Omotenashi for "The Morning Filled with Smiles" Comfortable guest rooms, a variety of facilities and fixings, specialty breakfast, and our staff's cordial Omotenashi. In order for all of our guests who stay at Daiwa Roynet Hotels to wake up in the morning with a smile, we will do our best.
Some good things here - the staff do their best, the room is clean and everything works; the breakfast is better than average for Japanese business hotels. But all of these things count for little if you can't sleep in comfort, and the bed is simply as hard as a block of concrete.

We stayed in the Richmond Hotel for 14-nights, averaging ¥10,000 (US$92) per night for a Hollywood Twin room (25m2 or 275 sq. ft.) over Christmas & New Year. Parking (mechanical parking, but usually only a 2-minute wait) with in-&-out privileges was ¥900 per day. The staff were just amazing. Some of the most friendly, helpful, & patient service that I have ever received anywhere in the world! Because of the new year, a lot of restaurants were fully booked or closed, but the team were very patient to help us book our party of 9 into restaurants that they could find. There was always someone at the front desk who was fluent in English. It was also a great staging point for us to head to the ski resorts. And the duck soba restaurant next door, Kaneshime Kakizaki Soba, was a frequent favourite. The Richmond Hotel was further from the train / bus station than most of the other hotels, but was still a firm favourite that delivered on all counts!

Be it in spring, when the roadside trees are at their most verdant, or summer with the famous local festivals, come here to truly appreciate the majesty of Aomori. Walk down Shinmachi Street—famous as the parade route for the Nebuta Festival— from JR Aomori Station for 3 minutes. The hotel is connected to Aomori’s famous Passage Square, with its iconic Norway spruce. Just 15 minutes by car from the Aomori Chuo Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway, or roughly 30 minutes by limousine bus from Aomori Airport, the hotel is conveniently located to serve as your gateway to Aomori! Our hotel’s pride and joy is its prime location on Shinmachi Street, surrounded by rich natural beauty that changes year round: from the dainty Hime-ringo blossoms in spring to the rich colors that decorate those same trees in the fall; this northern paradise will even allow you to build snowmen in winter. We guarantee you a comfortable and relaxing stay.
My husband and I welcomed 2020 in this hotel. Although the room is small, it served us perfectly. The location is great and we got to experience snow fall for the first time! The staffs were also very friendly and accomodating. Will definitely book this hotel if we ever visit Aomori again.

I've stayed in other Toyoko Inns and I think they have maintained really good standard across the chain. This one in Aomori is no disappointment. It is easy to find and within 5-minute walk from the station, which is not a problem at all even on a snowy day. The check-in was smooth and I was able to leave my luggage in a room at the lobby before the check-in time (4PM for non-members, one hour earlier for members). The sign of free breakfast was shown at the check-in counter so I had no problem at all getting informed. The room, as with other Toyoko Inn rooms, is spotless and well-equipped with necessities. The bed is comfortable. The window was a bit squeaky due to the snowstorm but at other times, it's fine. The free all-you-can-eat breakfast is standard. Choices are limited but I felt ready for a long day of activities after stuffing myself full with rice, miso soup, egg rolls, potato salad, apple vinegar and coffee. Everytime I went out and in, the staff at the front desk always greeted me with welcome. They were also able to communicate in simple English, which is enough to answer my inquiries. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. It's no 5-star hotel of course, but the price is very affordable, the quality of service is good, and I felt very comfortable staying for 2 nights. Will choose Toyoko Inn when I visit Japan again in the future.

This hotel is in downtown Aomori but also provides a gorgeous view of Mutsu Bay and the Hakkoda Mountains. Conveniently located close to JR Aomori Station, we’re just 3 minutes away by car, or 15 minutes on foot. If you’re coming by Shinkansen, whether from the north on the Hokkaido Shinkansen or the south on the Tohoku Shinkansen, you can get to our hotel from Shin-Aomori Station in 15 minutes by car. Although this hotel is in downtown Aomori, it provides an amazing view of Mutsu Bay and the Hakkoda Mountains. Our hotel has a warm, laid back atmosphere, and is located nearby both Aomori Prefectural Museum, which is housed in a repurposed building with the chic architecture of 1931, and Uto Shrine, an ancient place of worship infused with the whole history of Aomori from its beginnings up to the present day.
So often in Japan low price hotels have view only to next building in 30cm - 5m distance. Now we were lucky to have sea view and we saw also nice sunset and several boat running. Room was basic, small and clean. Everything working perfectly. But definitely worth its low price. Parking area next to hotel, but rather limited capacity. Luckily staff was - as also at reception - very helpful. Though mostly not English speaking. Their breakfast is extremely good. Huge combination from different cultures and changing a little every morning. Location is close to main attractions and numerous restaurants and bars nearby.

The hotel is affordable for our stay. However the location is quite far from nearest JR station, about 1.3km walk. The hotel cannot be seen from main road.Fortunately we asked nearest Tourist information before we start looking. The wifi connection was good. The hotel was cleaned and the staff there was friendly.I have not use the coin laundry service although they mentioned it was available.

4 stars and possibly 5 stars; if you can get a larger double bed room. The hotel was very busy with autumn colours travellers, so even booking many months in front we could only get a small double room. Ok for one night but too small for two adults with two large suitcases. Efficient and friendly check-in. Room super clean. Our Nissan X Trail small SUV was too high for the hotel’s stacker car park but the attendant there with English language cards showed us how to access the open car park across the street. 700 Y per night for the car park. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the main shopping street and the same distance to the A shaped tourist centre on the waterfront. We only stayed the one night having caught the train down from Hakodate and then picking up our hire car at the Aomori shin railway station. An excellent starting point for part 2 of our all of Japan, self-drive road trip.

- I and my parents stay at this hotel for 1 night with 2 double rooms. Luckily, my room could see the view of Aomori Bay Bridge. Wonderful and colorful. - The location was excellent with just opposite JR Aomori Station and surrounded with several restaurants. - The room was quite old but clean. The staff contained warm services. - The breakfast was on the standard menus with the good taste, especially rice (We love Tohoku Rice).

The main advantage of the hotel is its super convenient location. There are three bus stops within 2-min walk, the main train station is a 5-min walk, with several combini super close too. Another plus is the breakfast buffet, quite a nice spread with the usual Japanese morning fare, plus a few local specialties. The apple vinegar drink was so good!! The room itself was frankly nothing to be impressed by. Clean as per the norm of Japanese standards, but it was so dated that it had an AM/FM radio built into the nightstand?!! Also, not sure why--perhaps there was a special event or something--but the one night I stayed there, the room rate was almost USD$300, so definitely not worth it, but I had no other choice at the time.

A twin bed, bare walls, a computer screen as a TV (pay extra for TV card) and modular RV style toilet and shower is what 5500yen buys in Aomori. The upshot is It’s a 15 minute walk from the train station. In a country that is known for being safe and especially anti-theft; it was disconcerting to see the warning sign saying the elevator stops at the 4th floor reception for “crime prevention”. Another sign plastered inside the elevator announced a broken boiler and limited hot water. The curled sides of the paper suggested it had been there awhile. The room was cozy and served its purpose.
