The BEST WESTERN PLUS Hotel Perla del Porto is a newly built hotel, located directly on the beach in Catanzaro Lido and in the center of the Gulf of Squillace. Thanks to its location, just steps from the shopping center, offices and from the center of the city, you can easily and quickly reach any destination.
Although the Best Western Plus Perla Del Porto has a fine locale along the waterfront and well appointed rooms, its bath has a hazardously slippery shower along with an equally slippery ceramic tile floor. Given this situation I would expect grab bars in these areas as a preventative for slips and falls along with a non slip shower pad. Until then I would be cautious about staying at this otherwise fine hotel. Beware.

The Hotel Altavilla is an elegant 4-star hotel, a jewel whose refined and cozy rooms are the perfect synthesis of Feng Shui. Hotel Altavilla is situated in the center of the city of Catanzaro in Italia Street n. 33 a, a short walk from the Politeama theater and in a convenient location close to the main highways, connecting roads and the capital city offices.
Stopping over in Catanzaro for one night, I selected the Altavilla to stay in mainly based on price, I found myself rather blown away by it. Impeccably clean with a modern interior, my room wasn’t giant but by Italian standards it was very sizeable, including the excellent, functional bathroom and a small minibar. Staff spoke good English and were very helpful. I didn’t eat in the restaurant to sample it sadly. One thing I would say, is when you walk out the door be sure to turn to your right. Walking left takes you up some pretty barren residential streets, going right takes you to the lovely city centre

A very simple review and my thoughts. One night at the Don Giacchi is not enough. If you have looked at previous reviews you will understand the location and facilities which are superb. Allow a minimum of 2 nights and not "in transit for the airport" as we were. Amazing place, great hosts and fantastic views

Just a very short drive from town and up a narrow lane you will find this B&B and be wonderfully greeted by the host, Carmen. The room is very comfortable and has a wonderful vista of the sea. Carmen has thought of everything to make her guests comfortable and welcomed. From coffee and tea being available to fresh fruit from her own orchard. Breakfast is a real treat especially with the homemade jams made from fruit from her own orchards and there are many varieties. There was even fresh cream to dob on the top of your jam toast. Fantastic. Carmen is a delight and also speaks English (and a bit of other languages as well I suspect) so it is great to converse with her. I am sure you won't be disappointed. Thanks Carmen. P.S. Carmen also recommended a great restaurant so be sure to ask.

Probably erring on the side of generosity with my rating, but here's why: hotel staff were friendly and helpful (our Italian is all-but-non-existent, and not all staff speak English). We didn't like the room we had for our first night and were moved to a nicer room for the remaining two nights. The taxi we had requested for an early Sunday morning departure was there in good time before we had to leave. Breakfast was ok (bit heavy on pastries and cakes) and coffee was made to order. We had one evening meal with a group of us and the food was nice. The hotel is clean and rooms were cleaned daily. Beds were reasonably comfortable (although the mattresses seemed dated if the "Agip Motel" branding is an indicator). The hotel must have had some sort of makeover in recent years. That said, the decor is a bit old-fashioned. It's clearly a popular hotel for groups - sports teams and an orchestra stayed there during our visit. A friend of ours described the hotel as "not luxurious but solid" - which sums it up. The location isn't great without a car-it's off a busy roundabout adjacent to the viaduct into Catanzaro old town.

Thanks to its central position, the Cassiodoro Rooms is a good choice for those who must travel to various points of interest in the city and you can also quickly reach the most beautiful coasts of Calabria and for those who love mountain tourism can discover the wonders of the Sila a few miles away.
This place is very good I enjoyed my stay. The owner is very nice always willing to please. What would boost his rating for me would be to put mini fridges in the rooms and maybe 32in or 40 in Tvs. This would be awesome cosy establishment. I plan on coming back to stay in the future enjoyed every minute of my stay in the calabria region. This B&B is on the top of my list in this location of the region.

Today Michael is gone away, but what he has accomplished has been transformed into the St.Michael Apartments, with the intention to review the structure alive and attended by many guests, once his numerous friends , today's travelers looking for an oasis in which to feel welcomed at home of ... Michele
We have spent last two nights of our holiday at San Michele Apartmets. We arrived around 8 pm and we got “welcomed” by a guy who did not smile at all and looked mad. Our apartmet was ok, the cleaning could be better and also some parts could be fixed. I wanted to hang a towel in the bathroom and the hook felt down. The wifi did not work at all and the breakfast was very very poor, we have traveled a lot throught the Italy and this has been the worst breakfast. Very poor choice of food. I expect that everthing should be prepared so people can eat and not that you have to wait untill stuff from the freezer will be backed. No fruit at all. Small room so if you got there and tables were occupied, you had to wait for table and than wait for food. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere so for dinner you have to go to Catanzaro Lido. We arrived on Sunday evening and we were very tired, so when we saw an arrow poiting to the restaurant next to these apartmets we were happy. Unfortunatelly this restaurant was not open...so we have to drive to the city. We would not stay here again.
