Amazing Stay, Will be Back!

Reviewed By vballabeni2001

We had been looking to stay at a motel in the area before we found this hostel. I'm so glad we found this hostel it was absolutely amazing and definitely one of the best hostels I've stayed at. Full kitchen with cooking supplies and basic spices for people to use. Very nice bathrooms with towels provided. Provided guests with brochures of sights to see in the area. Room was very comfortable and beds had a privacy curtain that I very much appreciated. Bed was pretty damn comfy. Hostel was also noticeably making an effort to be conscious of waste and were very eco-friendly. We payed around $36 for our stay and I could not be happier. I will 100% be returning, I cannot recommend this hostel enough.

Great hostel with brilliant staff

Reviewed By Ash_vp27

First time in New Orleans backpacking with a friend. We are very happy we picked Quisby! The hostel has a great atmosphere to it, the staff are brilliant & helpful. They hold activities like movie night, painting, live music on various nights, which are good for meeting people and sharing stories. They have a happy hour everyday and provide complimentary breakfast. It is well located - around 20mins from the French quarter and the WW2 museum only a short walk away. We booked a private twin room with ensuite, which as expected was bunk beds - big enough for 2 people with a small wet room. I would happily recommend The Quisby to fellow travellers - it has a fantastic energy to it!

Place to sleep in neighborhood of faded glory.

Reviewed By wouters_fred

In the neighborhood lots of homeless. Proximity of tram and bus is ok. ROOM The room was clean, simple. My room was pretty small, one could barely sit on the floor. My colleague had a more spacious room, they were really nice. SLEEPING I did not have trouble sleeping. The airco was on the loud side. But My room was on the back side of the hotel so no noise complaints form my side. SERVICE The people were very friendly. TOILET& Bathroom I took a room with shared bathroom. The bathroom was clean and spatious. Only remark there: The water pressure in the shower was much too low. This is probably for eco reasons, but it was so low that i took me much longer to wash my broad shoulders (lol). I think putting it this low is contra productive. Breakfast The breakfast was very limited (yoghurt or eggs if i remember correctly) and I did not feel very welcomed on a table that wasnt reallyu washed and my plate stuck to it. It had to do because it's also a BAR The bar is cosy. No idea on the price point. The bar also had a terrace on the roof of the hotel, which was a good place to sit when the sun was shining. WOULD I go again? It was my first time in the states, so for me the amount of homeless people surrounding the blocks of the hotel really was eye-opening. I'm quite convinced my wife would not dare to go outside of the hotel alone. But she's a scared one. Can the hotel help this? No. But they're doing a great job for hotel guests to give them a clean place to call home.

It was...... fine.

Reviewed By carolinecP4381LP

First off, I want to say how AWESOME Jonathan at the front desk was. He was genuinely one of the best people I interacted with during my entire time in New York, so shoutout to him. Overall, the service at the hostel was really good, the employees are doing a good job. Otherwise, though, it was just... fine. Things I liked: - The whole place was super clean, including the bathrooms. - The little cafe up at the front was great, a really pleasant surprise. - The common spaces were cute with plenty of places to hang out. The things I didn't like so much: - The website had mentioned that the bunks have privacy curtains, but this wasn't the case. I'm kinda weird about people seeing me sleep, so I ended up tucking a blanket under the top bunk. This worked, but it also put me down a blanket, which leads into the next point: - The temperature in the rooms is super inconsistent. One night I'd be freezing and the next I'd be sweating/ You're only provided with a bedsheet, one thin blanket, with the option of a second, so on the cold nights it wasn't quite enough. -The vibe definitely wasn't as social as other hostels I've stayed at. Perhaps it's just a reflection of New York, but rather than seeing people chatting and hanging out in the common areas, most everyone was doing work on their computers. Also, just a little shower tip: bring a washcloth (they don't provide any), and if you have longer hair, bring your own shampoo/conditioner. The hostel only has 2-in-1 shampoo+body wash which was less terrible than I expected but still not ideal. Honestly, while it definitely wasn't perfect, it was a clean place to sleep, which is exactly what I needed.

Perfect place to stay in Seward

Reviewed By Passport623929

My friends and I had an awesome stay at one of the yurts at the Nauti Otter. The yurt village was so fun and it was great to have an outdoor hostel environment here in the US where we were able to meet new people and chat with other travelers around the fire at night or while making waffles in the morning. The beds are super comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook full dinners when we wanted to. Heather and Clint were really responsive with any questions and provided great recs for things to do in and around Seward. Bathrooms were cleaned everyday and guests seemed to take good care of the kitchen and clean up after themselves as well. The location is perfect, near downtown Seward and a number of great trailheads (Lost Lake, Tonsina Point, Exit Glacier, etc.). We loved that the yurt village was a little ways off the Seward Highway and secluded but still near everything, and it was a perfect home base for us all week. I would definitely stay here again!!

An Awful Hostel Made Worse by Greedy and Inattentive Ownership

Reviewed By IBF81

My friends and I are scheduled to check out on May 2nd and we are said to say that we've had to endure a terrible hostel experience during our stay. Between the maddening noise of cockadoodledooing roosters which start crowing incessantly through the windows just after 4:00 AM, complete lack of dorm space, fake pillows and greedy management, which charged us more for a tiny room in a terrible location that's a great distance away from Maui's main attractions, than what we paid for an entire two-room suite in downtown Waikiki, you may not find a lot to like about this place. Did I mention that Wi-Fi only works near the reception area, never inside the dorms, and there is no hot water coming from the shower heads whenever solar pannels fail to draw enough energy from the sun?!? Consider yourselves warned and think twice before booking a reservation at this location. Based on the awful personal experience my friends and I have suffered during our stay at Northshore Hostel, I fully intend to seek a substantial portion of the original booking charges to be refunded back to my credit card.

2022 Park City Ski Trip

Reviewed By Smdemat

I can’t say enough about this hotel. This was our second stay and it again did not disappoint. It is not only that the hotel is beautiful but it is the hotel staff that made the wonderful experience. We were always greeted with a smile (I think because everyone had a mask on) and a welcome back. Two of the staff that stood out are Dave (shuttle driver) and RJ (bellman). Dave dropped us off and picked us up every day and was always very helpful and pleasant, he always greeted us and loaded and unloaded our skis for us. On one day with very cold temps we cut our ski day short and made a special trip to pick us up. RJ was equally as nice, always cheerful and ensured our gear was ready to go. He recognized us by sight so every morning our boots were ready and fresh off the warmer and upon returning he had our shoes and even a couple bottles of water. These are just two of the team members that made us feel special. I want to thank the entire staff. One minor thing that I did not like was at one breakfast a couple brought two dogs into the restaurant, if they were service dogs that would be ok but they poodles sat right up in the booth with them vice staying on the floor. I will be back next year.
