We realised when we arrived that there was a wedding taking place, but we went in anyway. We were greeted first by a very pleasant, well groomed, well mannered young man who asked our requirements, explaining that there was a wedding taking place. He noticed that one of our party had a disability, (the walkway leading into the hotel was perfect our companion noted) so led us on the same level to a dining area away from the hustle and bustle of the wedding guests. The young man was courteous, but good humoured as he offered us the menu for the fare that was available, explaining dishes of the day etc. He left us to choose. Then we were greeted by a very diligent young lady, who was very polite, but whose English wasn't so clear so she spoke slowly so the elder members of our party could hear and understand her. Another dutiful young lady followed her after we'd chosen our meals. It was lovely to be assisted by people who are either very well trained, or genuinely enjoy their work. A third young lady who was evidently from the locality, served our deserts and offered beverages. Our visit was a delight from start to finish. The presentation and ambience, the decor and the cleanliness was perfect. Our warm welcome and the friendliness of the staff will surely be a factor for us all to come back to the Four Seasons Hotel, Monaghan, Ireland. We would also commend Darran Mohan, for his impeccable appearance, his manners and his sense of humour. Thankyou for making a lovely afternoon!!

Renowned for good food, friendly service & lively entertainment - a warm welcome awaits you at the Glencarn hotel.
We visited the restaurant today in our way back from black rock. The restaurant was busy but clean and has nice decor. The servers were very friendly and efficient. Service was fast compared to some restaurants. The food was well presented, adequate portions and reasonable priced. I intend to come back int he very near future and bring my friends

Calling this place FawltyTowers.IE. as anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Tired rooms with no soundproofing. Stained sheets, stained ceilings. Ancient furniture somebody's granny must have donated. I only put 'holiday' in Google description as it didn't offer a 'disaster' category. Had to move rooms twice, in the first case because somebody next door left their toilet air conditioner on in the night and disturbed the sleep. Why would they do that, we were asked at reception, as if we were expected to come up with some sort of psychological analysis of the people in the next room. Well, we can't tell you why they would do that, but they did it, so can we move rooms, please? Like, we're not asking to move rooms for fun here. Moved to a supposedly quiet part of the hotel and just settling down for a nap when a door slams loudly in next room. Later on, no water for the shower. Was told the water was off because some work was being done. When shower finally came on it was cold to lukewarm. Jacuzzi not working in leisure centre. But, what the hell, who actually needs a leisure centre or a gym when you can move luggage so often? The online menu did not match the reality, as it wasn't available, but it was still up on their website as if it was. Table service good, but any eating experience spoiled by the sort of run of the mill fare you put up with from a hillbilly motorway diner. Burger with outdated lettuce clearly their idea of a specialty. Be sure to take your indigestion tablets, and don't expect apologies for any inconvenience in this place. Had the thundering gall to charge full payment after a miserable stay. Only thing missing was Manuel.

Just stayed one night. the lady at reception was very friendly upon arrival which is always a good start. The room was comfortable and had all the facilities you'd need, the bathroom was good and well stocked with shampoos etc. There was a good selection available for breakfast, my only complaint was that the orange juice was very poor - definitely a cheap concentrate but everything else was nice and we left full. Location wise, the hotel is bang in the centre of town, close to pubs and restaurants. There is paid parking in front of the hotel.

I stayed in Ashleigh House from 30 May - 04 June 2022 when I travelled from South Africa to Monaghan to attend a wedding. The outside does not prepare you for the beautiful charming inside that awaits you. My room was beautifully decorated and friends who visited me was equally impressed with the place. Breakfast was prepared to order by the lovely owner and was tasty and adequate. The downside was that there was no wifi for the duration of my stay due to the owner being let down terribly by a new service provider. The guesthouse is walking distance to the centre of town with its Shopping Centre and some nice shops. I highly recommend Ashleigh House to anyone looking for accommodation in Monaghan.

The couple was very hospitable and willing to offer suggestions for gluten free super options nearby. When she realized we hadn't left and everything was closed she offered to make us sandwiches! Breakfast was good. The room was spacious and accommodating. We would stay here again if we were ever come across the pond again.

The Lodge (50 guestrooms) is the social hub of the Estate and brings locals and guests together in an atmosphere of conviviality and comfort. The two-bedroom Old Stable Mews is the perfect spot for families and groups that want the convenience of hotel living combined with private luxury home rental. A host of activities are on offer including horse riding, pike fishing, boating, walking trails, archery, clay target shooting, hot air balloon rides, falconry and spa treatments.
This was our 3rd visit to Castle Leslie and we enjoyed it immensely. In fact it's difficult to find the superlatives to do it full justice! The hot chocolate and scone on arrival were beautifully served and most welcome. As for the castle it was a "Downton Abbey" experience and the decor and ambience was simply breathtaking. We enjoyed wonderful walks around the lake and to the walled garden where the head gardener and his assistant were full of information about the plants and your ambitious plans for future development. Cliona is a wonderful ambassador and couldn't do enough for us during our stay in the castle. Our dinner in Coner's Bar was most enjoyable and we would particularly recommend the delicious steak . We are already looking forward to a return visit.
