Incredibly attentive and accommodating service providing for an excellent ambiance. Highly recommend for couples. The restaurant staff are friendly and the food delicious. The hotel staff among some of the best I've ever experienced with regards to their attentive yet discrete service, information and genuine warmth.

We set out to travel to Contis using the shortest rout along country roads. This was a grave mistake, the road were appalling, very uneven surface which, combined with the twisting nature if the rout, made control of the car rather tiring. Our original destination was to have been Contis but, we stopped at Barbotan to stretch our legs in the very agreeable park there. We both agreed that we did not wish to continue the trip so, decided to find a restaurant for lunch. We remembered a restaurand we had visited some 5 or 6 years previously And I was sure I knew where it was. My memory proved accurate and, having the dog with us, we took the only table set for lunch on the patio. The restaurant we remembered was now an hotel and was very well appointed not, however very well attended. The entrée, a salade was good, but the main course was not so good. I had travers de Porc (ribs) and my wife had crevettes; the travers was accompanied by my pet hate, courgettes! They were mixed up with some other unidentifiable vegetable, probably, judging from the colour, a yellow pepper and chips. The porc was very 'smoky' in taste and covered in barbeque sauce overall, a very unsatisfactory meal. We both skipped dessert and has coffee instead. In fairness it must be said that the wine ws very acceptable but, was not included in the cost of the meal. Overall very disappointing as we both remembered the 'old' restaurant as being very good both in content and price. We returned home on main roads!

Comfortable and quiet, this hotel is a bit dated but has its own restaurant and is actually good value for money, we only stayed the one night and did not use the restaurant but is ideal for a longer stay. The staff speak little English but are pleasant and helpful and we did enjoy our brief stay.

We have found at home in this hotel. The room is not very large, but well equipped for two people, which is saying a lot sometimes. With the heat of summer the air conditioning was welcome. Friendly and smiling staff. The nights were quiet and no noise. And we have been enjoying the pool at the hotel. All very nice. We have not used the services of restaurant, nor breakfast: for us their prices seemed expensive to us.

I stayed at the Hotel Aubergade in September 2013 during a bike trip around France. I didn't know what to expect in Barbotan-les-Thermes; when I got there, I saw that there was a huge range of accommodation, from low-budget places to the heights of luxury. The Hotel Aubergade fell somewhere in the middle; it looked a little older than many of the hotels further from the center, and was a little worn. When I got to my room, it was small, basic (almost spartan), but clean and sufficient for my stay there. I don't recall there being any air-conditioning (it was very hot during my stay), but the doors opened into an "open-locked" state that made me feel safe, but let the air in. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. A pool was available, though I didn't use it. If you're looking for a simple, basic accommodation that is clean and well-priced, this hotel will serve.

We have been coming here for our Easter holidays for the last 4 years, as this is an excellent base for carp fishing, which my husband enjoys doing, and the weather is mild this time of year. We love this campsite for its easy access to both towns, as the lake is situated between Cazaubon and Barbotan les Thermes, both an easy 5-minute bike ride from the site and perfect for shopping, but there is a bus stop in the outside parking area near the Proxy supermarket. Both towns hold street markets on Wednesdays and Fridays and car-boot sales on Sundays. There is a Proxi supermarket at the entrance of the camping, but this only opens from 1st June till 30 September, as well as a Pizza takeaway. The campsite itself is beautifully maintained and has well over 300 pitches of generous size with hard standing and grassy areas, electricity hook-ups, easy access to the lake and various shower/toilet blocks, basic but adequate and clean. Chalets/mobile homes are also available for hire. There is also a good laundry room with washing machines and tumble driers. The swimming pool is only open in high season, but it has a lovely recreation area with tables, benches and stools and a snack-bar. We simply love it here and will keep coming back.

It's a strange town - Barbotan les Thermes. I'm not sure it's a place to make a special visit. Anyway we ended up looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful and Les Kakis definitely fitted the bill! On the balcony plastic tables and chairs. It looked promising that the restaurant also described itself as a Saladerie as most French restaurants think salad is just chucking a load of green stuff in a big bowl. Well the salads here were an improvement and slightly better presented than other establishments and ok. Other members of the party had galettes which were also OK. As long as you don't expect too much then you won't be disappointed but don't make a special trip !
