Wonderful hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Room was clean and very well equipped. Customer laundry was very handy. Location was excellent, 500 metres from Gilmore SkyTrain. Parking right outside room was very convenient. And the ducks in the room have come home with us (after their tour around North America). Finally, note that the hotel no longer offers a local shuttle service (website needs changing to remove this).

Just spent 2 nights in hotel and quite dissappointed. Parking was good, walkable to many restaurants and shopping. Check in was pleasant. Room was dirty. Honestly there was black mold around the tub. I'm not saying a speck or two but a large amount.

Very nice hotel, decent price. The included breakfast was outstanding with lots of good options. The room do lack accessible and useful electrical outlets, and there are no USB ports to recharge all your devices. I brought my own, but outlets to plug them into was very limited.

On April 28th our flight to Vancouver was late arriving and the hotel we had reservations with gave away our room. We were stranded at the airport at 11pm with no where to go and our cruise ship didn't leave till 4pm the next day. I called Expedia customer service and they comped us a room here at the Delta Marriott. We got there super late and the staff was very kind and with excellent customer service skills. They gave us complimentary late check out which was very much appreciated after what we had been through. The room was spotless and the bed was heavenly. We slept very well

I have to talk about this hotel in 2 parts. The "hard product" and the "soft product". The actual hotel itself/ the hard product, is good. The rooms were fresh, modern and the bed was comfortable. The location, if your aim is to be in that part of town is good. It's across the road from a great shopping mall and located near decent public transport. In the room there was an issue with the water where the temperature in the sink tap and shower just gave whatever temperature it felt like, the options in the sink was often warm (for cold) and hot, but occasionally ice cold would come out. The shower would switch between hot/ cold on its own. However we changed rooms for another reason and this problem didn't occur in the other room. Now the soft product and "the problem". There is a protest / labour issues going on at this specific hotel. I'm not sure of the exact reason but it is very disruptive to the functioning of this hotel and it shouldn't even be open. Every day there were protestors outside this hotel. Some days they are noisier than others, but every day they were there. A google search indicates this has been on going for a while too. It also doesn't appear to be going away anytime soon. The hotel makes NO MENTION of this when you book it or any on pre-arrival communication. We were attempting to sleep off jet lag when we were woken up by a very loud and disruptive protest going out the front with loud drums. We complained to management and were promptly changed rooms but once we had been woken the damage had been done, the hassle of having to repack everything and move was also inconvenient. In addition to this all the hotels onsite services aren't working. The restaurant is closed, there is no bell person, no in room dining, no house keeping. This isn't a covid measure this is due to the staff shortage caused by the labour issues. Due to no house keeping, dirty towels and rubbish is to be left in the hall way. This causes the hall to be disgusting with rubbish and towels down the halls. As the restaurant is closed, there is a "grab and go" breakfast option. With pre made options laid out and a microwave to heat the breakfast. It is probably better than a Hampton Inn breakfast but a long way from what is expected at a Hilton property. After finding out about the labour issues at this hotel, it is severely understaffed and I don't think it should be operating until they fix their problems. If they must be open they certainly shouldn't be charging the rates they are for this property. Our stay was so bad, we considered leaving early for another hotel. In the end we were too busy to move but we won't be back.

Happy Day Hotel needs to be closed. It is unsafe, and likely can’t be renovated. Room 310 has live wiring exposed. The floors are filthy. Paint is needed everywhere, but wouldn’t make much difference. This place needs to be condemned, and Burnaby should be ashamed to allow this place to remain open. The “kitchenette” room cost $40 extra and was frightening.

My wife and I stayed at the new 401 inn last night on a business trip because of location and price, we paid in advance. Upon arrival we entered the front desk, decent in appearance, noticed the cheap coffee machine. We were assigned room# 20,OMG, The door wouldn’t open at first because water damage had caused to floor to bubble, the room smelled like 30 years of just pinesol. Upon further inspection I noticed huge repairs in the ceiling due to previous water damage, I then could smell mould, we called the front desk and got a different room without issue. When we entered the new room it was very similar, sticky floors, bad smell, previous hot and cold plus drainage pipe sticking right out of the wall. Really old tubs with bath fitters from the 80’s and mouldy caulking. The paint jobs were horrible and there are holes everywhere in the walls. The nicest feature about this other room was the mirror. I felt like I got east vanned out of a 100 bucks lol

This is the most complicated check-in in the world, EVER. They charge a deposit on your card, but bring cash, the nearest ATM is a block away. So, you eventually pay after getting cash and this is where it gets interesting. Instead of the standard handing over the key like other hotels and hostels, they have invented their own system. It is crazy. If you love escape rooms or the crystal maze, you've come to the right place. After paying, you WhatsApp the owner. I was tired and texted, ouch. He then texts the lady standing next to you at the hostel to check you've paid. He then sends you a pin code, you may have to wait about half an hour or more. The fun is just beginning. You then walk a block to another house. The pin is for a very elaborate key lock. You will have to watch a YouTube video on how to get in. What are they guarding you ask? I'm afraid you will be disappointed. The cleaner must also struggle to get in. Rather damp and rather basic and definitely not worth the trouble getting in. You will laugh in retrospect, although not at the time when you have travelled for 8 hours and are very tired. I hope the owner abandons this crazy system soon! Pay, get key, hello?!

Workstation: They provide a desk and chair but the desk has a glass top that allows you to see into the drawers, which looks nice, but I couldn't use a mouse at all without a mousepad or something else to cover. No ethernet plug except if you unplug the phone and slow wifi(more later). Room: The room was decently sized with small kitchen with stove, fridge, utensil, cups, plates, dishwasher, couch. Bed: Not super comfy like a pillow but not bad. Bathroom: Shower only. No tub. No individual shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Parking: $19 a night and you can park in basement level 1 and 3. It can gets pretty packed on weekends but not that bad during the weekday. Area: Lots of food places and grocery store within walking distance if you didn't drive. Breakfast: They provide free breakfast in the morning. Usually consist of coffee, 3 juices, fruit, cereal, 2 hot dish (1 vegetarian), bread/bagel/muffin, yogurt, hard boil eggs. I see a lot of people grab togo boxes for the food instead of eating there. Wifi: Slowest wifi I've ever seen for "High Speed Internet" that cost $13 if you're not a Marriott member. Max speed of 8Mb down/up. I feel like its shared across all your devices. Even plugging the ethernet from the room phone into my laptop and they cap it at 8 Mb down/up too. I tried calling them about it and they redirect you to someone offsite that can't do anything to increase it. Like 8Mb down, I can barely even stream a show and I have a tough time working with that speed so I ended up just taking the days off. I went to a random hot pot place and their wifi was at least 50Mb down. Final thoughts: Just because of the wifi I would not stay here again. If they actually had "High Speed Internet" I would book here again without a second thought.
