Great boutique hotel in the heart of califorte. We had the suite with private balcony and cannot say enough good things. The hotel is tastefully decorated and the breakfast was good and plentiful, the staff were all super helpful and informative. Highly recommended if you are visiting this beautiful island

Welcome to Hotel Riviera… Welcome to Carloforte a picturesque town on the unique Isola di San Pietro, “an island within an island”, an oasis of peace and beauty, a natural treasure only 20 minutes away by ferry from the south-west coast of charming Sardinia. Carloforte, with its deep cultural roots, represents an important phase in the history of Sardinia’s colonization.
Clean, great location, yummy breakfast, but wifi was a bit slow. Employees are super friendly! Super close to where the ferry arrives. Lots of rooms that overlook the port. Close to the beach but you need a car. Stayed for two nights and enjoyed!!

Il Ghiro Bed & Breakfast is a small three-storey house, built between the 18th and 19th Century, located in the old part of town. Our family became owner of it when our grandfather bought it in the 20th Century and opened a tailor's workshop at the ground floor. The house has been restructured in conformity with the precepts of bio-building. From the window you can see the central square dai Baruffi with its huge ficus trees, where old people and children sit together spending their time in quiet.
This place is perfect. Very clean and typical! The owner is kind and helpful. Breakfast is so good, everything fresh, typical and handmade! 2 min walk from the ferries. Bed are comfortable. I would more then happy to stay here again :-)

The hotel is located just a few blocks from downtown, a nice simple walk to everything. Our room was very clean, nicely decorated with a lovely french doors opening up to a nice terrace/balcony as we were on the 2nd floor, surrounded by the light scent from the lemon and lime trees with abundant ripe fruit. In the morning, Joe Obino and his lovely wife, along with their very friendly & helpful staff would greet us with an impressive display of homemade cakes, sweetrolls, and breads made by Mrs. Obino herself, as well as fresh fruits, cheeses, meats, dried fruits, nuts, juices, coffee, etc.

Hotel Mezzaluna is in Carloforte, on the Island of San Pietro, in Sardinia, in the centre of the Mediterranean. This island-off-an-island really has it all, for a holiday to write home about: sea, leisure, sport, nature, culture, food and wine. The hotel blends perfectly into the surrounding environment, nestling between Mediterranean maquis and a splendid pine forest, close to the Gulf of Mezzaluna, from which it has borrowed the name. The ideal place for a fun, relaxing holiday in an unspoilt natural landscape.
Struttura semplice, immersa nel verde in assoluta tranquillità. Vicinanza alle spiagge ideale . Gentilissimo lo staff, premurosi è disponibile. Ottima la colazione continentale, le camere sono piccole ma molto pulite. Stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful relaxing time. Great location immersed in nature, peaceful with a good sized swimming pool and bar. The staff were very professional, polite and helpful. The continental breakfast was plentiful and very acceptable. The rooms, all on one level which I particularly liked, are a bit small, but very clean. Excellent value for money. Will definitely stay there again.

Hieracon Hotel in Carloforte, on San Pietro Island, Sardinia, is a charming art nouveau building built in 1897, although its original plan dates further back to 1750. Rivano Palace, home to Hieracon Hotel, was the residence of one of the most famous families in Carloforte, then active in the trade of mining materials and lumber. The ground floor, where today there is the hotel restaurant, was once used as a shop, while the back - today used as reception and conference room, was the warehouse. Later on, the palace was the seat of the consulate of Denmark and Belgium, at the time when Carloforte was the place where the trades related to the local mines (Buggerru and Porto Flavia) took place, as Carloforte had risen to Sardinia's second commercial port after Cagliari. The wall structure is made of local stone (obtained from trachyte and basalt) and reaches a thickness of over one metre. The ceiling still preserves its original pine beams, which reach a 12-metre span. The outdoor veranda, located in the garden, as well as the linear indoor columns, located in the hall, is made of solid cast iron. Insed the garden there is the small private chapel dedicated to Saint Teresa, after which the neighbouring quarter is named as well, which is used exclusively for private functions and for the family's devotion. Thel building show clear art nouveau influences, which make it a real rarity in the island's architecture. On its front, among bas-reliefs with floral motifs, figures of dogs (dachshunds), the passion of the Dutch architect who designed the building, are especially distinguishable and noteworthy.
We are an adult couple staying here now & find it charming with character. Shower is excellent with great water pressure, comfortable bed, wifi & AC work very well, very clean room & property, breakfast served in the garden & excellent location on the waterfront. If we were to return to Carloforte we would definitely stay here again & we would recommend it. You can walk to restaurants, ferry, shops, marinas.
