The sea view room lived up to its name and was very spacious. The quality of the food was excellent too although breakfast was expensive. What was lacking was service eg no porterage, on two nights there was no bar service .No information about room service and a strict limit on the numbers of diners they would accept for dinner. So didn't really merit a 4 star rating R

Aucune concession d'aucune sorte. Donc, des sentiments mitigés sur notre expérience ? Bit of a mixed picture. Food was great but until we said something, service was appalling. We had an unfriendly, arrogant waiter who virtually threw our food at us. Definitely not service with a smile. We made a point of saying that my wife was allergic to red peppers however, her main course arrived sat on a bed of potato and red peppers. It got grudgingly taken away with no apology. What came back was a hot meal with a cold salad. We were told that the vegetables had red peppers in them. That would have been good to know at the beginning of the meal so she could has chosen something else. Apart from this the food that did arrive was faultless. We spoke to another waitress about her colleague and did get an apology but also a statement to the effect that our waiter was tired after a long weekend. Needless to say that My wife, who in a previous life as a Dr, saving peoples lives at 3 in the morning, not having slept for 72hrs didn’t draw much in the way of sympathy. No concessions of any kind. So, mixed feelings overall about our experience ?

Exceptionally good value. We received a warm welcome, a spotlessly clean room, really comfortable bed, view over the port, breakfast was simple but perfect. I can’t recommend this little gem in a perfect location enough. Thank you. We will definitely be returning here

The views from our sea-facing room were spectacular with boats buzzing around in the bay, walkers, dogs on the beach and the far-reaching spectacle of Cap Coz on the horizon. Our room was warm and bed linen was excellent quality. As it was autumn, the hotel was quiet and the in-house restaurant served a changing prix fixe menu each day - all fresh ingredients. The hotel has a heated pool. Top marks go to English speaking staff who welcomed us, made sure we had everything we needed and were courteous and kind. The hotel itself, all its facilities and public areas were spotlessly clean and attractively decorated. Although many other hotels decline to change bed-linen (Covid) - this happened to us elsewhere in France and also in Scotland - the team at Hotel de l'Ocean serviced our room each day. We were delighted with our stay and will go back. The hotel is about a half-hour/20 minute walk to the port (depending on your level of fitness) but we drove each day. We will go back. Well done for offering this level of hospitality given the problems you must face with the pandemic. Of course masks were worn by all staff at all times - and we were impressed with how rigorous the French are about mask wearing. They are only removed at meal times and the town's little restaurants were busy and thriving.

Hotel *** of town center in front of the old closed Town of Concarneau to 200 meters of the first beach.
Have been here twice now, and very impressed both times. Nicely located next to main covered market, Les Halles, and a few minutes walk from both modern town (containing various shops and restaurants) and the delightful Ville Close (the old town, containing lots of restaurants and touristy shops). Very comfortable room, and nicely decorated in a maritime theme - possibly cliché, but exactly what I want whenever I visit beautiful Concarneau. Completely wheelchair accessible, and adapted room (although not overly so i.e. not over the top) with separate entrance to reception and rooms - door number given for outdoor door during after hours. Didn't have breakfast. Very good value at ~€70 per night.

Small room on 2nd floor at the front with 3 windows with good views which you could see when standing only. The room was smaller than we expected and had a wardrobe, table, large chair and shower/basin behind a partition. The separate loo is tiny. Very clean and housekeeping staff friendly. Bed quite comfortable but the city centre is very noisy at night with scooters and mopeds but the electric shutters on the windows offered a great blackout. Had breakfast once in hotel but then went to boulangerie and got takeaway coffee and croissants. Due to the age of the building there is no lift. We were visiting friends who live in town so the hotel was a great location for us.

This place is so close to the beach, you can smell the sea on the evening air! This is a delightful place to stay. The beds are very comfortable (I am 2.0mtr tall) and the room we stayed in was terrific. Our room was recently renovated and the ensuite bathroom/toilet was wonderful. There is further renovation happening here and it is all going to be for the better. Our breakfast in the mornings was so typically french! Croissants, coffee/thé, crêpes , confitures, yaourt and bread - yum! Our hosts, Camille and Tristan, were wonderful. Their knowledge of the city and recommendations for dinner were sensational. Both spoke English with us and were so enthusiastic. We would highly recommend Villa des Sables to anyone. Thank you.

We were very happy to find a room available here in the middle of the festival Filets Bleus. The hotel's location is very central. The room was old fashioned and basic but clean and comfortable and inexpensive. Madame is charming and informative and loves her town and her hotel. Monsieur was very helpful with on site parking in the hotel garage and even led us by moped through the "road closures" when we left the hotel at the end of the festival.
