Vientiane Backpackers is a modern, clean and friendly hostel which is ideally located in the centre of the Lao Capital, Vientiane. Close by is the scenic Mekong River aswell as restaraunts, cafe's and a small number of bars. Next door is the Vaimiay Temple and good local transport links as well as various travel agents.
This hostel is right in the middle of the action. Temples abound around the property, with one right in front of it. Restaurants, bars, spas are just everywhere nearby. The famed Mekong River as well as the night market are both just less than 5 minute walk. Location-wise, this is excellent. Check-in process was seamless, staff are courteous and very helpful to assist. The place is relatively clean, and can see staff cleaning rooms as well as toilets on daily basis. Surprised to see the improvements made by the management of this hostel. The beds have been replaced with new ones since the last time I was here (summer 2018). Was told by the owner that this was in response to all the feedback he got for his hostel. I sincerely believe he and his staff are doing all things possible to make this as homey as possible for all travelers. Over-all, you get your money's worth. Will keep coming back here whenever I am in Vientiane.

Welcome to Dream home Hostel. This is a brand new property of Western Standards Managed by Michael from Australia and Chef Johno from South Africa. This new establishment is located in the heart of Vientiane. The surrounding area hosts a large number of authentic Lao food options, markets, foreign restaurants, bars and the famous Mekong River.
### where is it? Sihome Road. Actually quite well located, there is a good street with live music for the evenings just around the corner. Mayor sights can be reached by foot. ### how are the rooms? Did I mention there is love music around the corner? Don’t worry you will notice yourself as the rooms are super noisy. Very annoying! I stayed in a 4 people dormitory with shared bathroom. Rooms and facilities are really run down and would urgently need a make over. When I returned to Vientiane by the end of the month I learned that the hostel was closed since the owner mowed to vang vieng. So maybe a new owner will make it a better place now?

Located in the heart of city centre, Bed Terminal Hostel & Cafe is a perfect choice for a backpacker or any interested customers. In front of the property, there are many good restaurants and shops. Walking from the hostel to Mekong river where the night market is set up every day takes only 5 minutes. Bed Terminal Hostel & Cafe is newly built. Bed rooms are very clean and comfortable.

Vientiane Travellers House offers dorms with A/C, WiFi, laundry service, lockers (buy your own lock), 24 hour security and reception, a restaurant with food and drinks in the lobby and free tourist information with maps and consultation. Tourist consultation includes visa service, bus ticket, airline ticket, train ticket and some tours to Vietnam and other parts of Asia. There is a common room with Wifi, TV, A/C and beer so you can meet other backpackers or just relax away from the heat with a cool drink. We have a very friendly and knowledgeable staff who can speak English and are happy to help you. Oh, and bring a board game to leave behind, and you get a night in a dorm for free. Can you paint? Do us a wall piece, and stay a night for free. Are you a carpenter, help us out and stay a night for free. We're just cool like that ;)
We stayed in a private room and it was disgusting. Down the side of the bed had used tissues and the whole floor area and walls were dirty. They also make you take your shoes off outside which I don't like as you end up having to wash your feet due to the dirt on them. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was decent. They had a nice dog.

Good location (close to the city center and night market) and quite good price. A lot of guests. Hostel My room room was not spacious and there was poor ventilation. Room and bathroom were clean. In this hostel were uncomfortable stairs and street noise was heard in the hostel (even late night).

Backpackers Garden is a hostel based in Vientiane, right next to the city center. It's a quiet place where everybody is welcome to feel home & where we have different artists decorating our walls from all over the world. Feel free to drop by :)
You get what you pay for. It was cleanish, toilet roll not restocked, bugs in the room, breakfast ok but the staff were lazy and couldn’t be bothered to bring us a menu. We had a flight from Udon Thani in Thailand and we were happy to pay more for a mini van that took us straight through for time and convenience. We booked a shuttle with the hotel for 60,000 kip each to udon bus station. The next day the driver was late, when we asked where the driver was he was sat chatting to staff. We thought we would be taken straight through but they just dropped us at the bus station and put us on the public bus!! (Which only costs 22,000 kip each). So they pocketed 76,000 kip from us for a 5 min taxi to the bus station.
