Had a lovely 2 night stay here in a room with a view over the bay. Tastefully decorated, very relaxed atmosphere - breakfast available until 10.30 - and lovely hosts. Well worth the climb up the hill. I'm already thinking about a longer autumn visit

Seven friends on walking break didn't know Barmouth or where to eat. By chance found this gem. Very friendly staff. Excellent menu. Reasonable prices. Seven meals served efficiently and with a smile We will certainly visit here again when next in Barmouth

Clean, modern, well designed, comfortable and warm, The Barmouth Beach Club is at the end of the promenade and a 30 minute walk into town, maybe a bit longer along the beach. Very good breakfast, great attentive service and private car parking all add to the experience… as does the sunset.

After a leisurely drive from north Shropshire via Snowdonia National Park my wife and myself looked forward to our 3-night break at the Royal Hotel. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed at reception by the bar area and allocated Room 5 on the 1st floor. Having made the booking some months earlier we were pleased that the hotel had met with our request for a double on a lower floor. The room itself was of a good size, well equipped with period style furniture i.e. desk, chairs, bedside tables with Tiffany type lighting, wardrobe, television, hospitality tray etc. The excellent tiled en-suite comprising shower cubicle, washbasin with mirror, and toilet was very clean as was the bedroom itself. Breakfast on the Sunday morning proved to be somewhat disappointing, with the cooked items arriving before the cereals, since the latter had somehow been overlooked. Apologies were given, but of course it had the effect that both courses were served together! The fried egg was very undercooked, also the bacon and sausage were underdone, and the toast showed only a "glimmer" of having passed through the toaster. However, on the Monday and Tuesday there was a complete turnaround as the breakfasts were excellent as was the attentive accompanying service. The overall improvement I thought most likely because of a change of chef and team members. No other meals were taken during our stay. Throughout our visit we enjoyed the relaxing accommodation and the staff were at all times friendly, helpful, and polite. On a further note the artwork around this period building adds an attractive feature and I believe most, if not all, to be the work of a local artist. The Royal does not have its own car park but an arrangement with a local company situated about 150 yards from the hotel costs £5.00 a night, which seemed to be good value. An enjoyable stay amidst comfortable surroundings.

Absolutely outstanding little pub/hotel in the middle of Barmouth. Added bonus of free parking nearby. The staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. Especially the 2 ladies who usually looked after us at breakfast. Lots of variations for breakfast and I can honestly say the vegetarian breakfast was the best I’ve ever had. No veggie sausages pretending to be meat. We had a 1st floor room looking out over the street. If the window was open there was a little bit of noise coming from the pavement tables but with the window closed there was nothing. The room was modern and bright and the bathroom had a bath and walk-in shower. Important if your mobility isn’t brilliant. The quality refreshments tray was refilled every day.

We are situated by the Barmouth bridge overlooking the sea and the Mawddach estuary. Seven minutes walk to the main beach, town and harbour. We have eight en-suite rooms, spread over the first and second floor (stair access only), all with parking space (private carpark). We are an Adults Only B&B, no children, no pets allowed.
We’ve just returned from three nights at Lawrenny Lodge and can only say how much we enjoyed our stay. We arrived to a very warm welcome and Kevin’s cinnamon buns to take up to the room. The view from the room was outstanding (room 7) with comfy chairs from which to admire it. The bed was extremely comfortable with nice pillows and a good shower in the en-suite. Breakfast was preordered and everything brought to the table which worked well. Kevin and Marie were very helpful on things to do, and even brought us some books on Snowdonia when we said we were visiting the area. Great location for walking into town was a bonus. We will be back!
