The peaks of Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and their fellow snow-capped giants make Italy's Valle d'Aosta region a haven for serious skiers and hikers. The Courmayeur resort offers year-round icy adventures, thanks to its Giant Glacier. The country's oldest national park, Gran Paradiso, is also located in Valle d'Aosta, as are numerous castles. A cable car ride from La Palud carries passengers over the mountains all the way into Chamonix, France, offering a bird's eye view of the breathtaking scenery.

We have just spent a wonderful peaceful night at Le Coeur du Pont. Our welcome was exceptional; friendly, helpful, polite, professional and efficient. Great care is taken with regard to health and safety in these times of COVID-19, while respecting the comfort and pleasure of the stay. The hotel is beautiful, the breakfast delicious and the parking facilities are good. The surroundings are stunning and there are walks from the hotel. 10/10 for this wonderful hotel.

Great hostel in a very cool little Italian village. The owners are super friendly and pleasant. The village is located in a spectacular valley and it doesn't take very long to get into some very high alpine terrain. Also very reasonably priced.

I stayed here for 5 nights while hiking in the Cogne area. The hostel is modern and spacious, located about 10 mins walk uphill from the centre of Cogne. Although I'd booked a dormitory bed I had a room to myself with great views towards Gran Paradiso (see pic). My only negative experience was, after being told breakfast was at 8am, arriving to find that a group had eaten everything and having to wait 20 minutes for supplies to be replenished. The croissants almost compensate for the always-stale bread. There is also a bar and restaurant under the same management just in front of the hostel. You can eat in the restaurant from 7.30pm as part of a half-board deal.

The site is historically very interesteing. The welcome is friendly. En suite rooms to family dorms. Super food. Excellent value. Peaceful. It is a 20 minute walk from the car park up to the fort but the patron will come down in his 4x4 on request.

We stayed here for one night while walking the Via Francigena. The hotel is ultra-modern, very clean and comfortable. The owners were friendly and helpful. Dinner was tasty and quite adequate, even though it's more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. Recommended!
