A respectful decoration of the environment Grounds are natural materials: ardoise, marble travertin, bamboo, stone. Walls are coated with diverses colors following the subject of rooms. The reception, the dining romm are equiped with wood, wrought iron, and colonial furniture. all the origins of wooden whom they are for grounds, or furniture can arise only from forests fully qualified teachers, it is not there no place here, for materials stemming from the deforestation !
That hotel is a great deal for a family. Easy access,a traditional restaurant in front of the hotel. We enjoyed our stay. Very well equipped. A car is needed to go to beach, markets and so on. The only think is cleaning and maintenance can be better managed.

We booked here, for a change, normally we drop over the border to San Sebastian. We thought it gives the opportunity of some peace and a few days in the hills, plus a day trip over for some great tapas. We booked a Studio, as they are described as larger rooms, whilst very clean and tidy it's all about perception (what is large). To add to this we overlooked what turned out to be the local "rat run" so it was quite noisy, with trucks passing very early in the morning. Insult was added to injury when the glass shower door fell off whilst my wife was showering injuring her foot. When I reported this, the 1st question was "Did the door break?" not was she injured, plus " We will have the door fixed for this evening" At which I suggested we would rather have another room, I was told " WE are full this evening, but you can change to another room which has just been vacated" When I accepted this I was shown to an unprepared room and told " if you move your thing in we will have it prepared for this evening" truly service with a smile!!!!! As I expected the bill was presented in full and no mention was made of our mishap not the best service I have came across.

The staff is extremely kind, make you feel as if you were at home. Rooms are very wide and clean. The cost is average. Easy to park, and bar service. Also the breakfast in the morning is good and very healthy with local products.

Very comfortable hotel with warm welcome from Joelle. Bedroom was lovely with nice decor and bed very comfortable. Good breakfast served with homemade jams and additional coffee readily available in the rooms. Joelle gave good recommendations on local restaurants to visit. Lovely to visit the area and return to the pool, have a drink and back out for the evening walking into Ascain to local restaurants.

The rooms are clean, but just about as basic as a hotel can be. The hotel screams out for a refit by someone who understands what a hotel guest requires to be comfortable. The beds in my room (number 6) comprised 2 very narrow singles, with not very comfortable mattresses and very basic bedding. The television was multi channel (non English as far as I could determine) and was mounted 7 feet from floor level, making it very uncomfortable to watch. There was no airconditioning or fan provided and the room was rather hot. The bathroom was equipped with a shower in the bath, a toilet and a washbasin, but nowhere to put toiletries. The staff were generally helpful, except that the bar was invariably unstaffed and it was difficult at times to get a drink or a coffee. Upon leaving, I was conscious of the need to reconfirm my flight from Bordeaux back to London, as the outbound flight had been overbooked and I did not want to be stranded. I asked at the bar if there was a staff member at reception who could confirm my booking on the B.A. flight that evening and possibly print a boarding card. The lady who arrived was most irate and ill tempered, as I had apparently interrupted her lunch. After many huffs and puffs and words in Basque directed at me, she said that it was not possible to connect to the British Airways website. That particular lady may one day have similar concerns regarding a flight home and will realise how very unpleasant it is to be on the receiving end of an angry receptionist. One hour later, I managed to connect via a friend who lived locally and printed my boarding card. Would I stay there again? Positively not, as there are very many seemingly better hotels in the region, albeit at a slightly higher rate. The restaurant however was excellent, with several Basque dishes at very reasonable prices.

We booked an overnight stay as driving from Portugal to France and thought this would appeal for the kids... Arrived at 7pm, the receptionist was friendly and helped. Room was nice, clean but the sheet didn't fit and this made sleeping difficult...I didn't notice till bedtime but reception was closed. So I spent a night fighting the covers. We paid €52 for a meal as thought it would be easier than finding somewhere to eat...nothing was explained to us and we had to follow others eating to work out what to do. The food was appalling and tasteless...what made us laugh (and not in a good way) the staff ate and took their food before guests! Serving themselves before guests...seriously! Waste of money. We got a drink at the bar and the barmaid spoke and laughed with an other guest leaving us feeling isolated - attitude changed when dealing with us - we felt so uncomfortable that we went to our fly inhabited room. We left early (thankfully missing breakfast) but came down to find all the doors locked...no reception open and we had to leave our key on the opening to shutter and hoped they got it... Room was okay, attitude and service...grrrr My advice don't go there if your English!!!

We've eaten here many times over the past few years.... but have to say what an improvement since the hotel was redeveloped. We had lovely meal on the terrace, with great service and very good value. If you are visiting Ascain the Hotel du Parc is probably the best deal in town!

Had booked a room for 3 (2 adults, 1 child) which cost € 125. Very small room with 3 single beds filled the space. Closet filled with "stuff". Bath and bathroom in need for some serious renovation. Due to huge traffic jams we arrived around 20:45 and were no longer allowed in the restaurant. Breakfast showed little variation, fruit out of tin cans.

Vraiment top
