showers and camp kitchen were excellent. The shop was well stocked. It was such a lush and well looked after place. We loved it! Thank you so much!!!

Step back in time and experience the magic of the 'Heritage Lodge in the Daintree'. Only two hours North of Cairns and just over an hour from Port Douglas, this is the only place in the world where two world heritage listed National Parks meet. This section of the Daintree rainforest, is where the world's most ancient rainforest, meets the Great Barrier Reef. Heritage Lodge is a 3 1/2 star small unique lodge featuring 20 Rainforest cabins set within the quite serenity of the Daintree Rainforest. Sit back, relax on your own private balcony to enjoy nature at its best. Our Restaurant "On the Turps" will tantalise your tastebuds using quality local produce, overlooking the beautiful Cooper Creek and the lodge swimming pool amongst the tropical gardens and rainforest surroundings. Open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner daily. The Heritage Lodge in the Daintree, offers personalised service in a magical and rejuvenating environment. Staying at the Lodge is more then just a holiday, it is an experience!
A secluded spot in a beautiful part of the world. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the experience. Pros: nice welcome, lovely grounds, good restaurant with great food, happy hour, nice breakfast included in the price, bug spray in the room, no wifi or mobile reception. Cons: rooms are tired, room lighting not great, mosquito's the size of houses and plenty of them, no phone/wifi, thin walls (we could hear our neighbours TV very clearly). We enjoyed our stay in the rainforest and knew in advance that the tropical mozzies and the damp would be present no matter where we stayed. The staff were lovely. I'd recommend the Lodge as long as you don't expect the Hilton.

Where the Daintree Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef, this location is the only place in the world where two world heritage sites meet, and Cape Trib Beach House calls it home. This rustic retreat is the ideal place to escape and disconnect from the world, while immersing yourself in the stunning natural surrounds. Experience the peace and quiet of the picturesque private beach frontage and discover the abundance of plant and wildlife while exploring the 110-million year old rainforest. Cape Trib Beach House offers a range of accommodation options from private beachfront cabins to family rooms sleeping up to four or six as well as shared dorm rooms; all air-conditioned. Enjoy meals at Tides Bar & Restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner serving Australian and international cuisine. The relaxing vibe and inviting natural environment will have you enjoying some time just 'being' - being with family and friends, being with the environment and being at one with yourself.
Stayed for a night at the Beach House between two halves of a rainforest tour. We are so glad we made the decision to come and stay - it was a highlight in an amazing holiday. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful with everything, our room was really clean and comfy and we were impressed by the restaurant. The whole place was so peaceful, we honestly felt like the only people in the world at times. The beach is stunning and a few yards away, recommend the walk to the lookout. Had the pool to ourselves for the morning and enjoyed the restaurant (particularly the kangaroo special and watching the beautiful golden orb spiders). Thanks so much for a magical stay!

Surrounded by 28 acres of lush rainforest, Ferntree Rainforest Hotel boasts our popular lagoon swimming pool and an on-site restaurant and bar. The resort's reception/tour desk can help you arrange things to do and places to see in Cape Tribulation and The Daintree, such as Great Barrier Reef trips, Crocodile tours and guided rainforest walks. Our Cassowary Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner - *Operations and Hours - Subject to Change* Ferntree Rainforest Hotel is less than 1 kilometre from both Cape Tribulation Beach and Myall Beach. Port Douglas Airport is 80km away. There's Telstra and Optus mobile phone service available in Cape Tribulation. even in our remote and unique travel destination!
The location and style of Ferntrees is beautiful, with easy access to the beach and walks, and the check-in experience was friendly and informative. However, I have stayed in hundreds of hotels, some of which cost less than $20 per night in SE Asia, and have never given a rating this low. The Triple Room my wife and I had at Ferntrees for $170 per night was dirty and so poorly maintained that things just didn’t function. We chose this room as it was for just one night and all we needed was a clean environment and a hot shower, neither of which we got. We live in Cairns so we accept that keeping up with the damp and mould in the tropics and rainforest is a challenge, and understand that Ferntrees power and water is produced “off-grid”; that is no excuse for grime build-up. It appears that any cleaning of these cabins is a sweep or a vacuum only as there were cobwebs on the walls, dirt build up in and out of the shower, the doors including cupboard doors had a dirty film over them that would easily clean off if given even a basic wipe over. The floor could do with a decent wash as our feet became dirty from walking on it meaning we had to clean our feet to get into bed. Thankfully the bedding was clean though. In terms of maintenance, when we turned on the shower taps nothing came out at all. After my wife saying to just leave them on for a few minutes and see what happens, water finally began to trickle and then flow. However, despite all my efforts at balancing the hot and cold, it would of its own accord run dangerously hot and then just switch after a minute or so to stone cold! There was no in between. So we weren’t able to shower properly for dinner and by that time of the day reception had closed for us to express our complaint. One bedside lamp did not work, the windows couldn’t be opened as they had no screens despite the insects in the tropics, the bathroom door creaked loudly when opened, disturbing partner sleep, and the towel rail kept falling off the wall despite being very careful placing your towel there. The inside of the vanity cupboard leaked dark dirty water when the sink was used which prevented storing our bathroom needs in there. The freezer part of the mini fridge was also iced up, stopping us from having our own freezer blocks cooled for when we departed. I understand that we were staying in 3 star accommodation but that should not mean a dirty and poorly maintained room that left us feeling disappointed in our experience at Ferntrees. The on-site Cassowary Restaurant was a lovely setting amongst the rainforest, the food was good without being exceptional, and the staff were friendly. However, the cleanliness again left a lot to be desired. We saw several occasions where tables were cleared after people finished, yet the tables were not wiped down before the next couple or group arrived. Our table also felt like it had not been wiped down before we sat there and we had to wipe it over ourselves. We also saw other people wiping down the table with their serviettes after they sat down. We won’t be back to Ferntrees.
