Good hotel. Room was large and clean. The pool was infested with kids.....As an adult, I wouldn't go in it. The outside pool wasn't set up and was full of algae. Parking is attached to the hotel but its a bit of a walk.

Except the location

There are nothing much to say but it is a poorly managed property! The location is good, parking garage is expensive, room quality is poor, stained restrooms, smelly carpet! It was hard to finish my stay here.

Ageing, in disrepair, you get less than you pay for

We stayed here because of family emergency. The location is good and the parking garage across the street was very convinient. There is parking at the hotel, but it is always full and, if you have a larger vehicle, you will want to opt for the ample sapce of the nearby garage. Our arrival was greeted by an indifferent staff member who wanted to charge $20 for use of ammenities immediately. There was no way I was going to have a hold put on my card for this and refused. Our room was liveable but definitley not what you would expect for a hotel this close to DC in a popular area of town. The door to our room was damaged and looked as though someone had tried to beat it with a hammer at one point based on the dirt and scratches. The room had an overall odd smell. I regretted my choice as soon as I walked in. The wallpaper was poorly fixed, the shower only worked after my husband fixed it. There had been repairs to the shower surround but it looked like sad discolred patches. The office chair was jammed under the desk area so hard it couldn't be removed and in was in poor condition. Housekeeping came and tidied which, based on the letter received at check-in, I was not expecting. The bed was made and towels hung, but I think they just folded our original towels. They may have swept the carpet, but the dirt on the bathroom floor remained. If you use the back hallway near the closed swimming pool, be prepared for an incredible stench. Stay at The Bethesdan. It's a very nice place, with nice staff, in the same location. You will pay more, but it will be worth it.

This hotel is nothing special but it meets our needs when visiting family in Bethesda with a decent-sized room and all the standard amenities - restaurant, bar, snack shop. It's major selling point is that the rooms usually hover below $130 a night. If they become more expensive than that, this place loses its allure.

Beautiful brand new property

Beautiful brand new hotel with fabulous service. Very comfortable bed and quiet rooms. Amazing gym! Only downside was it wasn’t clear where self parking was (I didn’t know if I could leave my car across the street overnight) and there was no room service. There are a lot of great dining options watching driving distance and the close location to the metro is great. Already booked my next trip!

Worst Experience Yet

Reviewed By BusinessExec

I travel weekly for work and this is the worst experience I have had. Upon arrival the front desk knew nothing about the reservations. When I called the billing department stated they needed my passport uploaded to some website. I am a US citizen traveling within the states so I do not regularly carry my passport. When I told them I only have a US driver's license with me, I was told I needed to upload a picture of my drivers license and credit card and they would run it through their approval committee. All this while I am standing in the lobby at 5pm after working all day. When I told him I did not have access to a computer to upload all this he stated it is their policy. I asked to cancel the reservation so that I may easily go get checked in elsewhere and they refuse to waive my first night's stay even though I was physically unable to check in. I will be seeking legal representation. This review is intended to save someone the hassle of being stranded at 5pm like I was considering none of these requirements are displayed anywhere on the booking information.
