Writing this review as cannot sleep due to sound coming from the room next door. Nothing to do with the guests next door, simply using the facilities and talking at a normal volume, however everything can be heard. Incredible to think that a place made for sleeping would have such thin walls.

The Lamb Inn is a 16th century former coaching inn situated in the picturesque Devon village of Sandford close to the market town of Crediton and just ten miles from the Cathedral town of Exeter. The Lamb Inn is the perfect example of a quintessential English country pub. The Lamb Inn bar has an open fire, comfy sofas and a restaurant that serves freshly cooked, locally sourced, award-winning food prepared by talented chefs on the chargrill. The vegetarian and vegan dishes are plentiful and varied. The Lamb Inn has seven rooms on offer all with ensuite and all dog friendly. They vary in size and price, starting with the spacious wedding suite with wood burner for £145 per night, to Room 1 a large luxury room, with wood burner and bath with a view over the village square for £129, and other double rooms of various sizes with the smallest room for just £64 per night. All rooms are comfortable and have flat screen televisions. Outside there is a sheltered cobbled courtyard with tables and sun umbrellas making it a very popular place to enjoy a meal and choose a cool drink form our extensive range of local ales and lagers, also a varied selection of wines and spirits. There is a separate covered sundeck overlooking the courtyard and a further grassed area, ideal for children, at the top of the garden. As well as the Lamb Inn bar there is the smaller Tap Room and a large function hall, The Dowrich Room, perfect for weddings, parties, wakes and cinema evenings. The Lamb Inn has a thriving cinema club and hosts many other local community clubs and groups, as well as holding regular charity quiz evenings. If you fancy a stay in the Devon countryside The Lamb Inn could be the perfect place for you.

Can only praise Sue at the Hillside-nice spacious room-very clean-big bed and a delicious breakfast as well. She goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed on your stay. Left a piece of jewellery by mistake and Sue was kind enough to send back to us. As a bonus there is a pub just across the road and a very nice country park close by to stroll through if you feel inclined. All in all a recommended place to visit ..*****

A friend and I looked for last minute accommodation half way down on our mini journey. We come across Union Road Moto Velo and what an amazing find! Very welcoming and accommodating staff. A luxury B&B in a stunning location with all guest rooms enjoying uninterrupted views across the local hills. Attractions include an extensive range of pets from Alpacas and miniature Shetland Ponies to Guinea Fowl and runner ducks while the gardens offer many places to just sit and relax with a drink from the licensed bar. The owners are keen walkers and can offer advice and even accompaniment for many local walks.
We spent 2 nights at Lowerfield as we attended a wedding in the area. It’s a very impressive large house set in lovely grounds in very peaceful surroundings. Huge comfortable bedroom with fridge outside for fresh milk which is always nicer than little cartons. Friendly owners and lovely breakfasts added to the great experience.

The New Inn Coleford is a quintessential old, thatched, rural English inn set in a conservation village in the green rolling hills of mid Devon between Exmoor and Dartmoor, yet is only 20 minutes drive from the beautiful, cathedral city of Exeter. It has a large car park and lovely gardens with weeping willows by a stream. You'll find King beds, large fluffy bath towels and local food delicacies.
When we booked our one night stay here based and high user ratings on TripAdvisor, we expected a high quality B&B in a typical busy thoroughfare where such country inns are frequently located. But this place is SO much more than a quality inn. Based in the old, tiny, historic quaint village of Coleford just next to the small stream The New Inn traces its history back to 1350 and only got the misleading name because it was only the second inn to open here - the first one No longer exists. Needless to say the place is an Oasis of peace & quiet. Just getting to tiny Coleford is a Challenge on the narrow, green country lanes and well arrived you feel protected in a time pocket. The couple running the inn are doing an amazing job to make you feel at home. Along with the 40-Year old resident talking parrot they ensure that rooms are in top notch Maintenance condition, that the right ales are poured, the delicious dishes on the menu made from local tasty raw materials, the sumptuous breakfast is made to your specifikation and check-in and out is easy and efficient. Prices are reasonable and the quality/cost relationship is really value for money. The New Inn is now added to our list of favourite places to stay in Devon after this memorable stay.

I stayed at the Ship Hotel Monday to Friday from April 2020 until April 2022 for work purposes. In that time I cannot think of one single time where anything has been an issue. My room was the same room each and every stay, which made life so much easier. The room I had was the one that was not facing the main road, so noise was not an issue in the slightest. It also helps being 3 floors up away from the bar as well, so you won’t hear any noise even if a sporting event is on. The shower always had good water pressure, the bed was always comfy and the room was always spotless on the first night. In the room was a good sized TV, a fridge and a microwave as well as the usual kettle and drinks making facilities you would expect. Please do not see this place as a “trades” hotel, as it really is so much more. Fine, the parking can be a pain in the backside, but there’s a well lit and safe parking area down the road a little. But there is usually ample parking just outside the hotel, if you are planning to be out by 0845 in the morning. The food, which is available every night is outstanding. And again, nothing is too much of an issue. The bar itself is clean, inviting and very well stocked. The clientele, are lovely and not the rowdy kind. But the main draw to this lovely hotel is the staff and owners. I have never been to a place so inviting and caring in all my years… they have looked after me while I had to self isolate, they have stayed on to cook meals because I was running a little late, but most of all, they truly became friends. If you are looking for a hotel that will treat you with the kindness and compassion that Devon people are famous for, loom no further. This is an absolute jewel! Next time my family and I are going to Exeter, I already have plans for where we will stay.

We had an excellent stay at Taw Vale. Sylvia was a fantastic hostess. Our room was situated in the rear garden which was both private and romantic. Our breakfast each day was consistently perfect with lots off home made extras laid before us. We would definitely stay here again

Welcome to Combe Lancey Farmhouse - an historic 12th-century manor house set in an attractive and mature garden in a peaceful rural setting and surrounded by its own fields, yet close to the A377. We are situated in mid Devon 1 mile from Sandford, adjacent to Crediton, close to Exeter and Tiverton makking it an ideal base from which to visit Devon's countryside, its beaches, the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor, the Two Moors Way.

A well run pub by hard working caring owners. We stayed for one night the rooms are in a recently convert barn to the rear of the pub. The rooms are stylish, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Well above the average pub accommodation. The pub is extremely busy and well frequented by the friendly locals which is always a good sign. We had a lovely evening meal and drinks and a superb full english breakfast. Secure car parking Definitely on our list for a return visit.
