We came here while passing through St Helens. Got a couple parmi’s on a Thursday night, when they had their parmi specials ($18). It was the biggest parmi I have ever had, very tasty too! The interior is very basic and could tell it was a locals pub. But they had great pub food. Would recommend!

Scamander Beach Resort is centrally located on the beautiful east coast of Tasmania where the beaches are pristine, the air is clean and the views are breathtaking. We are uniquely positioned overlooking the picturesque Scamander Beach and calm waters of the Scamander River. We welcome you to come and enjoy our beautiful surroundings as you relax during your stay.
Stayed one night. Was told we have one of the newly refurbished rooms. It was neat and tidy, but, the shower was disgusting, I nearly vomited and could not shower in there. For a newly refurbished room, I don’t think they had cleaned the shower ever. The doona was a cheap $25 job from Kmart, no warmth from it at all, a big disappointment when it gets quite cold. But worst of all, Jude, the receptionist, charged us twice and once we found it on our bank account, we rang and was told, I will refund that right now and send you through an email to confirm. I rang every day for nearly a week after requesting proof it had been processed. Told every time that it had been done. Finally got another staff member yesterday, and I explained the situation, she looked on computer, and told me that it had not been done, Jan quickly rectified it, sent us an email. Jude lied every time I rang, telling me it had been done. I would never recommend this place to anyone from this experience

Best ever, good value Best caravan park I have ever stayed at. Easy walk to the centre of town, friendly staff. The facility were sensational, I have never seen a camp kitchen so well maintained and resourced, but better than that there are two one indoor one outdoor. Top pick, happy to recommend to family and friends. Very accommodation for a fury family member.

At the Bay of Fires Bush Retreat we offer relaxed, simple-yet-stylish communal accommodation – an enticing place to rest your head. The Retreat is only minutes’ drive from the stunning sights of the Bay of Fires and is the perfect base from which to explore this iconic area.
Never before have I stayed somewhere or done something that lived up to or beyond the expectations set by the website. I even told my husband when we drove up, "look it probably won't be as good as I've said, but i'm sure we will enjoy it" Well, from the very first moment, the tour of the site, the entire site, the glamping tent, bathrooms, kitchen, campfires, people, food, vibe, pick your own fruit n veg, breakfast.... every single thing was thought of and just perfect. I had always wanted to go glamping and this set the bar amazingly high. I've travelled the world and this is in my faves. I'll come back to tassie just for this again.

White Sands Estate - ocean view villas, Ironhouse Brewery Distillery and vineyard, Bar and cafe and extensive facilities. Situated halfway between St Helens and Bicheno, we are ideally located for you to enjoy all the east coast has to offer including Freycinet National Park & the Bay of Fires.
Disappointing food, was like straight from the RSL. I'm guessing they have a cook, not a chef behind the scenes. We went two nights in a row, and both the same disappointing. Lamb shoulder looked like grandmas stew and tasted the same. No imagination. Grilled fish was cooked well done, then grilled to extra dry, yum, not. Check out the photo, the whole fish dish was so dry you could just lift the food off the plate and not even need to wash the plate!!

We have just been back to The French House for a 2nd visit and enjoyed ourselves even more than our first visit earlier in the year. Jan and John are great hosts and provide an unique, in our experience, combination of comfort, welcome and super breakfast. We met another couple there on their 4th visit and they were just as keen as ourselves. What a shame Jan and John have decided to retire this month but we wish them every success for the future!

Peter makes you welcome the minute you arrive. Each room has its own bathroom and our room had a small sitting room where the sunlight streamed in. The rooms are immaculately made up. We even had fresh roses. Peter allows you use of the whole house. He is attentive to every detail and cannot do enough for you. He even takes a beautiful portrait shot of all his guests (best photos of ourselves ever!) Fabulous place to stay in this lovely spot in NE Tassie.

87 Acres of diverse wetlands and dry lands with an amazing range of bird life. Our two lovely cottages, and three Californian villas are all self contained with fantastic views from all. We have separate laundry facilities and free WiFi. Wander around the property for a nature walk or take the bike lane into town on one of our bicycles. Try your hand at fishing in Georges River or down on Georges Bay without even leaving the premises. Better still just kick back and relax on your deck with a drink or two and then wander over to our BBQ area cook dinner and relax around the fire pit. Our property has 3 klms of bay frontage and is bordered by Georges river.
After a long drive it wasn't a friendly welcome to be advised of the strict 2.00pm check in and how we should have read the multiple pages of information provided. Our bad. However after returning at 2.00pm we were very pleased to be shown our accommodation for the overnight stay in the newer units which were well furnished with a deck out the back and lovely large glass sliding windows. There were free laundry facilities on site. The township of St Helens is a very short drive and worth a look.
