Worn out rooms , Wi-Fi in my room was a disaster, food taste is very much below average. Suffer to watch anything or any news , again connected to the Wi-Fi which is not in the room. Security is very good and Staff are really polite and helpful. Location is good

Coral Baghdad Hotel is the ideal address for travellers to the Iraqi capital ensuring the highest degree of safety and security. Located in the heart of Baghdad in Jadriya area merely 2 km from Green Zone and 17 km from Baghdad International Airport, the hotel is the perfect starting point for discovering the city's key attractions such as the National Theatre, the National Museum, the Latin Church and Aaras Tourist Village.
Stayed here with a group, so we took advantage of the outside tent where we could gather, including smoking shisha. Rooms are spacious, Food ok, although the Restaurant atosphere is a bit sterile. The upside of the hotel is its good location on the city center towards the airport, and that there is no hassle with security. The downside is that there is no security, and the atmosphere can't compare with the Babylon Hotel. Nevertheless a recommendable choice in Baghdad.

I spent a few nights here in Feb 2020 and really enjoyed my stay. The hotel was safe, comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The bar was good too! The hotel claims to be a five star hotel and if you judge it based on western standards you will be a bit disappointed.

4.5 - nice, clean hotel in the Karada neighbourhood. Close to walk to shops and restaurants. The hotel rooms are a bit outdated but the beds are comfortable. The staff is really nice. There is a good breakfast buffet from 6-10. Wifi wasn’t that great. The shower has hot water, but pressure isn’t that great. Stayed here in rooms 204 and 402 at beginning and end legs of trip through the country. Room 402 is much bigger and brighter.

Not a mentioned service to be detailed, breakfast is very simple just two plates of cheese, rooms does not contains any items as toothbrush, shoes cleaner, laundry bag, shaving kit, ...etc. only soap bar and shampoo exist. Room cleaning is not as expected. All rooms do not have a view to the river due to windows closing by woody shutters It is not a nice memory

Business is business; in hotels, they provide room and services, and customers pay for them. However, in Shanashel hotel, there is no trade. Mr. Abbas, Shanashel CEO, and his team have a humanistic view of serving their guests to delight and satisfy them. I think this point of view has more value for them than money. From the first contact, they care for guests. They texted me on the morning of the check-in date to reassure both parties about everything confirmation. That was a kind of peace of mind for me to ensure that I would have an easy check-in process. A very polite man, Mahdi, was waiting for guests to take their baggage to the hotel when we arrived. The check-in process was straightforward and fast; Esraa and Ali were supportive, kind, and polite. They could speak English fluently. Another man took our luggage to the room. When I entered the room, I found that they had considered a free upgrade for us. Instead of a standard twin room, they had given us a spacious triple suite at the same price. We were exhausted from a long trip. Some minutes later, a man rang the door; and he brought a basket of fresh fruits and told us, "Hospitality." Yes! It was great hospitality and more than our expectations. The room was comfortable. Maybe it was not very luxurious; however, we felt that we were in our home. The breakfast was great. There was a complete variety of pastries, fruits, warm foods, dairies, nuts, and a delicious natural orange juice for breakfast. The taste of the coffee was excellent. Mahdi also worked in the breakfast hall as a waiter. He was doing his job in the best way. The lobby and the restaurant were stunning and well-decorated with gorgeous windows. It was remembering that we were in a country with a great history of civilization. Although Iraq is injured and exhausted from several wars, the atmosphere in the lobby told us that Iraq, like an old princess, is still beautiful and full of passion and flirtation. Thanks for Mr. Abbas. He provided a late check-out for us until 6:00 PM. When we wanted to leave the hotel, some boxes of sliced fruits and pastries were a great souvenir and provided a calmer and better road trip. I went to Shanashel hotel as a guest, but I left there as a friend. It will be my home in Iraq, and I will never choose another hotel in Baghdad. Every hotel can make the walls of rooms with gold, but it is useless for guests. Nonetheless, only few hotels can make a difference through their culture. Shanashel is one of them.

Very good by Baghdad standards. Rooms are very nice but many have only a small window opening onto an airshaft. Larger ones with actual windows and sunlight are very comfortable but considerably more expensive. The large rooms are inaccurately called suites bc they are slightly bigger and have a sofa rather than a chair. There is no coronavirus awareness in this hotel. Receptionists, cleaning people and room service staff do not have masks and seemingly are not provided them by the hotel.
