Well, it is now called the Radisson Collection Hotel. Though the reviews seemingly are very good, I highly doubt anyone has stayed recently. Has potential to be a nice hotel, and on face value looks top notch. Stay here and you’ll find subpar food at much more expensive prices, and either an owner or company that simply has no clue how to run a hotel. Nor do they seem to want to maintain it, from broken shade umbrellas at the pool, to horrid room service and lack luster amenities. The restaurant staff tries, but are overwhelmed or overworked to cover multiple areas which delays food, or even loses order routinely. The management staff simply do not know how to manage their personnel. At the price point it would be a good deal if the hotel actually was maintained, but from parking to overly crowded front streets, it really is not worth the price and there are plenty of better options for a fraction of the cost. Wouldn’t score even being a four star hotel remotely in any advanced country.

Better than ever!

We visited from time to time before the terrorist attack in '17, but this was the first time back since they rebuilt. They have tightened security: unlike many places in Bamako where you open your bag and they just wave you through, they really examine what's in there. They have expanded swimming options: instead of one pool below and two small ones up the hill, there's a huge pool with a water slide now at the top of the hill. I have to say we have never really been impressed by what we've eaten there, esp. for the high prices. You aren't allowed to bring in food, so you need to either schedule your visit between meals, or hope for the best. Anyway, it remains one of our favorite places to take guests and enjoy a quiet day together or with friends.

A fairy tale with some imperfections

Reviewed By jozefd53

The Tamana hotel, near the Hippodrome in Bamako, has been conceived with the intention of creating a whole-African atmosphere. The center piece of the hotel is a garden where the customers can enjoy the shadow of big trees, the freshness of a waterpool and the charm of well-chosen African-style furniture, art works and decorations. Nicholas, the courteous director of the hotel, is running the hotel very well. During my stay, from 10 to 19 March 2019, I often made use of the restaurant of the hotel, not only for breakfast (comprised in the room price), but also for lunch and dinner. Mostly, too much personnel seemed at work for too little customers. In the evening, mosquitoes could be annoying companians. Tamana hotel is a bit far from the city center. However, restaurants, a bakery, an ice shop, bars and night clubs are at walking distance. Taxis can easily be halted (1,500 francs to the center) along the Bla Bla road.

Top quality accommodation and restaurant

Reviewed By lenemike

On my first visit to Bamako in 1986 I stayed in a very nondescript, run down hotel near the railway station. The line to Dakar is closed now and the city has been transformed with wide avenues, new bridges across the Niger river, etc. During my recent stay I was lucky enough to be directed to the Casa Blanca, possibly one of the best places I have found anywhere. The owner specializes in displaying local artworks and serving excellent meals. The chicken and fish dishes I ate for dinner on two consecutive evenings were top quality. My room was large as was the adjoining bathroom. The work table was fine and the air con was quiet! The only drawback was a rather hard bed. But if I return to Bamako I'll be sure to reserve a room at the Casa Blanca.

Clean, spacious, economical, centrally located

Reviewed By raywaldron26

My second time here. Last time was in 2010. Nothing changed, which means it's still a modest, well run hotel, minimal, satisfactory continental breakfast included. Menu is basic. "Captain" Nile Perch brochettes were best on menu and Potage de Legume I ordered a number of times. Laundry service is quick and economical compared to most hotels. In same block are Asian, French, and Tex-Mex-Ukrainian restaurants. Staff are friendly, easy going. One negative are little, silent mosquitos in room (even though hotel fumigates for them) and in dining room.
