Known as "La Casa Roja" or Red House, this mansion was built as an autumnal residence in the centre of agricultural land growing oranges, avocados, mangos and papayas. This surprising Hotel oozes harmony from all four walls. In its exquisite decoration the clean lines stand out, along with the wood harmoniously blended with bright fabrics, the colour range and the collection of photographs, paintings and antiques lining the corridors and rooms. The garden captivates visitors due to its centuries-old trees, fruit trees and the care with which it is looked after, perfumed in spring by the delicate smell of saffron.
We stayed here for 4 nights in February 2022 on a B&B basis but had dinner one night. Overall it was superb. We both slept like logs waking up to the sound of the rooster and then down to an amazing breakfast on the terrace. Would be more than happy to recommend it to everyone as a great base for this part of Gran Canaria and hope to come back some day. Hasta la proxima Uwe and Mary

Casa Calma Yoga Guesthouse is a house with almost 100 years old that maintains some wooden roofs of tea (Canarian pine). It is a quiet house with a large terrace where you can have breakfast in the sun and where there is also a wooden platform for yoga and meditation. It is located in the center of Agaete, 2 minutes from the bus stop and within walking distance of the beach, the natural pools and the Tamadaba Natural Park, as well as having one of the best kept exotic secrets, the Agaete Valley, print of palm trees, avocados and coffee plantations. The only place in Europe where coffee is grown due to its special weather condition.
great atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff.the house is gorgeous and perfect for those who want to have an experience in peace and harmony.I recommend it to any person, thanks Calma yoga house

The Hotel offers an heated outdoor pool, Jacuzzi, Gym, Restaurant “Juncal" (offering breakfast and dinner buffet), the a la carte restaurant and chill out bar "Rock Top Sky Bar" and a poolbar. Finally, the hotel surroundings propose a large variety of activities that invite us to enjoy nature: mountain biking, trekking, diving...
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel from the very beginning. The staff was very friendly and helpful, often going beyond their standard tasks which made us feel very welcome. The rooms are spacious, clean and have an excellent view. The food selection was good. Thank you for having us!

This small and comfortable hotel is situated in the beautiful town of Agaete, to be exact, in The Puerto de Las Nieves. This is a lovely fishing town, that surprises visitors for its typical white and blue houses. It is situated in the north of the island, less than 40 km from the capital. This area has a special attraction for those who want to enjoy peace and harmony and to be away from the hectic town, ideal for those who like to practice open- air activities, such us hiking (in the mountains) and diving (in the sea). In the surroundings you can enjoy great natural landscapes like The Pinar de Tamadaba or the marvelous cliffs of the north of Gran Canaria.
This hotel is very quiet and very nice in many ways: - spacious room with a terrace offering beautiful partial views of the mountains & sea; - functional bathroom with good water pressures; - free excellent breakfast (with DIY freshly squeezed orange juice, perfect toasts, yummy pistachios yogurt etc); - free parking & spa; - a few minutes walk to a supermarket, beach & promenade ... etc. Yet most irritating is the WiFi. The quality is so poor that you can regard it as non existent. This is totally NOT acceptable for a 4 stars hotel ! The counter staff said that they'll fix the problem but it never worked out during our stay. At times they said it's available in the common area but my phone never got connected with their 'wifi'. If you get a good bargain, go along with it but make sure you have a sim card connecting to internet.

Casa de pueblo de uso compartido! 3 habitaciones doble con baño! A partir del 1 de junio las tendré abiertas al público local
We spent an excellent 5 days at Casa Luna and would certainly recommend it to other travellers. The room on top of the building has a spendid view over the area and the hosts (and the cats!) are really friendly.

Our hotel is located in a typical little fishing village on the northern coast of Gran Canaria. Just 150 meters from the beach, with natural pools on the top of volcanic rocks. We are situated in the middle of peaceful environment, ideal for spending a few days of your holiday and discover the charms of this place, far away from the busy centers. The bright rooms are simply decorated, inspired by the local maritime tradition. Rooms have air conditioning, desk, bathroom, amenities, etc. The buffet breakfast offers ham, sausages, jams, pastries, bread, etc.We have a large terrace with beautiful views of the sea and mountains. You can travel to other islands by ferry at the port 200 meters away.
This is a simple 2 star so it's not grand. Our room had 2 single beds which were comfortable except for plasticised mattress covers, which I don't like. It was bright and pleasant with a view down the street to the sea if you stepped onto the balcony. Really great top floor terrace with comfy seats and stunning views, plus a vending machine for soft drinks and beer. Also a useful area on the lower ground floor with plates and cutlery, vending machines, a microwave, dining table and comfy seating, so you can bring food in. No actual cooking facilities. Kettle at reception. We had the breakfast at the next door hotel, which was ok if you like hotel buffets. Or go to Meson bocadillo just down the road.

We could not have picked a better location than Agaete to spend a few days in the North of Gran Canaria! A nice and cozy town which has a lot to offer and is a good base for excursions along the coast and into the central mountains! Don't miss the valley of Agaete with the green plantations of the fincas (La Laja was recommended and did not disappoint!) and the walking trails into the hillside or a visit to the port Puerto de las Nieves with its pebble beach and fish restaurants - and the nicest playground of the holiday for our son with a big ship to play on! If you want to jump over to Tenerife for a few days or for some island hopping, this is a good place too: the speed ferry departs several times a day and takes only 80 minutes to cross... The beautiful and new apartment of Sonia and her family was the perfect place to stay for us: spacious, well equipped, nice terrace with a view, two big bedrooms and a kid's corner with lots of toys! A great family-friendly place with a lot of extra baby/toddler equipment upon request (we didn't need it, but may be good to know) and a washing machine - be prepared for a few stairs (outside) though, but the whole area is built into the hillside which guarantees the nice view! On good days you can even see Teneriffa's Teide above the clouds! We mostly cooked our own dinners, but certainly there are enough restaurant options downstairs in the old town center around the church or in the port (you can walk there in about 30 minutes). Sonia speaks mostly Spanish, but this was not an issue for us and you can always get help from a translator app if you Spanish is not very fluent... She even offered us a parking space in front of her own house upstairs, much appreciated! Would love to come back one day! Thanks!!! The narrow streets to get to the apartment can be a bit stressful for unexperienced drivers, but we managed to get in and out without any issues every day. Sonia apologized for the bad Wifi and she hopes for an upgrade by the provider soon - not a big deal for us, but if you need to work during your holiday, you should maybe top up your own data package just in case...

One of 3 apartments in a small rural complex, it is attractive, spacious, and unusual. Kitchen in our apartment was however small, physically separate, no running hot water, no basin ( or plug for the sink) and no kettle — boiling water for anything could only be done in a pan ! Two burner hot plate seemed to cause power cuts, but was replaced by the caretaker. Our apartment was cold, but the caretaker ( who lives some distance away unfortunately) produced a fan heater. The apartment was poor value for the winter-time, but would come more into its own in Spring/Summer/Autumn when pool, barbecue etc would be be of more value.
