It seems like most folks have a grandmother, great-uncle or some other distant relative that used to live in Brooklyn, or perhaps a friend that lives there now. In the early 1900s, it was a mecca for immigrants arriving via Ellis Island. A hundred years later, young professionals and artists left pricey Manhattan digs for Brooklyn's cheaper and more expansive space. Neighborhoods like Brooklyn Heights and Park Slope, which had fallen into disrepair over the years, were restored and reborn as funky enclaves. Walk or bike over the historic Brooklyn Bridge (or ride the subway) to Brooklyn Heights for a stroll along the Promenade and breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline. Meander through Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for a taste of nature in the urban wilds. Catch a performance at the world-famous Brooklyn Academy of Music. From the delicious Italian restaurants of Bensonhurst to the Irish bars that line the avenues of Bay Ridge, from the hotdogs and rollercoasters of Coney Island to the bagels and handball courts of Greenpoint, Brooklyn is a state of mind as well as a dynamic community. Discover why, no matter where people move on to, they remain Brooklynites at heart.

I had a long stay (ten days) for an extended work trip and cannot say enough about the staff at the hotel. Every issue I had, from parking issues to needing body wash, the staff went above and beyond to help me. For example, parking late at night in the back lot, someone came outside to help direct my car into a very tight spot. Totally unnecessary but very helpful. I've stayed in much fancier hotels and not gotten nearly the level of service and care that I got at this hotel. I can't recommend it highly enough. Also, a great location in Brooklyn near restaurants and shops and not too far from the highway.

This is central Williamsburg, in the middle of the action and on the stoop of local hotspots, from entertainment to culture. Minutes from Manhattan and moments to all major NY transport hubs.
For some people, the Williamsburg might be just their cup of tea. The rooftop pool is nice, with great views, the bed was comfortable, and it's well-located in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn. And perhaps you won't mind things like the noisy partying that we experienced till the small hours in the bar area downstairs, which continued through the night as people noisily made their way to bed - or the smell of weed wafting down the corridor. Maybe it's an age thing. But whether you're there to party or not, the room we had was, frankly, rather small, barely sound insulated, and generally tired. The en-suite was eccentric and elderly. The hotel elevators are slow and too few. For a 5-year old hotel, all this is very surprising. The upshot is, by European standards this feels like a 3-star hotel. Yet we were paying around $400 a night. We also found ourselves double charged - we paid upfront through Booking.com - an oversight the hotel admitted and promised to rectify, which they eventually did, after many time-consuming emails, international phone calls and an overdrawn bank account for several days. The eventual refund left us significantly out of pocket on the currency exchange and bank charges, something the hotel has so far ignored any communication about. Given the recent, and well-documented, news of bankruptcy and other alleged shenanigans around the Williamsburg, it's maybe not so surprising, in hindsight, that we didn't have the 5-star experience we were hoping for. I wish we'd known about all this beforehand. One bit of good news: several new hotels are being built in this part of Brooklyn. Let's hope they're finished soon.

We recently took 10 college students on a career trip and stayed at the Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown. The team was incredibly helpful in preparing for our stay, as well as greeting us upon arrival. The location is perfect to easily travel into the city, subway, or walk across the bridge. I'd stay here again for any group bookings.

Set in a 10-story building, the hotel offers 194 guest rooms and suites; a full-service restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner; a lounge open daily for evening drinks and light bites overlooking the NYC skyline; a 24-hour Field House fitness center; 50-person screening room, and a grab-and-go café with a menu of locally sourced and fresh fare, among additional features. 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge was named one of the Top 10 Hotels in New York City in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards 2019.
The room wasn’t clean, everything was sticky. Loud windows. No duvet. Sticky rug and sticky drapes. Rooftop service was horrible, the server spilled an entire melted ice raw bar tower ( that tasted horrible) on to my friends shoes and drinks without any apologies or even offering him a napkin. Pool attendants were not being respectful of the guests. Very immature. Just honestly a horrible experience.will not go back and regret booking this vs Greenwich hotel or soho grand.

Plush bedding, huge flat screen TV’s and Cascadia Soapery toiletries invite you to unwind and stay awhile.
Be careful with this hotel. They are extremely dirty. There was a used syringe on my bed. I got injured and the hotel refuse to even report it. ANDRE the manager (be careful with him also, he is a liar) he kick us out after requesting our documentations (he even request my medical record, which it’s illegal) Andre Hammond, liar.

Ace Hotel Brooklyn belongs to Boerum Hill, on the cusp of Downtown Brooklyn — a block from the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Station, at the ever-evolving intersection of everything. The latest chapter in Ace’s long romance with New York, we built Ace Brooklyn from the ground up: every piece in service of the borough’s tireless ingenuity, made to move and breathe right along with the city itself. Designed by longtime Ace collaborators Roman and Williams, the hotel’s Brutalist facade welds seamlessly with interiors inspired by the raw artist studio spaces of the European modernists. There’s a communal lobby, a large-scale installation by artist Stan Bitters, and guest rooms that feature floor-to-ceiling windows, panoramic views of Manhattan, Staten Island and the Statue of Liberty. We planted a verdant indoor garden complete with double-sided fireplace and sawtooth skylight, and made sure to furnish plenty of indoor and outdoor work spaces for our neighbors and guests — a lasting place to continue the city’s rich tradition of people doing things their own way, together.
Everything about my stay here was smooth. The staff was super friendly and always helpful....from sending an IT person super quick to help me with connecting my TV, to delivering food from the restaurant crazy quick, lending me an umbrella and answering every question with a smile and great attitude. This truly makes a difference. The hotel has everything you need and is super well-located. Could not recommend more.

The Condor hotel is truly a luxury boutique oasis in the midst of genuine day-to-day Brooklyn. Yes the neighborhood is a bit gritty but it is real and it is perfectly fine to walk around. All through the day and well into the evening folks from the Hasidic community are out and about, little kids walking and mom's pushing baby carriages well into the evening. The subway stop is a short walk away but that's the case for about everything in NYC. The hotel itself, while small, is very elegantly appointed with a beautiful lobby, very comfortable and clean sitting area with computer access, and a very peaceful and green garden in the back with comfortable chairs. This is my second stay here and the rooms are immaculately clean and very spacious. As others have mentioned the beds are incredibly comfortable with tons of pillows. The bathroom has plenty of room to move around in and I was really pleased that there was not excessive wastefulness/plastic with the toiletries. There was plenty to use for what I needed. And should you want more toiletries or towels all you need to do is ask. The staff is incredibly accommodating.
