Simpel but good
Reviewed By Linda BThe hotel is quite simpel but staff is super friendly and willing to help with everything. Breakfast is excellent as is dinner though the choice out of three main meals might be a bit weird. However, I’m a very picky eater and the staff was more than willing to change the menu for me within reason. I got a schnitzel even though it wasn’t on the menu.

Reviewed By 28Chris03Wir waren zwar nur eine Nacht dort, hatten aber ein sehr großes Zimmer mit bequemem Bett, ausreichend großem Bad, Zusatz-Couch und Schrank incl. Safe. Das Frühstück ist in allen Bereichen extrem reichhaltig und schmackhaft, es ist incl. Prosecco wirklich alles vorhanden und man darf sogar, wenn man das möchte, mittels bereitgelegter Alufolie seine Wanderbrotzeit mitnehmen. Den ganzen Tag gibt es Kaffee/Kuchen sowie Likören kostenlos im Bayerwaldstüberl. Getränke zum günstigen Preis sind von Wasser, Saft, Bier, Limo, Weinen ebenfalls vor Ort zu kaufen, Gläser aller Art können auch für eigene Getränke genützt werden. Man kann abends auch gemütlich auf der ruhigen Terrasse vor dem Haus sitzen. Der Besitzer, Herr Maier, ist sehr freundlich, er kann stolz auf sein Haus sein. PS: liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Wanderweg ins Schwellhäusl

Die Inhaber sind sehr hilfsbereit und gaben uns gute Tips für den Tagesausflug. Wir werden aufjedenfall wieder diese Pension besuchen. Es hat uns allen sehr gut gefallen. !

We booked an “Erkerzimmer” which was spacious and had two balconies. Nice large bathroom with a tub – all super clean! Generous breakfast buffet and excellent dinners, the Schweinehaxen were memorable!!! Excellent salad bar with a nice variety of tasty salads. The spa facility seems to be a new addition and it is a gem!! The indoor pool is gorgeous and all saunas and other spa facilities are beautifully designed and well maintained. Considering the level of service and quality, this hotel is very reasonably priced!! The only distraction was the smoking by other guests on the balconies, which comes into the room when the doors/windows are open. Not sure that there is a solution….

Reviewed By alexdodoI stayed for one night as part of a cycling break with my girlfriend. Nice room, pleasant check-in and good views from the balcony. Very nice swimming pool over the road included in the price, with sauna, jacuzzi and steam rooms. Breakfast was also good and although we were one of the last down to breakfast, on request the lady made us fresh boiled eggs as the last ones had already gone. Before checkout, I asked if it would be possibly to have a short swim and check out slightly later, but this was bluntly refused and we had to stick to the 10:30am checkout, which we thought was very early for a Sunday morning. We'd stayed the previous night at the Pension Elan, and overall we preferred the Elan. The Sonneneck is still an excellent choice, we just found the Elan to be friendlier and welcoming.

Reviewed By 5KBNWe have stayed with Ferry and Ivana three times and it has been wonderful. Every guest no matter if children, parents or grandparents is welcomed in a warm and lovely way. The rooms and apartments are very clean, comfortable and nice. Breakfast is a good buffet and they will do anything to make it special just for you. Dinner offers great choices and no matter if Vegetarian or Gluten intolerant you will be happy! We really enjoy to stay at the Woodpecker!

Reviewed By Michael MDieses Hotel ist sehr charmant und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Inhaber sind aus Tschechien und sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war gut und hatte eine gute Auswahl. Sehr lecker das Brot und die Semmeln. Abendessen im Restaurant ist sehr gut und schmackhaft. Tolles Schweineschnitzel mit Pommes gab es dort. Von der Hotelterrasse gibt es übrigens einen super Blick auf den Arber. Dorthin werde ich sicher wieder verreisen.

THE BEST LOCATION
Reviewed By wariceThis is a large house almost opposite the train station-you simply walk down a paved inclined walkway-it is approx 200 yards from the train station.So really if you have come for a walking holiday versus a skiing holiday there is no better a location.The hosts are fantastic.The apartment is very large with a kitchen-fully stocked.living room with 2 sofas that could sleep children and adults., large bedroom with a chaise lounge, bathroom with shower and your own private hall in the apartment.You also have the view of the Arbor from the balcony.Simply put this place is a great deal and the location of a 3 min walk to the train station makes a huge difference as you can go to different stops and commence your walks.The walk I strongly recommend is Falkenstein its not difficult however its not easy either. Use Bayern pass to get here from Munich Airport--freisling-plattling-bayern Eisenstein. 31 euros approx for a couple. when here get a GUTI pass so all trains and buses to explore national park are free with chunky discounts off local attractions as well. Do the tree top walk at Baumwipfelpfad Bayerischer Wald,go see the Arbor. there is wildlife to see on the well marked trails if you are lucky --we got a glimpse of a pair of lynxes which is rare; we also also the Eurasian otter on 3 occasions on the river walk.Overall a fantastic location that caters well to adults only and families.A holiday where I came back fitter than when I set off and trimmed up.I would recommend walking poles for Falkenstein walk,Loved this holiday.

Reviewed By exagrammUnterkunft war super. Drei grosse Schlafzimmer (2 mit Doppelbett 1 mit 2 Betten), grosses Wohnzimmer, grosses Badezimmer und grosse Wohnküche. 2 Balkone mit super Aussicht. Alles super ausgestattet (Küchenutensilien waren extrem umfangreich). Kamin im Wohnzimmer. Alles funktionierte und die Sauberkeit war vorbildlich. Reservierter überdachter Parkplatz. Die Schlüsselübergabe klappte genau wie besprochen. Natürlich steppt in Oberlindbergmühle (so heisst der Ort, an dem sich das Haus Bergblick befindet) nicht gerade der Bär, aber das wusste ich schon vorher. Wer lesen kann ist klar im Vorteil. Aber wer Action möchte, verirrt sich eh nicht dorthin. Wer allerdings Ruhe in einer grandiosen Landschaft sucht, der ist im Paradies angekommen. Ich habe sonst immer etwas zu meckern, aber diesmal muss ich passen. Diese Unterkunft kann ich uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.
