We had the best time ever in Mathis lodge. It was absolutely exceptional. I enjoyed my stay with my wife and everything was just perfect. The staff, view, rooms, food, atmosphere... I think that it actually is my favorite hotel in Bali and I already reserved my stay for next month. Thank you once again to the Mathis Lodge Team.

My Wife and I have been staying at Villa Adi for the past three months and each day of our stay was most enjoyable. Super clean facilities, friendly and most helpful staff and excellent service throughout all time made us feel in paradise and at home. The Villa is placed in a wonderful garden with exotic plants and trees and gives to you all the privacy you need. A private and well maintained swimming pool makes this place complete. The location of Villa Adi is strategically excellent to reach all points and beaches of interest within shortest time. This is definitely the place to go and we sure will come back!

Meditasi Bungalows is a relaxing place where the beautiful, private bamboo bungalows, and the delux suites, have dreamy balconies overlooking the beach. Each bungalow also has a lounge bed on the balcony, as well as an open air bathroom. If you want to relax even more you can book a yoga or meditation class daily from 5 pm to 6.30 pm. Also on the property is the Smiling Buddha Restaurant. It is a unique, organic Balinese restaurant overlooking the ocean. Here you can enjoy Balinese or international organic food, herbal drinks, or cocktails - so there is something for everyone. They offer cooking classes everyday at 11am. The Smiling Buddha is open 7.30am until late for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is excellent snorkeling at the beach or a swimming pool to relax in and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the ocean. The owner, Wayan, also offers Balinese Tradition Healing. It was here that Elizabeth Gilbert, author of 'Eat, Pray, Love' came and spent her best times in Bali.
My second stay at Meditasi and I plan to return again. The perfect place to unwind. The staff are exceptional, the rooms are spotless and private with an amazing view. The local village is welcoming and safe.

I had a reservation with Booking .com for a lovely bungalow at this hotel. I showed the booking at my arrival and was told that because I had not paid, I had no booking (it was ‘pay at the property’. I specifically chose this hotel because of positive reviews and the fact that it was on the beach with snorkelling on the doorstep; There was no bungalow available. I was offered a much lower spec room and after I got angry put on to the owner who told me not to be angry with the receptionist as she was his wife. She first denied this and after blushing affirmed this. I wanted the room that I booked which was why I booked it. There were no apologies, just rudeness. We agreed that the owner would cancel the original booking and I could look around Amed to see if there was alternative accomodation, in the meantime keeping the lower spec room for the next hour. I found a much better and wonderful room at Vienna Beach after 2 hours driving around. I was surprised to get an email from Booking.com as they had communicated with Bhuana Beach who said I had not shown up at their hotel....you can’t make this stuff up! And... online I learned that it was part of ‘Luxury Hotels in Amed’ please don’t believe this; when I had a look around, the place was quite dilapidated in an unkempt way with staff being uninterestedly playing loud music on their phones by the pool. During the crisis you’d thought that businesses would not jeapordize their reputation...unless of course they really don’t care. Shame on you Bhuana Beach. Be warned! What a terrible experience

We stayed at Amed Harmony while in Amed. It is not in the center of town but its only about a 15 min walk or short scooter ride to all the dive shops. There are some restaurants and ATMs nearby too. The room was very clean and very well priced. My favorite part was the cooking class! We made everything from scratch and the sambals were my favorite part! all so spicy :)

I would have kept on driving if not for recommendation from a friend. The best sunrise views, what a way to wake up in the morning. The manager had just picked up a fresh mahi- mahi fish from the market which was cooked for us for dinner on the rooftop restaurant. The residence is quiet and the staff are very friendly. Close to fast boat for the Gili island.

The place is easy to find as it's just right in front of Jemeluk Bay beach. We were greeted by the lady, who served us a really fresh welcome drink, she also helped me carry my heavy backpack to our room. The room has a pretty big balcony that has an amazing beach view, a sun/pool lounge chair, a table with 2 small chairs. The room was pretty big too, it has a huge bed, wardrobe and your own bathroom with a very unique shower head. For girls who have long hair and wouldn't like to wash your hair everyday, my recommendation is don't forget to bring shower cap :p The room has fan and aircon and also wifi. The room was great and the view was amazing but if you have a knee problem, it will be a bit difficult for you to climb up. The room is really high on top! The stairs size are not the same, so there will be a thick and thin stairs and it was pretty tiring just to come up and down the stairs. Breakfast is included though, and also a cleaning service, which was pretty nice. The breakfast is really good, who would ever thought eating pancake with lemon and honey? It was something different, but good different. The lady was very friendly, always greeted us and asking what are we going to do and if we need help from her. She recommended us a few places to snorkel. The guys who work there also very friendly and helpful. Jemeluk Bay beach just right in front of the place! Like 2 mins walk, there are a stairs to come down to the beach. It was the best beach to snorkel in Amed for me. At night, it was really dark, like the lights at the area was not so much, but the stars! The stars are crazily amazing! And if you're lucky, you might be able to see a shooting stars. Always remember to close your door if you are turning on your lights in the balcony, as there are so many bugs and insects that really like the lights. We had to try to clean everything on our first night here, as they are literally everywhere, crawling on the floor too. It gets better the next day, we stayed here for 9 nights :) The homestay also rented a snorkeling equipment if you don't have yours and also laundry! We didn't know that she has that laundry service until we saw the board. Overall, it was a nice peaceful stay here in Bukit Indah. My only concern is the stairs are pretty tiring. I have a knee problem so, it wasn't that great for me.

Had a nice stay, beautiful view over the bay, quite close to the Japanese Shipwreck (less than 1 km but not really recommended to walk it). Simple but okay breakfast, swimming pool is nice too. Inside need some maintenance (shower was more a stream, mosquito net can't close etc) but the bed on the balcony was gold.
