The website was a bit deceptive (as many hotels in Germany are) with photos of the pool and spa that make them appear much larger than reality. The dining room at supper reminded us of the food we ate when visiting elderly parents in a long-term care facility. Skip the half-board. The good news is that the staff is extremely friendly and worked hard at keeping place clean. Beer (Osser) is excellent and breakfast good.

+ The area has so many plusses, I don't know where to begin. It is most lovely in the fall/winter: very little tourists, and beautifull colours and mistbanks in the forests. + There is a bakery nearby, the staff from the park will give you a flyer. You can go there and place your order for freshly baked bread, wich will then be delivered every morning to your house in the park! Very cheap, convenient and very tasty! + The bathroom was very clean. + Very quiet in the park. + Not too expensive. - The bedroom was very dusty, with my allergies this was very annoying... - There are so many awfully ugly decorations in the house... When we first arrived I gathered all the ugly statues, plastic flowers, wierd vases, panter pillows etc and put them in the cupboard. That made it look much better. - Still, the interior is incredibly outdated, ugly and old... It is a bit depressing. - This is not mentioned, but you have to pay for heating and electricity after your stay! I knew this from reviews, but it is not mentioned anywhere else! This can be very costly. We are very aware of our energy use/waste but still had to pay about 80 euro's for 1 week! - The restaurants are closed in november, this is a holiday so hardly any restaurants are open in the area. Conclusion: I'd much rather be in the Roompotpark Grafenau when I visit this wonderfull area, but that was closed in november. That is the only reason whe choose this park. If you know what to expect it's o.k., but next winter break I'll go to park Grafenau again.
