Dear tourist, hostel "Las Olas" is placed on a hill side over looking lake Titicaca. From any of the eleven suites you have a marvellous view over the bay and the lake. You have spacious gardens with hammocks and deck chairs on the different terraces leading down the hill side. On our grounds you can use a fire place and we have several stone tables and benches to eat outside to enjoy the views. For those who love plants and flowers, you will find an enormous variety of predominantly local species. All suites have been individually designed, using as many natural and local materials as possible and respecting traditional ways of construction. They provide a maximum comfort and you will find many artistic details for the eye. From your living room area, from your bed and almost from any point of your room you have a perfect view of the lake through the huge window fronts. Each suite is provided with a small kitchen unit, private bath an inside hammock and a fireplace. There is also a little electric heater for your use We do a big effort to work very ecological. The cabins are built with a complete heat insulation of polystyrene inside the roof, as well as in the walls below the facade. We preheat the water with big solar panels and than feed it into the electric boiler to guarantee very hot water 24 hours a day. We recycle all our washing machine water with an automatic sprinkler to wet our extensive gardens, and we also collect any plastic or glass bottle left behind to be recycled.
I've never stayed at a place that had so much care put into it. Looks like somewhere I could spend a whole week on my honeymoon. Staff were very friendly, view and buildings were amazing. The price was pretty comparable to some of the other hotels I checked out in that area up the hill, but in the quality there was just no comparison.

I strongly recommend against staying at this hotel, not for the facilities, which are good, but for the attitude of the staff. My company were paying for my trip- the staff spent three days telling me each time I passed reception that they had not sent through the necessary details and that they would have to take a payment from me personally. I have two different concierges the company’s number and told them to get in touch. They told me they couldn’t get through. The evening before we checked out I called them myself, was immediately put through, and it transpired that they had sent the documents through several days before and the hotel staff had misplaced them. I told the reception staff we would not be staying there again- neither of them had th presence of mind to apologise, they just looked down and wouldn’t meet my eye. To add insult to injury, we were told we could have two complimentary drinks- we ordered them on the last night, a lemonade and a glass of wine, only to be told the next morning by the same receptionist, estaphania, who had repeatedly insisted I would have to pay for the room myself that these drinks were not eligible and she refused to discount them from the bill. Not only was there no apology but no effort to make amends and she continued treating me rudely. It is fair enough to say that they were suspicious, hostile, inefficient and lazy.

So much more than the world's first salt hotel: we are Palacio de Sal. On the shores of the majestic Salar de Uyuni -under an astonishing sky full of magnificent colours and stars- stands, bursting with historical significance, the Palacio de Sal (The Salt Palace). A haven of magical moments where every end of the day is the evidence of an irrefutable fact: no dream, however extraordinary it may seem, is ever diluted before it comes true.
We stayed at the hotel on May 23rd 2022. The hotel was hosting some type of business meeting with about 50 people. While all the hotel staff wore mask, and some even wore gloves, guest were not required to wear masks even though it is hotel policy that all guest wear masks in ALL public places. Each area like the bar and restaurant had occupancy limits. These were not followed. When I asked about why the hotel did not ask guest to follow the policy the management would not answer. (VIA Whats APP) they explained the policy but would not explain why they did not follow it. The 50 unmasked people congregated in the lobby most of the evening. Or they would move from the bar (limit if 25 people) or go to the restaurant, limit 61 people. Making it impossible for other guest to use any of those areas without having a high probability of getting exposed to Covid. NOT WORTH THE RISK. We moved to another hotel, which was much nicer only 200 yards away and the other hotel had very strong covid protocols and the followed them!!

We loved our stay at La Cupula! We were drawn in by the beautiful stained glass windows and it was the best place that we stayed in in the whole of Bolivia! The rooms were lovely, hot water and clean. And the staff were very thoughtful, speaking many languages and helping us with our stuff. The views from the hotel were beautiful, I can’t imagine staying anywhere In Copacabana other than on the hillside, looking over the shoreline. The best part were the gardens! If you’ve been travelling a while and don’t want to chill in a hostel room any longer than look no further than La Cupula. We loved the opportunity to sit in the beautiful gardens in the sun to chill in the hammocks with the alpacas!!

I stayed at Hotel de Sal Luna Salada and Hotel Palacio de Sal. Here is my review of Hotel De Sal Luna. See Hotel Palacio de Sal for my review of that hotel. I will compare each attribute on how I came up with my rating. Check in process - 5. The process was smooth and easy. Staff - 5. Everyone we came in contact with was helpful and polite. At both hotels it was a mix of the staffs English skills, but we are in a Spanish speaking country and do not expect the staff to know English. Room - I give the room a 5. We had two rooms, a double, and a single. Hotel de Sal Luna Salada - the double - you walked into the room and immediately looked out over the salt flats through a huge window. The room had a desk, comfortable king size bed, sitting area that looked over the salt flats. All the furnishing were crafted of salt with comfortable cushions. The walls had local artwork. The bathroom was large and modern. The single was similar to the double only slightly smaller with a queen bed. But the view was just as spectacular. Both rooms had blackout curtains you could use to cover the windows and individual heating systems to control the rooms temperature. Hotel public area - Hotel de Sal Luna Salada - 4 - while some of the areas seemed to be upgraded some need some work. Food - included breakfast and dinner. Hotel de Sal Luna Salada - 4 - the dinner is waiter service we had three courses and we were given a nice selection for each course. Two of the folks have allergies, one has dairy and wheat and the other nuts. The waiter was familiar with the food options and made appropriate adjustments to accommodate the allergies. Breakfast was buffet with lots of options. We did not use the spas services.

I made a last-minute reservation through Expedia. Normally I go straight to the hotel, but I had some points I wanted to redeem. I paid over $600 to stay for three nights. I am a VIP gold member for Expedia and they did not honor that. It is a good hotel but not great. The moment I made my reservation with Expedia I called the hotel because they had given me a specific room in the past, and it wasn’t available on the Expedia app. The person that I spoke to told me he was trying to get me the room I had last time but he couldn’t see my reservation. So I waited until The reservation went through but then they changed everything and they said we don’t have the room anymore because the tower is closed. Next day when I came to check in all of a sudden for a certain amount of money $300 worth the room was available. It was magic, but not magic I was willing to pay for and so I didn’t get the room I wanted I am a VIP gold member for Expedia and they would not honor it they didn’t care that I tip everybody and their mother when I get here. Next time I’ll choose another hotel and that’s the end of that. I don’t sweat the small stuff, but for making an extra couple dollars they just lost a customer that comes in a week at a time and tips everybody and their mother. So shove the upgrade up your butt. It’s all good with me. The biggest mistake I did was paying for the full amount through the app of Expedia. But you live and learn

Los Tajibos Hotel es un hotel contemporáneo en Santa Cruz de la Sierra, rodeado de naturaleza, ambientes vibrantes y un espíritu de hospitalidad sin precedentes. English & Español (debajo) I called the hotel and asked them if they offered any special honeymoon accommodations. I was told to include a comment in my reservation mentioning that I wanted the honeymoon package. I made a reservation through the Los Tajibos website. The morning after making the reservation I called to make sure they had made a note about my request and got verbal confirmation of such. When we arrived nothing of what they had mentioned (rose petals, champagne bottle, or breakfast in bed next morning) were set up or scheduled. To makes matters even worse, the room smelt like a wet dog. I went to the front desk with my complains. To no avail I was told that there was nothing they could do and that didn’t see my request on their system. I tried to be proactive and tell them that I was willing to even pay more to find a quick solution to the matter, but I was turned down and told there was nothing they could do. To make matters even worse, I tried to use the shower later that day and the cold water was shut off making it impossible to jump in the shower because of the scorching hot water. I was told by a staff member that this may be due to the work they are doing on the new buildings. Nevertheless, at no point during my stay or to this day was I offered an apology or remediation. I spend half of the year staying in different hotels and this has been by far the worst experience and service. I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere for your lounging accommodations. Los Tajibos didn’t measure up to the special occasion and didn’t even try to make up for it. I have a really hard time understanding how it is 5-star hotel is specially compared to other newer alternatives in Santa Cruz. As I side note, I also had dinner at Jardin de Asia and had to wait over 90 min to get our food after ordering. Unfortunately, this hotel has become a far cry from what it once was. FYI: I stayed in room 156 on December 30th, 2021.

It is not the easiest task to choose a hotel on the other side of the world from your cozy surroundings back home. Of course you check Tripadvisor and a few other sites before finally making your decision. But still, you never know. If you by chance are going to La Paz in Bolivia, trust me on this: Stay at Hotel Sagarnaga. You will not be disappointed. Good prices, really nice staff, clean comfortable rooms and perfectly situated in the city. Most staff speak really good English and they understand service. Breakfast is simple but good enough for you to make it until lunch. Also, should you have any desires to climb a mountain, ride a bike, go on a bustour to Lake Titicaca etc you have several agencies of which Jiwaki would be one I would recommend just 10-50 meters from the hotel. And yes, La Paz is situated at 3700 masl and you might, no, you should be very careful upon arrival and give it at least 48 hrs of rest before you attempt any kind of activity. Hence Hotel Sagarnaga: Within 60 seconds distance you have ATM´s, Money exchange, Good restaurants, small stores to buy your water to have in the hotel room while you rest and try to get oxygen into your lungs. In other words, Hotel Sagarnaga offers you a perfect infrastructure to get comfortable and catch your breath.
