Stayed many times before and loved it but has really gone downhill over last 2 years. Maid service only after 3 days including towels, pool very dirty, breakfast no longer individually made hot tub not working- and when this reported to front desk they just stared blankly

Very tired, somewhat dumpy, corporate hotel. Good location. Woke up with multiple flea bites the 1st night. The staff is nice but understaffed. Wouldn’t stay here again. Also, the pool closes at 8:00 pm…

Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs combines the relaxed, mid-century Palm Springs aesthetic with Margaritaville’s casual-luxe island feel. Nestled within a picturesque 16-acres with sweeping views of the San Jacinto Mountains, the property features relaxing outdoor experiences including two pools and several tiki-hut inspired cabanas. Make plans now to visit the ultimate island oasis in the desert for travelers and locals seeking a much-needed escape.
I'm a huge fan of Margaritaville properties and have stayed at many, but this is sub par to say the least and it's a real shame. The theming and the grounds are great, but cleanliness and the attitude of some staff is not exactly what you'd expect. Our first room on check in was covered in ants, bed, headboard, bedside table - complained to the front desk who where very apologetic and offered to move our room and provide a complimentary drinks voucher (great we thought). New room was smaller than the original, lost the pool view, had stained towels and half used bathroom amenities (over half used shower gel, shampoo etc), to be honest appeared that the room hadn't been finished cleaning since the last guest. As only staying for one night decided to just request new towels and live with it. We then popped to the bar to use our "complimentary" drinks vouchers only to be met with a bar tender who had the worst attitude ive seen in a resort. Trying to use the vouchers was like asking him to personally pay for the drinks, despite the vouchers stating any cocktail beer or wine, advised that we could only have a standard margarita as it was the cheapest drink...... Not really a great "apology for the issues so far" We then left for dinner and came back to..... 9, yes 9 fresh towels on the bed, with the old dirty ones still left in the room, it almost felt like a sarcastic jibe and not what I'd expect from a Margaritaville property. Pool staff and front desk check in agents where great, and the pool areas and bars are lovley, but the overall lack of cleanliness in the rooms and the bad attitude of a few apples really leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

Many of the other reviewers seem to have similar feelings and experiences and I should have made more of an effort to review them before booking. We choose this property to celebrate our anniversary having heard about it from a co-worker. Hearing the "JW" name and "Resort and Spa" we naturally had high expectations. This property's strong points are: friendly staff, above average customer service, good food and multiple pools. Unfortunately it suffers from lack of attention to maintenance and upkeep and a non-luxury environment. It's probably geared more towards business conferences, families or those looking for a Vegas weekend without leaving California. There are various onsite activities, including a golf course which some may enjoy. Arrival & Check In When arriving at the valet, we were greeted by the smell of cigarette smoke. Smoking is allowed right in front of the entrance doors which you have to walk through to enter the lobby. Raymond from the front desk was friendly, personable and pointed out some of the interesting things to do and see around the property. He definitely set the tone for the property's customer service. Being recent Bonvoy Platinum members we were excited to see what new perks we'd recieve for our loyalty. While we did receive an "upgraded" room with a pool view, we'd normally receive that just by asking. There was no effort made to upgrade us to the "best available" room as stated in the Bonvoy terms and conditions. While the wording gives each property an out, we were hoping for more. The Room: We had three different rooms during our stay (we were credited for our troubles). The first was missing the couch and bathtub. While listed as included when booking, we later found are not in all rooms. The second room's AC, still being a top floor room, was unable to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. As the week got hotter, we requested a new room. We noticed that the third room (not on the top floor) felt bigger due to the way the ceiling was designed. We also had "extra" pieces of furniture (bench in front of the bed and footrest for the couch) which made the room feel slightly more high end. The rooms aren't bad, but not luxury and not what I'd expect at a JW. They remind me of what you'd find at a standard Marriott. The furniture was a little bland and the white textured walls cheapened the room's feel. The bathrooms were nice, with tile floors, but the shower toilet arrangement was awkward. Most of my recent stays have had rooms with larger TVs and the ability to stream content from our phones. The TVs here are on the smaller size for 2022 and we were surprised at being unable to stream our own content from our phones. Dinning: One Bonvoy benefit I couldn’t wait to use was the free breakfast! Each property can define what "breakfast" consists of. Here it was a "cold" continental breakfast: pastries, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt and juice. We could unlock bacon and waffles for an extra $10. Having had some good, free continental breakfasts at cheaper hotels this felt like cost cutting. Shockingly our free breakfast would have normally cost $40! There is an on-site Starbucks and we took advantage of that instead. The rest of our meals tasted great, but were on the expensive side. Our favorites were the Sushi at Aquifer and the room service pizza! Pool: This and the grounds in general are the redeeming parts of the property. There are two large pools, a lap pool and multiple hot tubs. Some of the lounge chairs required a $75 deposit, but during the week there were enough free ones to not be an issue. Aside from being slightly worn and dirty, they did their job. Bianca, our poolside server, was very friendly and checked on us often. While there’s a sign about using headphones for personal music, it wasn’t being enforced and multiple groups were competing for the loudest music award. On Fridays and Saturdays the pool has a club type atmosphere which was fun! Just make sure to get there early and secure a spot! Security was checking bags for glass and outside alcohol, but didn’t seem to mind our snacks. Wristbands were required (on the weekends) and since we didn’t receive then at check in, I had to run to the front desk while they let the rest of our group into the pool area. There were various issues with the sound, two areas of the pool playing different music and once that was fixed, one side kept cutting out. This was eventually resolved, but many of the guests around us noticed it as well. The weekend was busier and we didn’t receive the same quality of service, having to frequently search for someone to order from. Spa: The spa facility was nice, but the staff were either new or were not well trained in fostering a relaxing environment. Unlike other spas where the staff will quietly find you, our name was yelled from across the room. We booked the Revive Room which gave us an extra hour to enjoy a private hot tub, romantic candles, fruit and champagne after our massages. We did have to remind them to turn on the relaxing music and I felt that my massage was rushed-as if she was just going through the motions. The spa pool was relaxing and Tim took excellent care of everyone there. It's too bad that they no longer off free Spa pool access as a Bonvoy perk. While not our worst stay, it wasn't the luxury, relaxing stay we expected. We love the area and it would have been great to find a place to return to time after time. Unfortunately, this isn't the one for us.

An oasis on the main strip! This beautiful boutique hotel felt like a tropical paradise! The pool is the perfect size for a few laps and leisurely floating. The room was so lovely and spacious. Everything is extremely clean--the room, the kitchen, the pool, the grounds. It was such a relaxing stay. I would absolutely stay here again. What makes Hotel California special is the excellent hospitality. After a long day of travel, we were so appreciative of the offer of beverages during check-in (including wine or beer). Also, the woman who checked us in didn't just hand us a key. She gave us a tour of all the facilities, and walked us to our room. There's also a fully stocked kitchen for use by all guests, which was a real bonus for us. And the hospitality continues after check-in. While we were lounging at the pool one evening, the staff brought us a glass of wine. There's a lot of attention to detail here. The pool and outdoor lounge space has plenty of lounge chairs and outdoor tables and chairs. We loved eating breakfast outdoors. At night, the outdoors spaces are lit with candles and a firepit. This is a quiet place, perfect for couples, which is what we were looking for. It's just a really nice vibe here. And of course, there's the mission bell...

I was excited to stay at the La Quinta resort with my friend this Memorial Day weekend. Even though my last visit was subpar, I had high expectations for this stay since they had a little more time post Covid for their reopening. This resort is supposed to be high end but basically is a La Quinta motel at this point. Last time there was a broken AC unit and a four hour check in process and this time the experience was akin to a camping trip. When going to check in, the only front parking is valet, so you have to fend for a spot on the street and walk. Check in was a line of 10 other people that are about to all be have a disappointing weekend. This should have been obvious with front desk manned my one employee that I know was overworked and I’m assuming underpaid. Once you check in, you then have to repark in another location that is hopefully close to your actual room. Palm Springs is hot and almost unbearable in the summer, so if you aren’t lucky to get a spot close to your room, at best you’re a sweaty nightmare before you get to your room and at worst, you die of heat exhaustion Upon arrival to my $600/night roof top casita, the patio furniture was worn and very dirty (my own patio furniture is cleaner), the room is dated, and for entertainment they might as well had a sign outside that said “Color TV/Free HBO.” Notice I didn’t say free wifi, because the service was so spotty, i ended up using my own phone’s hotspot. Now, let’s get into the bigger issues. The mini fridge was broken and the temperature was mildly colder than the room itself which was already warm. We brought food and alcohol with us and this mini fridge was not up to task. “Engineering” came to the room to “fix” the fridge and by “fix” I mean they filled it with ice. Thank you? Instead we decided to rely on our cooler to keep our food out of food bourne levels of illness. We also filled our bathroom sink with ice, which was also colder than the mini fridge. It didn’t help the nearest ice machine was a trek through the desert (again risking heat stroke). When simmering in Palm Spring, the only thing to do is relax in the pool. While the temperature was nice, it’s hard to relax when the pool is cloudy and filled with dirt and even dirtier children running around, screaming and taking over all the pools. We thought maybe we could at least have a nice dinner, but this also was a disappointment. The Mexican restaurant had no reservations until long after we checked out, so we opted for bar seating which there was a 2 hour wait. Wait staff were friendly, but clearly understaffed and again underpaid. In conclusion- I was very disappointed in my stay and felt my money was not well spent. I had a better stay at the La Quinta off the strip in Las Vegas. I had high hopes for the beautiful property, because it really is a beautiful property to stay but at some point the owner must have passed away and bequeathed it some random carneys. Won’t return again.

I had stayed with the resort 6 months prior and their was an issue with the room. I spoke to the front desk and they immediately addressed my concerns, switched my room with no hassle. They were quick to respond and resolve any issues. Staff are courteous, pool and grounds well maintained. Towels a bit hard, furniture a bit dated, but overall great location and well worth a stay.
