Time and silence. Your meeting point if you want to do The Caliphate Route or to visit Granada and Cordoba.
This Hotel is ideally located on one of the town's main streets, within easy walking distance of the museum, the Parque and central historical sights and the stunning Fortaleza de la Mota is around 10 minutes driving distance. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and found ample nearby free parking, although this may not be the case on a busy weekday. Reassuringly, the Hotel's COVID protocols were strictly followed including a temperature test every time we entered the Hotel and, at check-in, our luggage was sprayed with anti-viral cleanser. We had an upper-floor superior room, which was scrupulously clean (even the TV remote was wrapped!) and reasonably large with a balcony and ample space for storing clothes and luggage. Room facilities included a TV and fridge (sadly empty), but no room-safe, and the bathroom was a reasonable size and equipped with basic toiletries. Free Wi-Fi was provided and speeds were sufficient to allow live streaming of English language news. Other than Reception, the ground-floor was occupied by a restaurant and bar/cafeteria (with a small terrace) which was open to non-guests and was quite lively on Saturday evening. Here also we were pleased to see that hygiene and distancing protocols were fully observed. In summary, this hotel is perfect for any visitors wanting comfortable accommodation in a central location which is easily accessible by car.

Right in centre of Alcala is this new luxury hotel. Located in a converted town house it has a central patio with free coffee and tea facilities. We had a suite which was enormous, on two levels with a double bed on the top and a living room with a sofa bed below. Everything is finished to a high spec and we loved the little guest gift tokens. The hotel is on a very narrow road and parking nearby wasn't easy to find - apparently there was an underground garage in the centre but we missed the entrance and decided to park on one of the exit roads. There is no breakfast but we can recommend the Churreria opposite the town hall on the square which is particularly good.

Alcala La Real is a beautiful city in the province of Jaen in Andalucia, Spain. A province renowned for its olive groves, natural, rugged landscape and rich culture & history. Our place, Atelier88, is a charmingly authentic Spanish townhouse situated on Calle Real, just a stones throw from the stunning Fortaleza de la Mota. We have three amazing private guest spaces (Rothko & Miro on the first floor & Dali Atico on the second floor). All rooms have their own unique style and enjoy access to a saltwater swimming pool and beautiful garden terrace to the rear of the property, the perfect place to eat, drink and relax in comfort. Rothko is a beautiful double en-suite room looking out onto the quiet street. Miro, a split level room with a view, has a double bed, dressing area and ensuite shower room, Dali has a super kingsize bed, kitchenette, table (can be used as a desk) plus a large Day Bed for relaxing or an extra sleeping space. Our prices include a delicious Spanish breakfast served in the sunshine or inside (you choose) and our facilities include Free WiFi, Central Heating, Air Conditioning, hairdryer & toiletries.
Angela and Ash were such pleasant, helpful hosts. The large house, with delightful Morrocan style garden and lovely pool, sits at the top of Alcala very close to the wonderful La Mota. There has been huge investment in the house, it shows, the rooms are individual and good. The bathrooms, very swish and functional. The house has mains gas central heating- unheard of in Spain- and would be, I think, a great winter rental. Alcala is at over 900m remember. Fresquita in the winter months! Serve yourself breakfast was excellent once you get the hang of the coffee machine and toaster...juice, fruit, yogs, good bread, mashed tomato for tostadas, jamon, cheese, it's all there. With its quite spacious patio garden and pool there are good sittjng out options in sun or shade. Atelier 88 is a good, well run place. I recommend it!

We stayed here for four nights exploring the area. We booked on a recommendation from family who had stayed themselves and we were not disappointed. We had a studio apartment which was spacious and very clean. The kitchenette was modern with basic cooking facilities and utensils. The apartments are on the edge of town, about 10 minutes walk from the centre. Parking is on the street but there was no problem finding a space. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Service is unobtrusive and efficient. Our room was cleaned every day and towels replaced. Fast, free wifi is included in the price. If you need a convenient budget apartment this one is hard to beat.

Apartments built in a couple of buildings of an old mill around a small courtyard. Our apartment was very large and had all amenities. My wife particularly appreciated the floor heating upstairs that went on automatically at night. Above the courtyard is a pool and terrace area The hosts Roberto y Pilar were very friendly, helpful and quick to respond to any query. The facilities appear to be almost new and are well maintained. They were working on the large upper terrace area near the pool during our stay to make more improvements. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a bbq area outside. The washing machine was shared. The town has no amenities but it is a short ride to Alcala de Real. We made two hikes from the property. One up the hill through olive trees which had views to Alcala de Real and another below through asparagus fields and Olive groves. Safe place for kids to play on their own inside the property and ours wandered around by the fields ad steam Good place to get away but not rough it at all. Wifi in all the property. Slow but worked. The area was very peaceful. Sleepy village with no amenities but a short easy ride to Alcala de Real. We made a couple of hikes from the property one up the hill through Olive trees and hills and another below through fields of asparagus and olives. Good place to get away
